We had the most bizarre and inconvenient hotel experience we’ve ever had here. We checked in late at night before an early morning flight for ourselves and our 2 kids. When we went to our room the TV was on, the bed was a mess, and there was food out. I’m grateful nobody was in there.
While my partner was getting that cleared up, I went to our car. We’d reserved parking elsewhere for the weekend since we were only staying for one night. Within 2 minutes of me looking up the destination, somebody with a flashlight knocked on my window. “What are you doing?” I explained I had a reservation there and that I was moving my vehicle to reserved parking elsewhere. The man kept badgering me, and I asked if he worked there. He wasn’t wearing any sort of uniform. “Sort of” I told him to let me be. It was pretty scary since I’m a female and was in a dark parking lot in the middle of the night.
He showed me identification and said he worked as a security guard and was just off-duty that night. He lived in the hotel and kept an eye out when he wasn’t working. He told me I could leave my car there for the weekend and it would be just fine. He gave me his contact info in case I needed to check on my vehicle. Weird, but okay. We’d been there for almost an hour and hadn’t gotten our room. I was happy to leave my car there. His name was Jamon.
When I went back inside to fix the room issue with my partner he followed me. He started raising his voice at the front desk while we were waiting to get this fixed. He followed us into the elevator even though we insisted we’d handle this with the front desk. We didn’t want to raise our voices or push harder because we didn’t want to scare our kids.
THE SECOND ROOM WAS ALSO OCCUPIED. Again, nobody there. But the beds were torn up and somebody was clearly staying there. At this point of duty security, Jamon, started KNOCKING ON RANDOM DOORS ANNOUNCING SECURITY. We told him to stop and that we’d talk to the front desk. We didn’t want to bother people at 1 am. He insisted he would find an empty room, let us in with his universal key, and fix it with the front desk.
At this point I raised my voice at him and told him he was scaring our family. That he needed to let us clear this up through the proper channels. He followed us downstairs again, and I pretty loudly told him we would handle this with the front desk in front of numerous people. The front desk person told him to go away multiple times. Finally, we got a clean room. We were vocal about him NOT following us up. I didn’t want this guy with a key and clear boundary issues knowing what room our family was staying in. At best he was mentally unstable, at worst he was on some sort of drug.
I didn’t want to complain until after the fact, because I was worried about my car being there for the weekend. We had no desire to leave our room when this guy was running around harassing people.
We were legitimately scared that night. If it wasn’t the middle of the night before an early flight, we would have left. There were issues on multiple levels. Why were we given 2 dirty rooms by the front desk? Why is some ununiformed guy who isn’t working knocking on car doors and following guests to their rooms? Why was he bothering guests at 1 am knocking on THEIR doors? I almost called the cops on him in the parking lot, and part of me...

I checked in August 15th at 2:30pm. I will note this is not the first time this particular front desk employee has made this comment. The first time he made it I informed him I thought it was rude to say. On this day I came in early for a trip I have the following day. While checking me in he tells me the Main Stay prices just went up a few days ago. Most Flight Attendants will stay at Main Stay as the rooms are cleaner and larger and we typically don't know how long we'll be staying while on reserve. I called ahead of time like I always do to book the room. I was given the rate with the airline discount which was exactly what I have always paid. At the desk I was quoted a much higher price even after I informed him I JUST booked through their call center and was quoted on a recorded line and sent an email with the original price. Exhausted, I just paid for the room with no further pushback. Before giving me my room key the gentleman asks me if I had been working for days straight. I knew what he was getting at as he's made this comment before. I quickly said no it's been a long day I'm working tomorrow while still waiting to just receive my key so I can run away. He comments to me how I look really tired and like I've been working for days. I tell him that's extremely rude to say to a woman. He laughs and doubles down telling me how bad I look and like I haven't had any sleep. After constantly repeating myself and telling him how rude he was being I finally let him know I am dealing with a death in my family so his comments are not needed. This is information I should not have had to share while just trying to check into my hotel room. With the recent issues with Microsoft and Flight Attendants being overworked and underpaid I did not find these comments amusing. The first time he's said it I let him know it's rude, but he seems to continue to think this is funny. The fact that I am in the process of grieving and still trying to get out of bed everyday to be met with some man telling a woman she doesn't look attractive to him is beyond disrespectful and disgusting. The new prices literally make them more expensive than other hotels in the area that give the crew rates and have far better rooms with nicer staff. Never have I ever checked into any of the other hotels in FULL uniform and called ugly. I am sleep deprived, depressed, over worked, and grieving. Now I am upset feeling as if I am unattractive and hideous. Thanks a lot Comfort Inn. I hope you don't continue to push people over the ledge who are barely hanging on. I will be sure to update our airline on how I was...
Read moreI have stayed at several other comfort inn hotels and never, ever, have I experienced such horrible service! My reservation. Was for 4 nights. Upon arrival the front desk workers seemed less then thrilled that. There were at least 5 guests waiting to be checked in. No welcoming smiles or even a "enjoy your stay". But are hotels no longer in the HOSPITALITY business???? First night we noticed something wasn't right with the air conditioner, it doesn't allow you to set it any cooler then 72. The next morning we noticed we only had 2 towels and no extra tp, water pressure was super low! We went for breakfast which was included. It. Was busy and the meat (sausages) was empty. We waited and they brought out more but definitely not enough for the amount of people waiting. The bread was empty as well and this was at 8am. We got some scrambled eggs which was very dry and tiny crumbles. There was no air throughout the hotel, only a fan in the breakfast area. When we got back to our room that evening we noticed the room was not cleaned, no fresh towels and no tp. The next morning we seen a cleaning lady in the.hallway and asked for some towels we got 2. Tried breakfast again, this time we waited because they were out of mostly everything. They filled some folded eggs (dry and rubbery),very little bacon but that was it, they pulled the blinds down at 8:50 and not only did they close the entrance door to. the breakfast area, but they also put the garbages in front of them. We came back that evening and noticed that our room was still not cleaned, no towels or tp. The next morning we asked the cleaning lady again and she said she didn't have any towels. My husband went back to the front desk and the guy there was on the phone yelling at some child saying "let me talk to your parents!" He said he would send the supplies up and never came! We were in a hurry to go to a wedding and couldnt wait so we went to all the floors(5) to find a worker who had towels, the girl would only give us one and didnt know english. We were late for the wedding so we didnt even go. The whole trip was ruined because of their horrible service! We drove 6 hours to get to this horrible hotel! We decided to just go home because we already missed the wedding and they still hadn't cleaned the room after the third request. I contacted the front desk and was told they couldnt do anything about it because the manager was not there. I called the next day and the manager was not there, but the guy demanded to know what this was about. After I explained every thing, he said they do not issue any type of refund or credit, he did not even offer. an apology! I will never ever chose Comfort inn again! Nothing about it was nice...
