This place really isn't anything great. They take full advantage of their convenient location. Montana Jack's knows how to Jack up prices! This is one of those places that a customer should probably ask the drink price BEFORE they order their "go to beverage." Otherwise, the bill for this meal will dwarf the bill you paid for your Big Sky day pass! Specifically the trout salad I ordered with extra trout was pretty lame. The Huckleberry vinaigrette tasted okay but the salad was meh. Ale Works in Bozeman gives way more trout for your buck if you order the gallatin valley salad with extra trout. If someone chooses to eat here, just make sure to remind them they are choosing Montana Jack's out of convenience. The food and quality of service are average. The prices are jacked up to a ridiculous level.

Nothing was good besides the service. The bar pretzels had a disgusting cheese sauce hands down the worst melted cheddar ever. Both our chicken sandwiches were burnt so we kind of ripped them apart and at it with our hands to avoid the burnt bottom. The sweet potato fries weren't awful. There was a band that keep encouraging dunk people to come up and Sing along. I thought it couldn't get worse until he most butchered version of vanilla ice came on. Our waitress was slow but very pleasant so that was a plus. A lot of the craft beers were meh at best and 3/8 were served warm (we did the 4 sampler thing each). TLDR - 2 meals 2 apps and 2 beer samplers were rough. Most of the boyne owned food isn't great drive a bit further for better food off the resort.

We hit this place on a Friday afternoon when hardly anyone was there. It was after a long hike and we stopped in for a few apps and beer. I had the spinach salad with strawberries, goat cheese, candied walnuts, and maple hard cider dressing. So. Good! It was very fresh and yummy! My boyfriend got the bison quesadillas and they were also very tasty. The outdoor patio was perfect for this summer day! It was a bit pricey for what we got, however. $15 for the salad and $13 for the quesadillas. That's the only reason I'm giving 4 stars.

We ate here on our 6 day trip to Big Sky Resort and it was just a really terrible experience. We were able to get a table with all of us to sit at and were seated promptly. We ordered drinks, a few beers and cocktails which were just way too strong to drink without adding water which I understand this is a pub style place and alcohol run freely but just to the point where it was just way too much. The food is a little much for the prices but you do get a large amount of food. Service wasn’t the friendliest from our server and took a long time to get drinks and food, so a few of us decided to just walk up to the bar ourselves to get more drinks while we waited for our other drink order. Our server came up to us at the bar and asked why we were at the bar drinking instead of at our table. I explained that we had been waiting over 10 minutes for drinks and just figured we’d help by grabbing drinks at the bar. We were then approached by a manager named Sarah, who asked us the same question and we explained that we were finished with our food and just wanted to have drinks but were still waiting over 10 minutes at our table for them. Sarah got very upset at us and said “Well if that’s the case you can find somewhere else to go!” We again tried to explain to her that we were finished and didn’t want to take up a table for just drinks. She than told us we couldn’t drink at the bar without ordering food and if we didn’t we had to leave. My husband explained that we were staying at the Summit hotel and were just having a few drinks before retiring back to the room. I called one of our friends whom was staying in the room next to us to come down in case things got out of hand, which extremely agitated Sarah who then said “If you do not leave, I will call security to have you escorted back to your room”. I said that wasn’t necessary and said we would leave on our own. She kept shouting “Go! Go!” as we were walking out of the restaurant and went to the Carabiner bar inside the Summit hotel instead. Being a 61 year old woman I certainly do not appreciate being treated that way and having stayed at Big Sky before I don’t expect their employees to act this way. We won’t be returning to Big Sky at all and will find a new sky resort to attend for...

Located right next to the main base of Big Sky, it is a very convenient place to grab food. However, convenience does not mean a good time. TLDR; horrible service, and mediocre food. Not worth the price whatsoever. Will not be returning.

We went there to grab some burgers and sample some local beer. We were seated at a table, which we discovered was incredibly wobbly. I asked to be reseated, and our waiter told us they had a couple tables like that with lose bolts, and that most customers sat at those tables had asked to be reseated. Well, doesn't that mean you should fix the tables instead of continually sitting people there? We were also told we were lucky there were open tables to be able to move.

We ordered beers to start, and we are happy to see they had a long list, however they were out of a couple. We ordered local beers and then waited probably 10 minutes for the beers, even though only half the tables were occupied. We ordered the fries pickle basket as an app, and then I ordered the buffalo burger while my friend ordered the jack burger.

Our food took a long time, and our appetizer was delivered at the same time as our entrees, with no apology. They had messed up the cheese on my burger, which the only fast service we received that day was the fixing of that burger. However, the fixed order was just the same burger with the unwanted cheese scraped off and new cheese slightly melted on. A piece of bleu cheese in the burger veggies remained.

The food was nothing special. We were also not given silverware or napkins. We took napkins from another table and didn't eat the coleslaw that came with the burger because we had no utensils, and who knows how long those would have taken to get.

When it came time to pay our bill, the waiter walked by and said he would get us our bill right away. 10 minutes later, he gave us the bill, and then 15 minutes later picked up the bill and credit card to cash out.

We were appalled at the customer service, and who continually sits people at broken tables? We will not...

In truth I have never given a "One Star" review and it would take a lot for me to do so. The 2-Stars are based on how the restaurant presented it self, from the description in the hotel brochure, to their own web site. "Craft Burgers + Craft Beers" , "High-end burgers in a casual environment" "Rotating Tap of National and Regional Craft Brews". None of these things are true, the burger menu is a rip-off of Burger-Fi and Smash Burger, nothing original, regional, or even local on the menu. The "Shared Stuff" menu sports some of Sysco's best frozen app's, including my "Warm Jumbo Pretzel" which was 3 cold mini pretzels. My "Classic Patty Melt" for $19 was over cooked, and on what I can only call Brown and White bread.. it was supposed to be "Marble Rye". It looked like Multi-Colored Chibata bread with absolutely no flavor. Blue Moon, Budlight, Sam Adams, Angry Orchard are not craft brews, and who ever is buying their beer, and/or recommending the pairings should quit.. simple as that. I get it, this is a restaurant and the bottom of the slope, and I'm fine with that. Knowing that I would have been fine with my entire order, but it sold it self as something else!! Simple as that! If your looking for simple eats this is the place! If your looking for them at a fair price, avoid this place! On a side note, if you walk in and hear a guitar... leave.. because it's so loud you will not hear anything else let alone have a...
