Benton Motel — Hotel in Benton

Our visit was October 2025. Decided to book a room here based on other reviews. The owner is very pleasant, and informative. Lived previously in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and came here for the quieter slower paced life style. The main part of the motel is older; across the small parking lot there is a new structure that is stand-alone with what looks like 4-5 brand new rooms. We were in the older section, by the little outdoor patio and hot tub... Yes you read correctly, Hot tub and a little patio, very cute!.... We chose the older room as it was $20 cheaper and it didn't matter to us. We are only here for 1 night. Other reviewers said the older rooms are clean and redecorated. Our older room was super clean and perfectly adequate. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and looked as if it may have been remodeled within the last 3-5 years. Highly recommend this place. Some of the other area motels looked terrible. The owner is building an additional new section across the street, which will have several new rooms as well as a patio also.... No coffee makers in the room. However, there is a small room near the patio that has an ice machine and also has a Keurig coffee machine station. The cost was $80. I'd rather give a small mom & pop proprietor my money, rather than a chain. They are putting the money back into the place and keep it clean, and are redecorating and remodeling. The new rooms and the new building look fantastic. I want to stress that we were in the older section in an older room. It was quite cozy, the beds are comfortable and it was extremely clean. The desk and the dresser are older. Just letting you know in case that kind of stupid stuff...

Absolutely freaking awesome!! Our room was literally just renovated!! We called from the road to reserve a room very last minute, luckily snagging the last room, and Akash was so accommodating!! We checked in at the office at almost midnight, and he was still friendly, personable, and laughing with us. We were able to back up right by our room and unpack, which was so convenient at midnight!! The lot was well lit, but awnings and great curtains kept the rooms dark and cozy! The beds were exactly what I like, brand new, lol! No, I would say firm enough to support but not sink into. Our room was perfectly spotless, roomy, and esthetically beautiful! What I LOVED was the 2 sinks! One outside the bathroom with a big mirror and lots of countertop space. The barn door, pocket door, gorgeous dresser, huge TV, bathroom finishes, and classy countertops all made this feel like home!! The Motel was within a block or so of convenient food and gas but felt tucked in and residential. We felt completely safe! Little did we know we were staying at a famous place, so that's cool too! "Wonderful Stay with Thoughtful Touches!"

I was on a road trip from Texas to visit family in Michigan, and Benton was the perfect halfway stop. I had already decided to stay at the Motel Benton based on their impressive social media presence and great ratings. When I called Akash to reserve a room, I mentioned that I’d love a spot where I could park right outside my door. He assured me it wouldn’t be a problem.

After a long, cold, and rainy night driving through southern Illinois—and getting stuck in traffic—I called Akash to let him know I’d be arriving a little late. To my surprise and delight, he told me he’d turn on the heat in my room so it would be warm and welcoming when I arrived.

When I finally got there, Akash greeted me warmly, and we exchanged pleasantries before I retired for the evening. True to his word, my room was warm, cozy, and perfectly located with a parking spot right outside the door. I was impressed by how clean and well-kept the room was, with soft, cozy linens and pillows that made it feel extra inviting. For a motel that doesn’t aim to be “fancy,” the thoughtful touches really stood out.

It’s clear that Akash and his wife, Hilal, pour their hearts into making the Motel Benton a special place to stay. I truly appreciated their kindness and attention to detail, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on future trips....
