Normally I don’t do reviews. Service has to be exceptionally good, or like in this case, exceptionally bad. I found the GM to be pretty terrible and lacking empathy and the lady who checked us in I found to be patronizing. I’ve been going to IHGs since I first became an adult- so over a decade and then some. When there has been an issue (regardless of personal or facility issues) other facilities just say hey we understand the plight and cancel with no issues even with an established policy. Not this one. In over a decade of staying at hotels and probably close to total stay time of around 9 months of IHG hotel stays. Other issues as follows-
Pool is green. There is a pool supply store across the street and it doesn’t appear the facility knows it is there.
Not dog friendly. The “dog area” is with the smoking area. Not cool. No grass. If you have a princess dog like mine, good luck.
Not clean. There are multiple stains on the floor. My toddler found an old hash brown on the floor. I found multiple long blonde hairs (I’m a brunette and my hair is short right now). The tub is rusted in some places. The shower had nasty hair in it making it hard to drain and there was some up on the wall. Not talking singular hairs but ones that should been picked up or wiped off.
No WiFi- half the hotel is under construction (per GM) and the man at the desk says there are too many people on the WiFi for us to get on. Half the hotel is empty and we can’t get WiFi seems like false advertisement.
safety issue- toddler, husband and I have terrible colds. We think hey, one of us will shower and the other will hold toddler in the bathroom for steam and help loosen the toddler and us up. Water just doesn’t get hot. It’s time for the toddler to get washed up and mid wash the water turns to a fiery inferno making even my skin red. Yeah.. real thrilled about that one. For clarity- the handle wasn’t moved and went from lukewarm to fire.
Another safety issue- this is supposed to be a “secure” hotel but rocks, hoses, and whatever else has these doors opened. That isn’t safe and doesn’t match the posted signs. If it has to do with construction- “In an effort to provide you with the best quality of stay we will be refreshing the property beginning in late July. We don't expect this to impact on your stay.” It does.
There is also no cold water. We let the water run a few minutes and nothing. Luke warm or inferno only.
We paid for comfort and amenities. We found poor cleaning, poor practices, and a GM with poor people skills. I recommend going closer to ASU if you want...

Read moreI'm not a very picky person, but when you PAY for something....... I made reservations 2 months in advance I understand that I ordered them through a third party and cancellations are almost impossible after cancellation dates, but after staying a couple of nights I asked for my refund of a deposit that I had put down for the week! now I was charged by the hotel not the third party website they almost refused my check out. Now, the general manager handles it with Expedia and I appreciate the fact that he let me leave his hotel after charging me for two nights for an empty room that I did not stay in that was the only way I could be released and check out if he added two additional nights to cancel my reservation I will never be going back to Holiday inn the music outside of my room kept me up all the nights I was there the staff was friendly but to an extent it was very robotic there's one way in and one way out. For having arthritis, the water temperature wasn't warm enough for me I felt like I was taking a cold shower everytime. I tried my best to make it work for my family of six and animals but it just wasn't they gave me a very hard time for the same price I'm at home2suites and we are more comfortable than ever this is the best hotel in buckeye I've been here for 15 years. That was my experience at holiday inn! Gipped out of 300$ . I'm moving on. Btw, pull out beds are a no go there! Not...
