A most agreeable stay at this outpost, mere parsecs from MSP. Hmmm, rest easy here, you shall. 🏨 Lodging Quarters: Sleek and clean, the sleeping chambers were. The bed? Firm, yet with a whisper of cloud-like comfort—perfect for a Jedi needing rest between missions. Lighting soft it was, like twin moons casting their glow. Even the young padawan beside me drifted off faster than a TIE fighter in hyperspace. 🍽️ Common Areas: A cantina it is not, but a fine breakfast hall they’ve crafted. Tables aplenty, seating strong in the Force (and back support). Morning fuel includes the classic galactic fare—pancakes, eggs, cereal, coffee and more. 🏊 Swimming Pool: Indoor sanctuary of calm, this pool is. Heated and clean, with droids (or chairs, for the Earthbound) assisting the weary. Padawan-approved it is—safe depths and clear waters, perfect for aquatic lightsaber training or splash battles. 🚐 Transport & Parking: A shuttle, they offer, running 24/7 to Terminals 1, 2, and the famed Mall of America (a temple of commerce, it is). As for parking? Fifteen credits a day, it’ll cost you. For that price, I was expecting a Jawa to wash my landspeeder too. A small toll it is, but for guests? Hmmm... nickel-and-diming, the dark side of hospitality that is. 💡 Final Verdict: For those journeying to or from the MSP system, this Holiday Inn Express is a wise waypoint. Clean, convenient, and calm—a beacon for travelers seeking balance, breakfast, and a bed. Would I return? Mmm, return I shall. But Jedi eyes stay wary of sneaky parking fees, yes.

I booked online thru the IHG app. No where on line in the process of booking did it mention there is a $15 daily fee for parking. It also negated to mention that you will be charged an extra $100 for "incidentals" that will be refunded back in 3-5 business days. I have stayed at SEVERAL Holiday Inns, and this is the first one I have a bad taste for and will not be coming back. The rooms are also lacking in cleaning. Upon entering the room, mirrors were dirty, window seal had several different spots of what looks like soda. The mirrors in the bathroom were dusty, and there were also dirt spots in the shower. For as much as this hotel is costing for 2 days, I'd recommend looking at the lodge that's right up the road with the killer pool. I wish I would have at this point with all the extra fees being charged at check-in. The photos added are only a few spots here. Not sure whos hair that is, but it's not mine. Now that it's been a day, I would also like to add the fact our sink did not drain at all. I pulled out my plumbing skills and the attached photo is what came out. I did see the comment below and 100% retraining or something needs to be done. I can see things that have not been touched in a long time just walking into the lobby. As someone who is not a cleaner for a living, I should not see so much dust on the lights and floors when I walk in.

A story about cheese that you just can’t make up. ⸻ I had one of the most unexpectedly memorable hotel experiences thanks to Mara at the Holiday Inn by the airport. I had brought back some special cheese from Wisconsin for my wife, but it turned into a bit of a disaster. First, I really didn’t think my aerobic cheese gift through. I didn’t even cross my mind that I would have to keep it cool all week long and then also keep it cool on my flight . So I bought ice packs from Walmart to keep it cold — only to realize my room didn’t have a freezer. I tried putting the cheese in a grocery bag with ice, but the cheese wasn’t wrapped properly, so it ended up soaking wet and, honestly, gross and stinky. I didn’t know what to do. That’s when Mara stepped in like an absolute hero. Not only did she offer to put my ice packs in the staff freezer so they’d be ready for my flight, but she also helped me dry off the cheese, re-wrap it, and even stored it safely in the hotel fridge. She even added a note for her coworkers so no one would toss it out by mistake — and reminded me not to forget it before heading to the airport. It was such a small thing on the surface, but it meant a lot. Mara went above and beyond, and her kindness completely saved my cheese — literally. Thank you, Mara!

My kiddos and I stayed twice at this hotel, once on the way to AZ, and once on the way back.

The first time we had a nice Suite, which was well taken care of. There was extra bedding for couch bed where my son wanted to sleep.

