I am never going back to Tous Les Jour again. I feel robbed.
I spent about 5 minutes in Tous Les Jour with my wife, we bought a few pastries off the shelf. When I go to check out I'm greeted with an unskippable Tip menu. I get tipping at a sit down restaurant, but at a glorified, over-priced convenience store? Where I had to walk around and pick out and carry my own food? What reason would there be to tip?
So I select the "no tip" option. Lo and behold, my selection was fully ignored and a 20% tip was applied.
It's $4, not worth making a scene in the store or taking the time to fight for back. But I will certainly never go back. It is dishonest and disgusting. Shame on you for ripping off your customers. I hope you enjoy the $4 because you lost a longtime...

Read moreThis place has gone from caring to attract customers to “we really don’t care at all.” You might get lucky and get one of the more seasoned older women behind the counter to help you with your purchase but that’s often not the case. The younger employees are rude, unfriendly, and indifferent. The bakery opens at 8:30am but their products are not available until 10:00 am. I used to be able to get warm pastry and a decent cup of cappuccino but that’s no longer the case. The employees are more concerned with standing around chatting with one another & fixing their hair rather than helping the paying customers.
