My husband and I were travelling to Minneapolis to see a comedy show and decided to make a long weekend out of it. We were looking for a cheap hotel in the south end since most of the things we wanted to do were more south. This hotel is right near the highway and less than a 15 minute drive to the science centre, Minnesota zoo, and even downtown Minneapolis. It was also about a 4 minute drive to the Mall of America. I always review the crime map details of a location before I book it, and this neighbourhood is statistically safe (very low gun and violent crimes). I would describe the neighbourhood around it as middle class, or maybe upper middle class (lots of single storey, well taken care of homes, there's an Audi dealership and a Land Rover place.) The hotel itself was better than we expected (especially for being a 2 star and only costing us $277USD for 3 nights). There seem to be a lot of reviews of displeasure regarding the breakfast. When we booked it clearly stated continental breakfast. Continental is not a standard American or European breakfast. Don't expect hot food. That's not continental. Their breakfast was exactly what we expected from every other hotel we've stayed at that has a continental breakfast - bagels, toast, oatmeal, 2 types of cereal, coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice, a waffle maker (this is not always common so it was a nice treat!), and 1 type of fruit (apples in their case). If you want a eggs, potatoes, and bacon and stuff, then book somewhere that offers an American breakfast. The pool was lovely, the hot tub was the perfect temperature (just remember to turn on the jets). The hot tub is also quite large especially compared to other hotels I've stayed at (even fancier hotels). The bedroom was clean, our king size bed was comfortable, the pillows were amazing. It had an AC/Heater that you had complete control over, which I liked. I also like that you can open the windows (we were on the second floor, it was nice out while we were there so it was a great option to get some fresh air). The cleaner/sanitizer they use is quite strong smelling but the smell went away after having the window open for about 10 minutes, but if you have scent-based allergies and go in the winter, that's something to take note of. The bathroom shower was a bit outdated, but the tiling in the bathroom seemed newer. The bathroom is quite small (Shower/toilet) which some people might not like but we had no issues with. I like that the sink is separate so I could get ready while my husband showered. All of the staff we talked to were friendly. You definitely should have a car if you're staying here. It's not really walking distance to anything other than a gas station (it's more in a suburban type area), but it's a super short drive to a lot of things including restaurants. We also used Postmates and got delivery from some places around Minneapolis and never had any issues with them finding the hotel or the room. I've stayed at everything from 2 to 5 star hotels, and this was a lot better than a lot of 3 star hotels I've been at. We really enjoyed our trip and plan on staying here again when we come back to Minneapolis.

I didn't have very high expectations to begin with however as our stay went on we were continuously disappointed. Our king bed jacuzzi suite looked nice, it was pretty much a very large room with alot of empty space, and the small jacuzzi in the corner. Our small TV was hard to see from the jacuzzi. The TV also had signal issues, we noticed that half of the stations would cut out and had static and on top of that our remote would not function the with the TV. The jacuzzi jets did not work and when the jet button was pressed there was a very loud noise and one jet would hardy Bubble, the over flow plastic draincover was broken and jagged and it seemed that a few jets were slightly pulled out of the jacuzzi. When we first walked into the building there is a weird smell, something that you can get over but it's really strange and the building is a little stuffy. We noticed the buttons on the elevator were sticky and wouldn't come back out or would need to be pressed more than once. Our card key entry was also finicky, we would have to swipe usually more than once and noticed other guests having the same problems. Once we got into the room the fridge was open and it had thawed out, there was a water puddle on the floor in front of the fridge. Our hotel window was always fogged (even before we entered the room and was not due to the jacuzzi). The trashcans in the room did not have trashbags and the toilet paper was not pre-cut and was on backwards (not a big deal but abnormal). Lastly we were told (and the website stated) that breakfast ended at 10:00, however when we went down for breakfast everything was packed away and we were told they were done at 9:00 instead. The staff was nice but dissatisfied with our stay.

The room I got and other common areas in the hotel were very clean and organized. The Personal there was super polite and respectful. The only thing for me was the breakfast, I really wasn’t expecting a five or even a four star breakfast because it isn’t even a four star hotel… but out of the many 3-4 star hotels that I have been to, this one is the one with the least breakfast options. During my stay, in the mornings at breakfast time I felt like the front desk personal walked away from the front desk to do different things and I guessed that it was because they didn’t want to have to see people’s faces when we were looking at the poor options they offered us for breakfast. My first morning there I noticed that everyone was looking at each other… and I was thinking that it was because the guests were expecting maybe some eggs, sausages or any other kind of protein source or vegetables to be added to the breakfast table. Which I was hoping too! But nothing else never came! It was literally bread-fast, as “Freedom seeker” previously mentioned in a review about this same location. Only breads, cereal, waffle, juice, instant oatmeal. And to drink: milk, coffee, juice and tea… For spreads they offered: butter, syrup, cream cheese and jelly… and I forgot to mention that they also had some apples. They were mostly cheap starches, the breakfast at this location is not recommended for a person who is allergic to starch! All I have to say about this place is that, it is once again proven to me that “we get what we payed for!”. And I have to clarify that I nothing against breads! THANKS GOD FOR THE STARCH IN THIS WORLD!

I was a little nervous to stay here based on some of the reviews, but I'm really glad we stayed here. It was just me and my teenage son.

We stayed here during a birthday trip to the Mall of America. It was really close to the airport and the mall which helped a lot with transportation expenses. We took an Uber to MOA. We never waited more than five minutes and it never costs more than $6 or $7. There was also a bus stop right there. There's an Outback Steakhouse, Walmart and gas station very close by.

It was a very good price. Plus, we didn't have an upfront incidental fee which saved us money to use for shopping.

Check-in and check-out were really convenient via the text link that was sent to us. Therefore, we didn't have much interaction with the front desk besides asking for extra laundry bags which they kindly obliged.

The room didn't look exactly like the pictures. It has not been updated to reflect that aesthetic. However, it was a nice sized room for the time we were staying. It was clean. The beds were comfortable. The pillows were really small and a few had some sort of filling that was uncomfortable. I just used the ones that didn't have that filling.

The room had a blow dryer and an iron/ironing board. There were hangers and hooks on the door to hang up clothes. There was a good sized chest of drawers and a desk. The air conditioner worked well. The bathroom came equipped with towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner.

There was a very basic cable package. My 17 year old was a little disappointed in the selection but he was still able to find things to watch. We spent all day at the mall anyways so that wasn't a dealbreaker for me.

Breakfast options were limited, but good. They had waffles, bagels, toast, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, apples, juice, water and coffe. I just wish there was a protein like sausage or eggs. There's also a microwave. There wasn't a fridge in the room.

Honestly, for the money we paid, we really enjoyed our stay. It was so quiet! It felt like we were the only people there. Because we were going on a shopping trip, I didn't want to spend a lot on the hotel, but I wanted a safe and peaceful stay. This worked out...
