Everything about this trip and stay at the Shoshone was perfect UNTIL departure on 2/7 at 0800. I went to grab our rental from the self-park sub lot to find that one of the staff had intentionally MOVED my rental from where I parked it to the rear of the lot for what I can only assume was their "preferred" parking space for their personal vehicle. This was NOT a valet parking job, I had the only key on my person the entire week. They had to have dragged it out by a wheel and pushed it into a random spot in the back of the lot. When I questioned the valets on site that morning at 0800, I got a lot of sholder shrugging. When inquired about this through Vacasa we were gaslit. It is NOT OK to move visitor vehicles without permission or notice or key. There was no reserved parking space signs observed in this sub lot. And fortunately there was no damage noted by my rental agency. I would be seeking litigation if there was. I would have moved it if I was asked, and staff could have easily found me with the parking pass number hanging on the rear view mirror. Completely unacceptable and I will not stay here again because I do not trust your staff. Attached is a picture of the white Ford F250 that took the place of my white Grand Wagoneer rental.
edit 2/18: Shoshone management is gaslighting my comment. I find it laughable that you would pay a tow service to move vehicles with dollies over 3" snow pack. Snow removal? Please look at the photo I posted and show me what snow was removed? I parked next to that big snow mound and its still there. Who preschedules snow removal anyway? Bunch of liars running this place who wont bat an eye to cover for their friends doing unethical business practices. Dont touch things that dont belong to you. I will never...
Read moreWe arrived at Big Sky with reservations at The Huntley but discovered that we had been upgraded to a one bedroom condo at Shoshone. We were in room 1937, which was so clean and spacious. I wanted to give this a five star but there was some sort of miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping at check in and check out. We arrived early at 3:00 and asked if an early check in was posssible (check in is at 5:00.) The front desk said they would expedite our check in and call us when the room was ready. We waited in the lobby. At 4:45 lots of people were checking in (tour bus) so we got in line as well to check on our room. We were told that check in is at 5:00 and they would call us. At 5:45 we still had not been called so we inquired again. Our room was ready but they forgot to call. At check out we asked for an extended check out, checking out at noon instead of the 11:00 usual time. The front desk said no problem. We moved most items out of our condo before going skiing, leaving a few lunch items and misc. (including a cell phone) on the kitchen table. When we returned to the room at 11:30 to eat a quick lunch my cell phone was gone. It turns out that housekeeping came to the room and turned the phone in to the front desk. Not sure why this happened. We inquired about this when we picked up the phone at the front desk. They said that housekeeping had not been notified of our delayed check out. All of this detail to say that these two departments need a little better communication between one another. I do have to say that Erik at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with not only us but observed to be the same with...
Read moreFirst time at Big Sky and Shoshone. We had room 1969, corner room on 6th floor. Beautiful view of the mountain, and a sunrise over Lone Peak first morning. I booked 3 months in advance for a ski and stay package that included breakfast buffet every morning. The extensive buffet had something for everyone. Very quiet room, which I love! No noise heard ever from other rooms above, below or next to us. Room was very clean when we arrived. It very comfortably accommodated 4 adults. Nice firm mattress in bedroom, which suited my husband and I. Murphy bed was comfortable for my daughter and her boyfriend; they had their own bathroom as well. Front desk staff were always very friendly and helpful. Concierge helped me set up a Boyne rewards account.||||Really liked being able to walk back to room for lunches and extra rest. We were able to get groceries, beer and wine at Hungry Moose market located on the mountain in the Exchange/Mountain Mall. We ended up eating on the mountain all 5 nights, since the road coming up from town of Big Sky was blocked with a bus and cars sliding sideways, due to heavy snow. Had plenty of choices in restaurants with good food for 5 nights. Andiamo Italian Grille was excellent, reservations needed. Pizza Woks has excellent Neopolitan style pizza. Westward Social, newer restaurant, has a more limited "chef inspired" menu. Also excellent.||||Would definitely stay again. Lots more mountain to ski...
