This is the birrieria you’ve been searching for! Para los que hablan español: ya sabes que esta birria es bien rico y te va a tocar el alma! La dueña me dije que les usan la receta de su abuelita de Jalisco. ¡Muchísimas gracias abuelita!
For the English speakers: I was born and raised in California and spent 6 months living in Nayarit on the west coast of Mexico. I’ve become very familiar with birria and was sad to move away from all the good birrierias. I’m so stoked to find this place! The kind woman running the place was very proud to say they use her grandmother’s recipe from Jalisco - the birthplace of birria she says!
What a gift for her to share her family recipe with us so far from her family’s origins. I can’t speak enough about how damn good this birria is. If you’re looking for true authenticity, get yourself 3 tacos de birria con consomé and a fat cup...
Read moreNeeded a place to grab lunch on the way to Whidbey Island and saw this pop up right on that last i5 exit. It was a food truck on a large parking space — plenty of customers. We ordered tortas with their specialty — Birria. Wow it was some of the best we’ve ever had. Bread was toasted on a grill with butter, veggies were crisp and fresh, Birria juice wasn’t drippy, their salsa verde is super good and wasn’t mucoso like in most other places.
There’s a separate snack / dessert menu with elote in a cup. So glad I found this place. There were entire families falling in line cheerfully waiting for their food. This place seems to be a local gem and I’m glad we found it. If you’re driving to Anacortes or Whidbey from Seattle make this...
Read moreThe ladies working were very nice. However it's quite overpriced. I ordered 1 asada taco, the nachos, and 1 cup horchata. The total was over $17 before the tip. I enjoyed the taco, nothing different from other taco trucks but that's perfectly fine as they are great exactly how they are. Unfortunately, the nachos were the cheap round tortilla chips with the cheap pre-made (almost sure it was the canned) cheese sauce with a scoop of sour cream and jalapenos. The exact same as 7-11 nachos, but twice the price. The horchata which was slightly bland that day, wasn't bad, just the price was. I was mostly disappointed in the lack of authenticity as that is what I love most about eating at...
