Herzing University - Brookfield — Attraction in Brookfield

I was accepted into Herzing University Brookfield after my previous college shut down towards the end of my program. I've had many negative experiences with this school but it wasn't all bad. The curriculum is extensive and will indeed prepare you for your career; if you are OK with being stripped of your individual identity to become a "P.R.I.C.E" robot.

I cannot speak for other programs, but I myself was enrolled in the Massage Therapy program and Dr. Ken (the program chair) was horribly verbally abusive and threatening. I once stood up for a student being harassed by this man and nearly faced expulsion for it. He has walked into classes and told us Flat Out that if we did not move from massage to chiropractic (which is what he does for a living) that we would never amount to anything in life. Two students began arguing during a massage clinical and I was belittled and screamed at by this man until I cried because I was "in charge of keeping them relaxed". He would never allow me to defend myself, or say anything to the contrary. He smeared my name with his superiors and made them all to think I was a delinquent so they would support unorthodox punishments for my anarchist behaviors. He once placed me on expulsion grounds for saying 'God damnit' when I found out I would have to miss my graduation. He once refused to allow me to retake a final exam when I was out of town for a Make a Wish trip my brother had been awarded. I cleared this time with the staff weeks before, by providing documented proof from the Make a Wish foundation but the tune changed when I came back into town. The entire staff will gang up on you, and bully you. He has, numerous times, told me that the Only reason he kept me in the program (so GRACIOUS of him) is because I am good at what I do.

I literally was so shocked and appalled by the staff treatment (Dr. Ken certainly being the main offender, but the puppets will do as they're told) that I brought my mother with me during an "expulsion" meeting so she could witness for herself the frustration I felt and she, too, left the meeting sick. "I Couldn't even give my own opinion!" she exclaimed, as the school director had Shushed her mid-sentence to tell her I was an adult who will fight her own battles. All of these battles were downhill. I can only assume the reason why they never actually expelled me was because they never had grounds to. They were threatening me to keep me 'in line' as if I were a child.

This school has an education made for the professional sell out. Where, those who are not good at what they do can succeed because they kiss A** and those who are good at what they do will be Punished if they do not agree with the hostile measures taken to subdue ideas that conflict with their "PRICE" model. Dr. Ken is a Coward and a control freak who easily made this the worst experience of my life due to his obsession with bringing me down. I have paid thousands out of pocket for retake classes through Herzing ONLY because noone else would take my credits. It seemed my only option was to walk through hell and live to tell about it.

And I did. By MYSELF. They do not want to help you.

I am ashamed that my degree came from this College and I would strongly caution everyone to stay away. There are far better schools that are run with consideration for it's attendees who pay good money to be there and have dreams of success beyond the...

I started at Herzing in the fall and although it has been challenging I know it will be so worth it. There was a time when I became frustrated and wanted to Q.U.I.T. But, Thanks to my advisor Kaitlynn I did not. She constantly reached out to me and provide me with resources that can help me along my nursing Journey. Nursing school is hard but once you create a plan, have a strong support system such as other students to study with, family to help with kids for long study sessions, advisors and teachers who show they are there in any way possible it helps with your success. There is a method to studying in Nursing school as well as for the HESI. A lot of students look at Herzing like grade school. They think oh we only went over this so thats all that will be on the test. You cannot possible cover 6 chapters in one class lecture. (so you have to read) Nursing school (HESI) questions give you questions from a clinical stand point. So do not expect if Johnny has 3 apples and he gave you 2 how many you have left? Professors can only cover so much in class. So it is up to you to read your chapters before you state we never learned about this. There is also a method on how to answer HESI questions and having a advisor like Kaitlynn to provide me with resources and support to learn how to tackle nursing school. I also had to learn that I no longer study the same so I can come up with a system that works for me. My second term I wanted to give up. BUT, if it wasn't for Kailtynn I wouldnt be headed to Clinical's. She is definitely on my Flower list when I graduate.

1 star? It should be no stars if that was an option. I came to this school in hopes of continuing my education from UW-Milwaukee. Closer to home, more student focused, etc. Everything sounded so great so I made the swap. It was the biggest mistake of my life! We study course materials, but exams are based off HESI; something we DO NOT STUDY! The HESI Final exams are 45% of your grade. Yes, that means if you do just the bare minimum in the course and pass the final exam with a high percentage, you'll probably pass. It's ridiculously difficult though since, again, WE DO NOT STUDY HESI. YOU MUST STUDY THIS ON THE SIDE ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE YOU HAVE TO STUDY! Sure, we have course work that covers some aspects of HESI questions here and there, but it is nowhere near enough to make you pass. You spend HOURS AND HOURS studying, almost to the point of 2-3 hours of sleep a night, only to find out your exams are NOTHING what you studied. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!!!!

Save your money, DO NOT ATTEND HERE! TAKE NOTE OF ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!!

Guess what? Higher ups KNOW about the situation with HESI and you know what the verdict is? TOO BAD SO SAD we have a contract so we're going to continue using them. Also, course materials will not change and tailor towards HESI. good luck! Yeah...high percentage of students passing? You mean the ones that stay and pass? That's because THEY HAVE AN EVEN HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE QUITTING OR FAILING because of their requirements but they don't want to report that....OF COURSE NOT! STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! GO ANYWHERE...
