Stayed at the Huntley Lodge for a week during a trip to Big Sky. We stayed in a Legacy loft room which had two queen beds on the main floor, a sofa pullout, and a bunk bed in the upper loft area. The room was plenty big and had a great view of the mountain and overlooked the outdoor pool and hot tubs. Ski lift access is directly outside of the hotel for the explorer lift which is a slow two person lift. To get to the high speed lift with access to most of the mountain it is a slightly longer walk on the other side of the mountain village. The hotel was clean and the staff were very nice. At the front of the hotel you will be greeted by the cowboys that will take your bags to you room and they offer a shuttle to the lower village six miles away for tips. We took advantage of the cowboy shuttle one night with an easy ride to the village, but when we requested a pick up we were left waiting for 90 minutes that we later found out they forgot to send someone to pick us up. We were told they were short-staffed that night. There is a Mountain Village shuttle but it only runs to the lower village until about 730pm. I would recommend a rental car from the Bozeman Airport if you plan on getting around the area. The west entrance of Yellowstone is a little over an hour from the hotel, however it may be closed mid March through mid April. Access to Yellowstone's north entrance is two and a half hours from the hotel by car and is open year round. There are two outdoor pools in the hotel. One is next to one of the gyms with a hot tub indoors and the other pool area has a large center outdoor pool and two large outdoor hot tubs with mountain views. Both pools had a good amount of people in them each days peaking in the afternoon and evening hours. The hotel had two gyms that both have cardio equipment, free weights and some other some machines. The gym closer to the front of the hotel is nicer and has access to the pool with the indoor hot tub. There is a restaurant and bar towards the back of the hotel called Chet's. There is a large buffet area where they serve breakfast each morning. There are many other places to eat am in the village a short walk from the hotel. I had a great experience at this hotel with the exception of waiting for the shuttle one night. The short walks to the ski lift and the incredible skiing are great reasons to stay at the Huntley Lodge.

This is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at and we travel all over the country remodeling hotels, I've stayed in closed down hotels we were renovating that were better than this, there is BLACK MOLD all around our tub and 2 coworkers tubs as well, they have the smallest fridge I've ever seen you can fit a few drinks in there, it wouldn't matter anyway because there is not so much as a microwave in your room, you hear absolutely everything, every step the people above you take sound like they're going to fall through the ceiling, the doors have no closers and swing wide open which might be ok if the door stop was actually behind the door and not just the bare metal base of where a doorstop was. A lot of these things I can understand and could've probably look past but the mold (and them acting like it was no biggie) and the metal that messed my finger up (pictures included) really is just not ok..... the bellhops are absolutely wonderful, sweet, kind, and helpful and they are the only thing this place has going for it past that it doesn't have much to offer (except ski access) but there are far better places to stay on the mountain

This place is a total joke. Zero stars. For $750/night you get: No wifi. Check the pic below for an Internet Speed Test. I called the front desk to ask about it and the response was, "Yeah, when we're busy and a lot of people are using the internet, it gets really slow. You can come to the lobby for a better connection." Not just totally unacceptable, this is a solvable problem. Add capacity. Just ridiculous that every Motel 6 in the US has better wifi than the Huntley Lodge. Paper thin walls, and floors too. I fell asleep to the guy next door snoring; awoke to the people above walking around. (Almost) everyone hates their jobs. Super grumpy kids at the reception with no smiles and giving off bad vibes. By far the friendliest employee was the cleaning woman about to flip my room. Oversold parking. There is a gated lot next to the hotel but it was oversold. Only by the grace of the Parking Gods did someone leave as I was trying to navigate the dead-end rows. The two poor bastards who pulled in after me ... who knows. Never again.

We were excited to go to big sky for a conference and were there for a week without the kids. We got a discounted rate at $1400+ and were expecting a nice hotel based on the reviews and the cost.

This is our last night and while we have had fun but the hotel has been a nightmare.

Starting from the beginning you have to park a ways away down the hill and climb a ton of stairs. We were really annoyed that they didn't let us know how bad that trek was, as we went and parked just to climb a hill and a million stairs with our luggage and end up back at the main entrance. There is no elevator. There are no luggage carts till after you climb up the hill and the million stairs.

