My husband and I went in to shop for some boots on Saturday, 8/26/2023. Every year, he gets reimbursed through his workplace with a voucher for Boot Barn. The voucher clearly states that he can purchase anything - not just work boots. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We picked out a pair of cute boots for myself, then went to the cashier to pay. The cashier was a young girl; she was super friendly and professional. My husband handed the voucher to her, and she started to process it. All was good until an employee named PJ (she couldn't have been a manager because managers have common sense and customer service experience) came up to the cashier for something else, but when she saw the cashier was processing a voucher for women's boots, she looked at the voucher and loudly said, "the voucher is for work boots only." There was a line behind us, which made this scene embarrassing. My husband responded, "No, it says I can use it for whatever I want from this store." She replied, "It says here on the voucher that the boots need to be composite steel toe boots." My husband then pointed out the big, blue, bold font that says the customer can purchase any item from the store. All PJ said was "oh" and walked off. She didn't even bother to apologize.
PJ, this one star review is only for you. Next time, don't assume that just because it's a "corporate voucher," all corporate vouchers are the same. READ the whole voucher. Take a class on customer service, and don't be afraid to apologize when you act like an a$$

After about 2 weeks no call I show up to get the boots they weren't even put on the stretcher I think they were just sitting on the back table somewhere so I resubmitted the boats for stretching they said they'd call after about a week I came in and again when they went to get the boots in the back room they weren't on the stretcher I have a Christmas party in 3 days and there's no way I can wear these boots. One girl at the front was asking the other girl if she got the boots off the machine in the back she said no they weren't on the machine they were sitting on the table which tells me both times they probably just sat there waiting for someone to put them on the machine. Forces me to spend more money I have to buy boot stretching things to do myself. It just sucks because you pay for boots at Boot Barn you expect to get the services that go along with it that's how they convince you to buy their product but if they're not doing the services what's the point. Like buying a car with an extended warranty and then when something goes wrong they don't validate the warranty. Very frustrating like I said they're good kids very nice well-mannered. When I brought the new pair to the front, the staff asked for the phone number associated with the purchase. I gave them the number of the person who gifted them to me, but nothing came up in their system.
The employees at the front told me I had to provide a phone number in order to do the exchange. I called the person who gifted me the boots, and they explained that no one had ever asked them for a phone number or email at the time of purchase. Despite that, the staff kept insisting that I needed to provide one, instead of simply offering to use my information to create an account and complete the exchange.
On top of that, the woman I assume was the manager was extremely rudeāshe raised her voice at me and repeated that they āneed a phone numberā to make any exchange but didnāt explain that they could have created an account for me. All of the staff at the counter came across as unprofessional, dismissive, and unhelpful, when the situation could have been handled kindly and with better communication.
This was a very frustrating experience, and because of how I was treated, I do not plan on returning...
