If I could give ZERO stars I would. This place has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. The hostess was also the owner (older woman, looks to be in her 70s) and she was the RUDEST person I've ever encountered at a business. We put our name on the list for party of 8. The wait was an hour. Ok, no problem. The guys went to snowboard for a hour, the women went back to resturants after 45 minutes. The hostess/owner says we missed our time when she called us. Ok, again, no problem. We asked that she add us back to the wait list. She did and had an attitude along with snarky comments. We were hungry and ignored her rudeness. She also said we couldn't be seated until all 8 were present. Ends up the guys aren't coming back so we asked to go ahead to be seated as a party of 4. Again she had the worse attitude and snarky comments. When she called us to be seated, she actually said "Corey, party of 4 but was a party of 8". We're finally seated and waitress takes our order. Waitress tells us the owner is rude and apologized. We wait 30 mins on food after waiting a total of over 2 hrs to be seated. Before the food ever comes to our table, the owner brings us our bill and says she added a 20% gratuity bc we are rude. We were appalled. SHE was the one that was so rude and how do you even think it's OK to bring the bill before receiving your food and the audacity to add gratuity for a party of 4 nice, friendly patrons. We got up and left and told her to keep our orders. As we were leaving the building we came across 2 other families who were talking about their horrible experience with her too. Apparently this lady is in the wrong business. The only reason she's still open is the location, certainly not the...

Great place to try some high quality meats and modern dishes. Came here with a group of 6 for dinner and basically tried 80% of the menu with dessert, multiple drinks and it was less than $800 of the total bill, not bad for the 6 of us(all things considered).

Our favorites were the bison tenderloin, the elk tip special and the mussels appetizer. The only mediocre thing was the brie appetizer and the cheese cake dessert. The mussels were most of the table’s favorite, and they were really good, I just personally thought the flavors were too pungent for the delicate meat entrees served afterwards and just not sure how the flavors of the dish fits into the overall concept of the menu but as a standalone dish it might be the best tasting dish on the menu.

Highly recommended for a special dinner, a little more pricey than the average but it was our last night and we wanted something special and the place did not disappoint! Make sure you get reservations though! Could not get a table otherwise. ...

The Cabin bar and Grill restaurant is a good restaurant with fantastic ambiance. A great Western feel with a log cabin setting. The menu is diverse, offering everything from Beef, Bison, Elk, Trout and a plethora of other dishes.

As a group of 8, we were able to try a variety of dishes. The meatballs were tasty but the consistency was a bit chewy. The trout, however, was delicious, both tender and flavorful with a wonderful sauce which did not overwhelm the natural state of the fish.

The only suggestion I would have is for the staff and management not to argue with patrons on the preparation of the meal being served. Though expectation of rare, medium, well done, etc. vary for different individuals, the patron should have the last word on how meat should be prepared and not be debated upon semantics.

Aside from this mishap, it is a good restaurant worth visiting on your next...

This is such a wonderful restaurant at Big Sky Resort - if you’re visiting the ski area, you should definitely make the effort to come here at least once. We’ve been coming here for many years and have always been extremely happy with the food and service. Prices were high, yes - but that’s expected at a ski resort. If you come here, you MUST try the brie in puff pastry because it is to die for, and their bison and elk dishes are fantastic as well. I don’t think they have their bison ribs anymore, but if they bring them back, definitely try them. However, this is one of those places where you could try pretty much anything on the menu and be very happy, so you can bring a large group and everyone will leave satisfied! All in all, a great place, and one we will continually come back to each year we visit Big Sky!
