We were visiting Bishop as a small family reunion trip. We had just finished a photo shoot that took wayyy longer than anticipated. We walked in 30 min before closing, a group of 12 and starving. They were also the only place still open that evening. We knew they were probably not happy to see us walk in. Understandably so, ha! However, they seated us and our server was great. He promptly took our drink orders and we decided on our food quickly as we knew the kitchen was trying to close and clean up. We all ordered something different... I had the salmon, it was cooked perfectly. The only thing is I didn't read on the menu that it was served with sweet potato chips. I wasn't a fan of that option, I thought there could've been a better option. Other than that, we all really enjoyed our food and drinks from the bar were on point delicious. Totally recommend the old fashion. The whole experience was very nice. The restaurant is big and nicely decorated, felt very warm and welcoming. The staff were so gracious even though we knew we were a bit of an inconvenience. If you've ever worked in the service industry, you know that's the last thing you want to see come in at 30 min before closing! We were so appreciative, the food was really really good, everyone enjoyed their orders. We did not linger, but we didn't feel rushed to hurry hurry either. We were tired from our long photo shoot so we were ready to get back to the hotel, happy with full bellies. We stayed in Creekside, it was a great place to stay as well. We highly recommend this restaurant for the service, food and atmosphere. If we lived closer I'd be happy to go back again and again. They were very...
Read moreIf customer service was a priority, this restaurant would be filled since Bishop is a connecting city , lots of travelers in the area. We were there on Tuesday June 17th. Had been driving for 5 hours. Get there by lunch time. The waiter seemed friendly until we ordered our meal. We chose the most expensive full rack of ribs, orders are served on a plate decorated with paper which is ok . Waiter refused to bring 2 separate plates so we can serve our ribs and shared coleslaw salad from the tray. Instead he told me friend to use the plate in which the BBQ sauce was brought to the table. He actually took the coleslaw and sauces himself and indicated to use that plate. I had to eat from the big player and as I cut the ribs the paper got mixed with my food. I hope the management takes the time to check the cameras and find my truthful statements. I was very upset about it but since lots of people are in need of jobs I didn't complain and most important I didn't want to embarrass my friend who was treating me to an expensive meal. I have always been able to use a different plate when order is shared and I'm sharing my review so this doesn't happen to anyone else. I feel I should've act immediately and not have to express myself writing a review. The other waiter noticed the situation and only smiled but didn't do anything to make us feel better. Now I understand why such an elegant place is not busy. There was another family in patio area. I'm sure the chef was doing a good job. The...
Read moreReally nice ambiance with a diverse menu, but maybe they should stick to one genre of food. My whole group was psyched to see they offered Thai food! And for a really affordable price. Unfortunately, the Pad Thai was not very flavorful and the Yellow Curry was very watery. In my experience, curry has a thicker, creamy consistency. This curry kinda just dripped off the chicken it surrounded. It was still tasty though! Our chicken and shrimp fried rice was really good though. Portions were large and the three aforementioned dishes were enough to share with me and two others. So while the food was tasty/mildly tasty, I’ve definitely had far superior Thai food for similar prices (we paid ~$50 for the three dishes). But hey for Bishop, it’s not bad at all—just not stellar. Service was also friendly
We ordered Crème Brûlée for dessert and it was really good. It came with three dollops of whipped cream with chocolate wafer hazelnut sticks in each one.
There’s a bar with fair prices, a modern electronic jukebox to play music for a small fee, and what looked to be a stage with a DJ table so I’m assuming they have live events. The restrooms were REALLY clean and plenty of options so there shouldn’t ever be a wait. There’s a nice waiting area in the front of the restaurant. Plenty of parking is available as well. Overall a nice experience! Just don’t expect Thai food like you’d get at a place dedicated to...
