I have stayed at this hotel over 70 times this year. I requested our corporation use this property exclusively and we have for the last 2 years. After a week in a suite, operations finished early and I left Sunday afternoon. As a diamond member I receive a discount on food so I charge to my room and pay prior to leaving. Since one of my meals was a chicken sandwich that had to be returned when I discovered it was so raw in the middle it was dark pink, I only had 1 charge this trip. Proceeded to the front desk to pay the $8 I owed and did so with the woman via the pin pad as a debit transaction. As I returned to my room a few mins later I received a notification from my bank of an overage do to a charge of $100 from the hotel. This debit charge on my account I quickly returned to the front desk to question. At which time I was told she had made a mistake and it was already removed and should be returned to my account by later that evening. It was not and I have since incurred fees because of the unauthorized and unaware debit charge manually done after I had left the desk. So now 2 days later I finally call to inquire about the still pending debit charge. I was told at 10pm when I called, a manager would be in and after my information all taken, that she would reach out sometime after her arrival at 11pm. 2am I finally reached back out after not receiving a call. At which time i was informed by Natalie that the only charge showing on her end was the $8 restaurant fee that posted. There was no pending $100 charge. That was actually an automated charge that their system did when my $8 debit payment was authorized. All of which are lies. The $8 charge I authorized never posted to my account for some reason.. The one she has on her end is oddly not on mine. However the debit charge of $100 that came out of my account she has no record of at all. It's an issue I need to take up with my bank I was told. Accidents happen. I get it. But I am having trouble understanding not only how a debit charge that is obviously changed manually could be an accident , but a mistake immediately admitted to when it was caught ....and had been taken care of before i even returned to the front desk seems suspect. Questionable also is the 10 mins i waited with noone at the desk right after this happened . She did not reappear until i eventually found a restaurant employee to track her down. Something is off. A debit charge is not automated or something that I've been blatantly lied to about by a manager before in an effort to cover up an honest mistake . And now in hind sight ,the fact i have had fraudulent charges and had to close this same account twice over the past year .... what I previously had attributed to skimmers possibly at gas stations while traveling...... now makes me wonder if that's the origin of those thefts. Needless to say I have zero trust in this establishment after what has transpired. I no longer will be using this hotel under these conditions and plan on insisting we remove the corporate account linked to this this property out of precaution as well .This "accident " accompanied by the lies has just lost them our business moving forward. And if you have previously stayed here i would suggest checking your bank statements.
*In addition -checked out via phone at 11am monday 4th do to issues in app and inability to checkout . Just received bill . shows $8 credit not charge as well as my check out date ....the 5th!! Charged an additional 292 for night of the 4th after i checked out. Guess another automated charge out of their control as well. wow ** Bryan reached out prior to the posted response. Apologetic was anything but the tone of the 15 minute conversation outside the public eye....
Read moreMy fiancé and I went to Philly to see the Van Gogh Immersive experience (Highly recommended!). We decided to have a nice dinner and stay the night instead of driving home to the Poconos, so we used some Hilton Honors points and booked this Hilton Gardens. The hotel is very nice and sits right across the road from the waterfront. The lobby is large with seating areas, and it was very clean. Check-in was fast and easy, and Dawan was very friendly. However, I was disappointed when Dawan told me that this particular Hilton only upgrades Diamond members (we are Gold). We have stayed at the Hilton at Penn's Landing across the river on both my account and my fiance's several times and have never had a problem getting an upgrade when available, and this hotel looked far from being fully booked (understandable since it was mid-week). So don't expect this Gold member's perk here if that matters to you. The room was nice, but average. It's great that they have a Keurig machine! There is also a microwave and fridge. The bathroom was small, but adequate. The shower had a curved curtain rod so it made showering feel more spacious. There is a "walk in" wardrobe with a full-length mirror and a good amount of space. A great place to keep suitcases out of the way. The beds/pillows were comfortable enough. We both slept well. The one con about the room was an odd smell. It wasn't so much a bad smell, just an off kind of chemical smell. I think it might be the cleaning chemicals they use. I wasn't a fan of it, but after being in the room for a little while you don't really smell it anymore. The room was clean. I would have liked to experience breakfast but was told it ended at 11. Apparently that is only on weekends. Otherwise it is at 10. We went down at about 9:30 to put our luggage in the car and as my fiancé was doing that I was chatting with the front desk person about having breakfast, then we walked over to the dining area and we were reading the menu at the front for a couple of minutes (meanwhile there was a girl watching us from the bar area in the dining room). After another few minutes when she, nor anyone else, came to seat us we walked in. The girl then tells us the kitchen is closed and they close at 10. I told her that we were told 11 and looked at my watch and told her it's now 9:50, still not 10. She said sorry, they've shut down the kitchen and won't open again until 11 for lunch. So with the time we were standing there, it seems they close breakfast at about 9:40. I did go to the front desk and asked the girl I was speaking with why she didn't mention this. She said that she was sorry that it was closed. When I showed her it STILL wasn't 10 yet, she just apologized, but that was it. So we didn't get to use our breakfast comps either. So in conclusion, the hotel is fine. I didn't check the actual rates, but for points it was a little lower than the Hilton at Penn's Landing, so pretty average. The room was fine, the location was nice too. But if you're going as a Hilton Honors member I wouldn't recommend it. I didn't feel valued...
Read moreI was recently invited to speak as a keynote speaker at the South Jersey Chamber of Commerce's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging event. The event was held at the Hilton Garden Inn, which I found to be a very welcoming and accommodating host. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. I was particularly impressed with the hotel's commitment to sustainability, which is evident in their use of eco-friendly products and practices. The South Jersey Chamber of Commerce was also a gracious host. They were very organized and professional, ensuring I had everything I needed to deliver my presentation. I was also impressed with their commitment to diversity and inclusion, which was reflected in the makeup of their membership and their programming. I was delighted with my experience with the Hilton Garden Inn and the South Jersey Chamber of Commerce. I highly recommend both to anyone looking for a comfortable and professional place to stay or host an event. My presentation on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging In my presentation, I discussed the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and highlighted the contributions of the Native American Advancement Corp (NAAC), the Cohanzick Nature Reserve, and the Nanticoke Lenape Nation. DEIB is essential for building strong and thriving communities. When everyone feels welcome and included, we can all contribute our unique talents and perspectives. This leads to innovation, creativity, and a more just and equitable society. I was honored to have the opportunity to share my story and my thoughts on DEIB with the members of the South Jersey Chamber of Commerce. My presentation will help to raise awareness of these critical issues and encourage others to take action to promote DEIB in their communities. Native American Advancement Corp (NAAC) The NAAC is a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of Native Americans in New Jersey. The NAAC provides various services, including education, employment, and housing assistance. Cohanzick Nature Reserve The Cohanzick Nature Reserve is a 63-acre preserve home to various plants and animals. It is also a popular destination for hiking and bird watching. Nanticoke Lenape Nation The Nanticoke Lenape Nation is a state-recognized tribe headquartered in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The tribe has a rich history and culture dates back thousands of years. I am honored to be a citizen of the Nanticoke Lenape Nation and to have the opportunity to share my people's stories with others. I believe that it is vital to recognize the contributions of all people, including Native Americans, who have helped to build our communities. Thank you to the Hilton Garden Inn and the South Jersey Chamber of Commerce for hosting this important event. I am grateful for the opportunity to have...
