AVOID THIS PLACE OR JUST BURN YOUR MONEY! SAME THING! THE ONLY REASON THEY GOT 1* REVIEWS IS BECAUSE THEY DON'T OFFER NEGATIVE STARS! Trust me, the health department should be called to do an unannounced, multiple secret room inspection at random days/times. Photos show a beautiful, inviting building, decent rooms & nice outside pool. Big screen security cameras at the front desk, showing multiple views on a big screen at the front desk, so I thought ... Cool, security. Stood in line behind 5 other upset guests & customer service was a joke. No Refund not another room given after walking in and finding nothing working and gross. Nothing was nice there except for the front office was nice, clean, impressive with an ATM for your convenience. I didn't do my norm, take pictures upon entry, as I opened the door. It looked like a decent, normal, low budget motel from the doorway. Then the shock began I saw 2 full size beds, bedside table & lamp between them. Against the opposite wall was a dresser, wall mounted TV & a table with 2 chairs. There was a (working) mini fridge & microwave on top but no telephone, just cut wires. No coffee maker. Vanity & bathtub had tiny bar of soap. Bath towels and washclothes looked brand new. (Other than possibly the 2 inner bedsheets, that was the ONLY thing new, nice & impressive). 0 amenities There is a nasty outside pool - closed, uncovered and disgusting mid July!! $132 for a night in the nastiness, most grossest places that I have EVER been STUCK to stay my entire life!! I didn't have enough money to pay for another room somewhere else & didn't get refunded my money. I was there to sleep before trying to travel home after an event nearby. The longer I was in the room the more I discovered wrong. Message at the front desk stated $20 per hour for each hour past 11am check out.. if you dare to stay until 11!! No drugs on the property 😂 or the police would be called. We went to the room and back down within 5-10 upon entering the room. Never Again! The 1st thing we found was 2 blunt roaches in the ashtray after reading "No drugs or the police would be called" as we checked in. On the lamp on the beside table was the empty blunt box upon walking. in and sitting my stuff on the bed. Like seriously?? I just sat my stuff on the bed. We laughed it off. Then I tried to turn on the lamp. No light bulb and not plugged in. 🤔 Tried to turn on the TV. Nothing. Unplugged also. Plugged it in and still no TV. Light came on but nothing else. Walked into the bathroom and there was literally human sh*t on the walls and area you hang yor clothes!! NoTV! No phone to call the front desk. No bedside lamp. First no light bulb was even in the lamp and it was also unplugged. The front desk did give us a light bulb but the lamp never worked. Burn holes in the comforters. Dirty mirrors. Just disgusting!! $132 for a night!!! I should be paid for staying here! There was 5 outlets in the room. The one by the vanity was hanging out the wall. The one by the bed never charged my cell phone after being plugged in 8 hours!! I went from 11% to 24% in 8 hours. There was 1 socket that if you could wait all night & kept checking, eventually you could get a minimal charge on the phone. I've stayed in some low level places but I have never been exposed to the nastiness of this room and was not given another one. I wasn't the only person who was at the front desk complaining about issues with my room. The only positive thing was the actual sheets on the bed appear new but the comforters are burn holes all over them. The towels, bath mat and wash cloths also looked new. They need to clean the walls and repaint them before another rental of the room we were given. They need to invest in new comforters to put on the beds. They need to fix the electrical sockets throughout the entire room so they don't hang out from the wall. In between the shower curtain was a dirty washcloth from previous guests. Gross The pool is not open & was gross! Keep driving & don't waste your money here!!! I know I am spoiled but this was...
Read moreIf I could leave a zero star review I would. This was hands down the most disgusting motel I have EVER stepped foot in. I had chosen this establishment based on the reviews I read that said it was a nice, affordable, and clean business. Those reviews could not be further from the truth.
Immediately when we parked, my boyfriend and I had a bad feeling about this place but decided to check in anyway, just in case the rooms looked better on the inside than the outside.
Firstly, the elevator was not working and our room was supposed to be on the third floor. I am disabled, so climbing 3 flights of steps is extremely hard on my body. I had indicated this to the woman at the front desk, but was told the third floor was the only available room.