The second time was a standard queen room since there weren't any suites available to book when I planned our trip. When the front desk clerk pointed out there was no couch in the standard room, I said that would be fine, and that I'll miss having the couch but we'd make do. That should have been the end of that, but then she added, "Well that's what you booked." Yes, im fully aware of what I booked, there were no other options at the time. I told her again it was fine, and we'd make do with the room we had.

The standard room was not as well taken care of, as depicted by the few spots of black in the tub, and the fist sized hole of paint missing on one of the walls. Also I don't care for the curtains that were in both rooms. Difficult to roll up for one with early onset arthritis, and just...weird. regular curtains would look so much better in their rooms, and easier to open/close.

The food at the breakfast buffet was standard. No omelets as advertised on their website pictures, just scrambled eggs. People leave the trays open and the hot food gets cold very quickly, so I'd recommend another heating element to ensure their food stays warm for everyone, not just the first 3 guests.

The biggest highlight though, was the shuttle service. C.J. was by far my favorite driver. Even though we got in at 10pm, he was there quickly to pick us up from the airport and take us to the hotel. He even called me beforehand because in my tired state I'd selected on the app to be picked up from terminal 2 and dropped off at terminal 1 instead of the hotel. Whoops.

When that was straightened out, we arrived at the hotel after talking about the heat in Arizona, the cold in Chicago, and the many, many different types of cacti AZ has to offer. It wasn't a long trip to the hotel, but it was filled with laughs and stories, much needed after a long day of travel. Thanks, C.J..

Would I stay at this hotel again? Yes, but Suite only for the extra bed and better quality rooms. It's worth...

We were in town for a hockey tournament and picked this IHG property due to the fact that it was one of the pre-approved hotels. The reviews seemed ok enough. The room was ok nothing special, could use a little touch up. The staff was not friendly in the slightest down to the shuttle drivers. Nothing really to write about until it was the day of my check out. I called down the day of my check out at 130 am to ask for a late checkout. Asked for 2pm he said he could do 130 I said great that works! 1045(not even 11 which is check out) we are woken up by housekeeping, we advised him we had a late checkout, his response was "no English". 10 minutes later another knock, housekeeping again told this gentleman the same thing about checkout. Another 10 minutes later I get a call from front desk- good morning how are you? Check out is at 11 what time are you leaving ma'am. Proceed to tell her the same thing for the 3rd time now. How are they so concerned with when I'm leaving they bother us 3 different times literally all by 1115 am. Mind you checkout is 11. But they didn't seem concerned with the massive amounts of children running up and down the hallways all weekend. Screaming and knocking on people's doors at 1am. Maybe if the front desk employees weren't on their phones holding conversations or talking amongst themselves it would run a lot more efficient.

UPDATE: It's concerning that the solution to a problem within your team is to "ban" a guest. I wasn't the disruptive one nor was I the one being rude to your team. Also by chance I ever have to go back to Minnesota, I clearly would be picking another hotel. As someone who works for a hotel, I do have expectations that I hold myself to. I'm sorry your team fell short and this response is a direct reflection on this establishment. Have a...

I deliberately did not post yesterday because we were out enjoying life and all God has blessed us with our family at the Mall of America, and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. Wow, what a great staff they have there. Super clean rooms with every attention to all the details needed that equals great customer service and a great breakfast spread . It was not even the same thing the next day . Simply delicious ! Along with a shuttle service to the Mall of America and the airport, they treated us like kings and queens for a very reasonable rate, so much that we extended our stay. If you need a great place to stay, be sure to look this Holiday Inn Express up and tell Katie the General Manager that Cheesman sent you. You won't be disappointed. I had a late flight back from a guys trip with my friend Steve from Indiana and did not want to have my family drIve late at night last minute my wife found this option my new favorite place to stay with availability . I asked for extra towels and soap when my family arrived the next day on our anniversary and the house keeping began a full detail of our room I was blown away away at the detail of cleaning and speed with the white glove service performed in just minutes. Thank you all ! Katie your crew rocks ! We will not even look elsewhere next time we will have you saved for sure . I probably shouldn’t be putting this on blast because you will probably have to get more rooms so I’ll be able to have one lol🤩 but I can’t keep quiet good service is hard to find and needs to be recognized!||Happy Anniversary to my beautiful wife...
