Sounds like I was unfortunately waited on by the same cold unfriendly person that a couple of other reviewers have called out. It is not subtle; the attitude and rudeness. I walked in to hear an elderly lady ask where she could get a napkin since the counter dispenser was empty. She was told “just come up here and get one”. She had three drinks in her hand! She put her drinks down and began to open the cabinets below and finally found herself some. We ordered our drinks. Straightforward. Neutral interaction. But as she (employee) was making our coffee, I asked how much the coffee mugs were. I got “I think they’re around $30”. Then I said “all of them? Because there are different styles”. I got the irritated shoulder shrug followed by “I don’t know…..like I said they’re around $30”. So…..I went to the restroom, empty of soap and paper towels, but that’s minimally bothersome. When I came out, I noticed said rude employee was on the window, so I asked the shy but sweet lady to price check the two mugs I was interested in. And made my purchase with her. I even asked her opinion on the color and she smiled and re-enforced my choice. Like a normal customer/employee exchange.
FYI, we were here because we were charging our car in the Kohls parking lot. So in the 30 minutes we were there, the napkin container never got attention. Also, I would’ve bought both coffee mugs if I felt my patronage was desired....
Read moreThe coffee was good but the barista that helped me out did not provide good customer service. I should have gotten her name but she was working today Friday dec 17th at this whidbey coffee location at 2pm. She was short with dark hair. I was standing in line wearinf my mask, I was behind a White young woman who she was helping at the time. When I got to the desk the employee did not have a mask on, so I was able to see her facial expression. She just had blank stare, did not greet me, did not say hi, did not ask me what I wanted to drink did not even tell me what my total was for my order. I felt very unwelcomed. So I just said hi to her myself and made my order. She rang up my order, I gave her my card and she gave it back to me with the receipt and a pen, did not say a word to me so I assumed I just had to sign the receipt. After I left the desk I said thank you. She did not respond to me at all.
After she called out my drink I came up and picked it up. I was wondering if it was because I was asian? Or I looked African american? I am dark skinned. Next time I go there I wonder if I will be treated differently if I had my camera on my phone? I've never had anybody treat me that way at ANY coffee stand. This was a different experience for me so I just had to post and...
Read moreBeen coming here consistently for a couple years. First of all the drip coffee is BOMB best in the area but also it's self-serve so pros and cons with that. Second the parking lot is always weirdly full. WFH campers? I don't know but save yourself the hassle and park in the big lot next door and walk over. Third we used to love coming here for seasonal morning pastries like scones/croissants. I was told they get a shipment every couple days so if you don't show up on the right day before the morning rush there's no scones or croissants to be had unfortunately. Lastly they used to be awesome in giving our dog a pup cup (little tiny cup of whipped cream) but in the last few months was told they don't do it anymore so I guess economic times really do be that bad though? We find ourselves going to Woods across the street way more just due to inconsistency and falling service here (and because my dog loves those pup cups and I love my dog). I'd give the Whidbey drive stand north of here 6 stars if I could for their baristas awesomeness alone though and we'll still go to that one for just coffee (understandably their pastry selection is much smaller at the stand location). Anyway hoping better days ahead for this spot because it seems like it used...