Then you start heading to your room and if you are lucky you will be so exhausted that you won't notice that the paint is chipped off the walls in places. If you weren't so tired from the million stairs you might be able to keep your head up and avoid seeing the horrible carpet from the 1970s that not only covers the floors but several of the doors as well! It just seems old and worn.

We were so happy to find our room was the first one we came to when we opened the carpeted door because we couldn't imagine carrying our stuff any further. That quickly turned into frustration as the first person slammed the door. The walls are so thin that you could here a mouse fart in the hallway. We clearly heard every word that was said in the hallway. We didn't hear the people above us as long as they didn't move.

The room was small, marginally clean, and dark with an even smaller bathroom. We had nice big windows that opened to the pathway going to the hot tub. That made it so that everyone could see what we were doing at all times. We thought we might get some privacy with the drapes plus it completed the dungeon motif but the drapes didn't close all the way. Luckily, the room included a random book about Michigan (not Montana) that I'm sure they provided so we could wedge it in the drapes to keep them closed.

Many of the TV channels didn't work most of the time but the flav-a-flav marathon was always accessible.

The second day housekeeping came but did not clean the shower. Instead of leaving mints on the pillow they left chocolate on our bathroom floor.

Housekeeping would come by around 9 and when my wife was sleeping in I would ask them to come back later. They never did. One day I called the front desk and asked them to come so they did. Today asked them to come back and they never came, so i called the front desk and they never came, I called Housekeeping and they never came, so I went to the front desk and waited until they said someone was on their way. They came an hour later.

We are currently sitting out in the lobby since we can't go back to our room at 9:45pm until they finish cleaning our room.

We planned to go to a free movie tonight but they cancelled it last minute due to a bluegrass concert that they have been setting up for days.

The staff was not super nice or helpful but not super rude either.

Our package came with "free" breakfast buffet. It is free but a tip is expected on a mediocre breakfast that they value at $40. The service is okay some days and horrible other days. This morning it was dead and our server only had our one table to wait on. So naturally she waited a few minutes to come over and get our drink orders and then brought us flat sodas (yes, we are heathens and ordered soda with breakfast) while we got our food. I could tell she was too engrossed in conversation with the other servers to come back and check on us so I decided to I chug down the whole disgusting soda! It didnt work and we had to wait about five minutes after we finished eating before she came back. I told her about the flat sodas but I could tell she had no idea what I was talking about. She just asked if I wanted another soda and I gave up and just said yes. Sure enough she just brought me another flat soda.

The food in general everywhere was mediocre but priced as if it were high quality. M.r. Hummers has good...

I am only giving it 1 star because it wont allow me to give ZERO or less than Zero If I can give less than 0 stars I would. From Check in to check out, the hotel provided one of the worst services I have ever experienced at a hotel. Check - in took over an hour. They attempted to give me one of the worst rooms in the house. Then tried to switch me to another room that already had someone in it! Yes, I had to get keys 3 times and try to get into a room that someone was already in. During this time, I went to try to park car but could not get in because I did not have room. BTW, I found out at end of trip that they had valet parking (they told me they don't tell people that though). Would have been nice to know. They found a room. A lesser room than I reserved that was cheaper than the one that I reserved BUT they wouldn't give me the refund of the difference as they don't do refunds. WHAT? After an argument they did.

While staying there, they did not clean room. The housekeeper said she forgot. What?

My son went to the gym In the gym a Yoga teacher was giving a private lesson to someone and told him that because her client paid extra that he couldnt be there. What? Since when is a guest not allowed to use gym just because someone else paid more $$$ Disgusting.

Concierge was not helpful in finding dinner reservations. They just pushed same recommended restaurants.

Upon checkout, I was told I had to bring all of my luggage to the bellman to store. even though it was on other side of lobby. Since when does the guest have to carry all of the luggage to the bellman? Shouldn't it be the other way around. The bellman tried their best to get me to put my luggage in car for the day (which was in a far away parking lot) rather than them putting in storage.

My original reservation was for 4 people. I ended up with only 2 people in room. They not only wouldn't adjust room rate but they wouldn't even adjust for the fact I prepaid breakfast for 4. So I was paying for 4 people to eat instead of 2.

There are too many other things to discuss

I will never stay there again, and I would recommend staying away if you want to stay at a hotel where they actually care about you and not...
