Booked an hour massage for Feb 22, 2023. When I booked the appt I was asked for my credit card info and the woman said there was a 24 hour cancellation period otherwise I would be charged the full amount. It was my mistake to not ask for the cancellation regulations in writing because it does not include "cancelled flights". Someone from the spa called me on 2/21/23 (22 hours before the appt how convenient) to confirm. I was actually at the ticket counter at airport trying to get rebooked on a flight that was cancelled due to blizzard conditions in Bozeman. I told the women on the phone from the spa that our flights were cancelled and couldn't get there until after 3pm on 2/22/23. She had no empathy for our travel madness and said "sorry we have no other available openings and if we didnt show we would be charged". I told her that it was impossible because our flights were cancelled and she nickered and said "well if you dont show you will be charged". Im sorry but teleporting is fiction. Fast forward to 2 days ago while reviewing my credit card bill i noticed a $300 charge from Solace Spa. I called and left my info and Natalie (very pleasant women...sarcasm) called me back a day later. She said she had no record of my conversation with the staff and that I was basically making up the story to get out of the charge. REALLY?? The time it took to actually call and speak to someone cost more in my time than $300. Its the principal. We have spent thousands of dollars over the past years at Big Sky and they even refunded us for our kids ski school that was missed because of the weather. Big Sky as a resort is 5 star BUT The Solace Spa, pronounced "SOUL LESS Spa" Is a scam. Rude employees... especially the so called...
Read moreMy fiancee and I each got a 60 min massage. When we called to book..they only had the 1:30 onward available. Convenient when thats when the higher charges start. We were also told we would get access to the fitness center for that day so that was a nice perk. Overall the place is clean and nice. Too much product and clutter in the front in my opinion. They took us back quickly so that was good. Fiancee really enjoyed her massage. Mine was what i would consider "lazy". Alot of sitting in one random spot with pressure for 30 or 45 seconds. I get this technique if a knot or tender spot is found. But there was no rhyme or reason to it. It was random amd disorganized. Unprofessional. The biggest surprises were after the massages. Almost $100 in service fees above and beyond the $400 for the two massages. Absolutely outrageous. The most i have ever spent on a massage at similar and MUCH nicer resorts. The last surprise was the "fitness" center. If you can even call it that. Two small rooms right next to the entrance to the heated pool. No separation. The steam and moisture all over the walls, outdated equipment, everything. Black mold all over the ceiling, walls, etc. We quickly got out of there. Place is a disgrace. I would suggest searching for offsite spas and...
Read moreI am not one to write bad reviews. This is acutally my first one I've ever written. When I arrived, I was not shown around, and no staff attendants ever tended to me. To start off, the robe I was given had holes in it. My family of 8 was all scheduled at different times of the day because they only had one therapist on staff. Honestly, I felt sorry for her having to clean up after each of us by herself and preparing for the next person. After I was done with my massage, I was never checked on while I sat in the relaxation room, which is shared by men and women. We were out of hot tea and running low on the nuts and berrys provided. By the way, the pool and steam room is across the hotel lobby. This means you have to walk across the lobby of a resort lodge in a robe. When I took a shower, the water was luke warm, and the washcloth I used had holes in it. The towel I had also was ragged and didn't fit around my size 4 body. The manager was very unprofessional and rude. I posted this to save anyone else from spending unnecessary time and money. My family and I should have listened to the previous reviews. Plus, I was constantly reminded how I would rather be spending my money on a lift ticket, by hearing the clonking ski boots...