As we climbed the stairs to our room, there was a very distinct smell of cat pee, which could also indicate that someone is smoking or making meth. There were obviously strung out people in the hallways and kids running around unsupervised.
Once we got to our room as soon as we opened the door, a strong and unpleasant smell greeted us like a slap in the face. It smelled like smoke, mold, and stale air that someone didn't even bother to try and cover the stench of. The floors looked like they had not been cleaned since the day they were installed. The bed was absolutely disgusting. There were cigarette burns and mystery stains all over the comforter. The 2 pillows looked like someone had just pulled them from a dumpster and tossed on the bed, they were obviously dirty, grey, and flat. The bed also had evidence that there may be a bed bug infestation though I cannot confirm that, but I would not be surprised in the least if there were bed bugs (and more) in the Rodeway Inn. Neither my boyfriend nor myself felt comfortable even setting our belongings down on ANY surface in the room for fear that we would be leaving with some uninvited guests. We have both stayed in lots of motels over our lives and we both agreed that this was hands down the worst motel either of us had ever been in.
We stayed in the room for less than 10 minutes, we were weighing our options to see if we could tolerate the room for one night and ultimately decided that the room was too disgusting for us to sleep in or spend any amount of time in. After leaving, we both felt itchy and gross after stepping foot in that room. Combined with everything we had seen on our way to our room, we mutually agreed that we would rather sleep in my car than to stay another second in that room.
We went downstairs to check out and I was told that I would receive a FULL refund from this business and it would take 1-2 days. This was on Friday 03/29/24. Before seeing the room I had booked it for 2 nights for a total of $220. Yesterday I checked my bank account (6 days later) and saw that I had only been refunded half of the price I paid for the room.
I immediately called the Rodeway in to inquire about the rest of my refund. I was told by the woman who answered the phone, Sonja that it was their policy to only refund 1/2 of the total cost. It did not matter that we were in the room for less than 15 minutes. When I told her that this was unacceptable, her tone and attitude completely changed and she was quite rude to me. After going back and forth for several minutes, she told me that the only way I might be able to get my full refund would be if I called the manager today and asked him to refund my card. I told her that this was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will be calling my bank today and asking them for a charge back.
Stay FAR away from this motel, we were able to get a room at the Holiday Inn for less money and the quality was easily 100 times better than the Rodeway Inn.
Don't waste your time booking a room here unless you are looking to purchase some meth or want to bring some bugs with you back...
Read moreThis Motel 6 is now called The Rodeway Inn and it deserves ZERO stars! My experience here was EXTREMELY disappointing. While they advertise having a swimming pool, it is not working. It is highly deceptive of them to include it in their advertising, then point to a sign when you get there saying that the pool is "down for scheduled maintenance." It is a lie. It has not worked for over half a decade or more, and they have no intention of making it work.
The furniture in the lobby is sparse, stained, and uncomfortable. The lobby itself has no air conditioning, adding to the discomfort. It makes one wonder if it's heated in the winter. It wouldn't surprise me if it is not.
The room was musty and smelly, and the TV remote appeared to have been crushed and put back together with tape. There was no power outlet near the room's desk, so I had to move the desk in order to use a laptop.
While they advertise that they have Wi-Fi, it did not work. They claimed the problem was with ME, my phone, and computer, which was VERY offensive. It took me multiple trips to the lobby over a couple hours for them to finally reboot the router and get it working... sort of. It was effectively useless, because while I could get the phone to find their EXTREMELY SLOW network, I kept getting bumped off. The laptop's connection was even more tenuous. Every webpage took several minutes to load and it was too slow to do any streaming of audio or video at all. The attempt usually knocked it offline.
So, while they DO offer free Wi-Fi, until and unless they get it corrected (which is unlikely) it is effectively unusable for little more than things like email or texts on a cell phone. Connecting to sites like YouTube or TikTok is not possible.
I booked two nights, but left after staying only one night and demanded a refund of the unused night. Unfortunately, this $80 room experience was not worth $20. I do not recommend anyone stay at this establishment...
