I absolutely loved this hotel. Sadly, we were only staying for one night, as this was the last leg of a longer trip to Acadia and Portland. We were in town to see the Red Sox game. This is a hotel that you can spend a week at and need for nothing. First, the design of the building is so elegant. The stacked stone around the perimeter and the HUGE windows looking out to the courtyard make it feel like you're in a gilded mansion. The lobby features a huge seating area with multiple tables, a coffee bar, and a cabinet of books, puzzles and cards. This is a great space to spend family time or quiet time in a cozy nook. It doubles as the breakfast area, so seating can be tight at certain times. When we arrived at 9 am on a Saturday all tables were taken. We had to stand up at the counter. Eventually, we transferred to a table. Speaking of their breakfast, it was wonderful. The best out of the three hotels we stayed at during this trip. It featured; hot eggs, sausages, potatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt bar, bread selection, and make your own waffles. The food was always replenished quickly. The other amenities at the hotel are a weight room, which was well-equipped, a large outdoor pool that was totally refreshing on a hot August day, and a full court basketball area. The kids loved this. You can get the ball from the front desk. There were two gas grills in the courtyard under a pavillion. If we had another night or two during this stay, we would have grilled some steaks. The rooms here have been recently updated. They are furnished with contemporary furniture, but almost feel like a nod to mid-century mod. The kitchen is fully functional with a full-sized refrigerator and a cooktop. Rarely, do suite hotels offer cooktops. If we were staying longer than one night we would have definitely done some home cooking! The living room has a desk with a lamp that had many charging ports and a great couch. The couch pulls out to a full-size bed. The bedroom has two double beds. You do feel that they aren't queens when two people are sleeping in them, but the bedding was extra comfortable. The bathroom is through the bedroom. The sink is separate from the shower and toilet which helps when multiple people need to get ready. The room had two TVs. One for each living area (living room and bedroom). The housekeeper let us look around the 2 bedroom. Oh boy! I wanted to move in. This suite has two full baths and a very large kitchen and eating island. This is a dog-friendly hotel. The relief area was supplied with bags and a trash can. All the doggies were well-behaved and you never heard them. I just loved our stay here. When I return to the Boston area I will definitely rebook this hotel. When traveling to other cities, I will surely look to stay at StayBridge properties. I used to always look for Home2Suites because I like their room configurations, but I'm now sold on StayBridge. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone. As a bonus, there are bunnies hopping around...
Read moreThis hotel is not fit for guests during their renovation.
When we booked, we were informed there was an ongoing renovation, but that it would not impact our visit. That was a lie.
There were no mirrors in the bathrooms. There was no solution for this issue, when we told them.
There was no couch in the living room. When we called about this, they provided an additional armchair. This was not enough seating in the living room for our family, and we were told that new couches for renovated rooms were on order but had not arrived.
The televisions in the room were not fully functional, not connected to any source of Internet, and the settings/options are almost fully locked out of use control. When we called the front desk, they gave us a number for offsite tech support, and seemed to not know anything about the issues. After a 30+ minute phone call, the representative from the tech support firm informed me that there was nothing they could do, as the necessary infrastructure and hardware for them to service the TVs did not appear to have been installed or hooked up yet.
On our last day, the renovation workers caused the fire alarms to be set off 5+ times in a roughly 2 hour period in the morning, including once when we were about to shower and once when I was actually in the shower.
When we brought our concerns to the front desk staff, we were told âmaybe this isnât the hotel for you then.â
I would HIGHLY recommend that no one stay at this location until they can confirm that renovations have been completed, and that the staff had been fully and properly retrained.
We were supposed to stay for 2 weeks, and forced to find other accommodations after 3 days instead, that at least provide all the basic amenities you would expect from a hotel.
I rated location 3 stars, but honestly you could just as easily book the Homewood Suites a few minutes away, or the Hilton Garden Inn across the street from this place. Youâd still be just as close to the highway in Burlington, but likely have a better overall...
Read moreAfter driving all day we checked in and went to our room. As I began to make drinks for us, I noticed that there was a puddle of water in the middle of the kitchen floor. There was absolutely no sign of where the water would have come from, as the floor was dry between the dishwasher and the puddle, and no leaking was seen from above. We requested to be moved to another room. Once settled in this second room and relaxing on the bed, we began hearing noises emanating from the closet/bathroom area. My husband, being tired said he wasn't going to investigate it, saying, "I don't want to know what is in the closet.". A few seconds later we heard a loud crash in the same area, we ran to the bathroom, turned on the light, and found that the ceiling was falling in the bathroom and leaking into our bathroom from above.
I went down to the lobby and informed the manager on duty and asked that he come up to look at the problem. On the way up he asked why I was even asking him to come see it. I said that I wanted him to be aware of what was happening and that we were in no way responsible for the ceiling falling in on us.
We asked to leave the property immediately and get a full refund. The manager's response was that it was fine to leave, but we paid with points so there shouldn't be a problem. I reminded him that I paid with points and cash. He cancelled our reservation and that night I complained to IHG Guest Services. We were compensated back in points for our entire stay.
The IHG app states that this is a new property. It may be a new property to their collection, but it is in no way new. It is a disaster. In addition to all of the above, the hallways had a horrible...
