Layor Art Gallery — Attraction in Bend

Traveling to Oregon as an artist can be frustrating when I’m not able to bring all my supplies. Layor art and supply in downtown Bend is my saving grace. Layor is a small shop packed full of fine art supplies, beautiful local art and gifts for any occasion. The staff is impeccable and knowledgeable with the utmost attention to the customer.. covid compliant and very clean with great attitude about the situation at hand .. I highly recommend stopping in if you’re traveling or if a local .. this is your art shop!!! Enjoy the colorful creative atmosphere .. the owner is adorable .. so caring for her community .. I have so much fun while shopping in there!! I take classes while in town and appreciate the diversity of art and learning new skills.. great space. First Fridays are a fun way to get out and see Layor at its best!! I use golden paints and the selection is key for me. Go Layor!!! GO...

My friend Stephanie and I just took the Urban Sketching class with watercolors from James at Layor Art Supply. What and absolutely AWESOME evening. James was taught us so many different skills and techniques but it wasn't overwhelming. We met at the store for a quick lesson. They provided ALL the tools and we got to keep the note book! Then we walked to the Farmers Market and the 4 of us sat and he shared tips on perspective and composition. He adjusts his instruction specific to the student's ability. AND we got to shop in the store after hours with a 20% off total purchase. The classes Laylor offers are diverse and so much fun. I've already signed up for more this summer....

I’m a working artist and I love this place. Great spot to pick up genuinely quality paintbrushes, and a favorite of mine for sketchbooks, too. It’s a relatively small shop with a relatively small selection but I personally think that’s a plus, especially when what is available is high quality. Always helpful and friendly, and they offer classes and display local art. I’m a huge fan.

It is SO important to support local businesses. With Blick’s recent acquisition of MacPherson’s Art Supply’s inventory, many independent art supply shops are having an even tougher time (and I don’t imagine it was easy to begin with). Small, local art spaces like Layor need to be supported...
