A good new addition to the Indian cuisine in SWFL.
As far as the service goes, really good job. Everyone was helpful, and friendly, despite being a new place and everyone still learning. When I asked questions they didn't hesitate to find the answer if they did not know.
The aesthetic was very nice, and calm. They did a great job on this with the room they had to work in the building. A+
When it comes to food I have some inputs. I personally love Indian food, where I personally believe Indian food is the best, or one of the best cuisines in the world. I've tried Indian food in different countries, and different states, and love to try different Biryani's. We got three dishes, and while everything tasted good, nothing exactly blew us away, or wow'd us. Chicken Tikka Masala - Kind of the staple dish everyone gets at least once. Was okay, kind of tasted more like a sweeter tomato soup, and didn't have much of the Indian spices in it to make it stand out. I was also kind of disappointed in the lack thereof, of chicken. Lamb Rogan Josh - While this was good, its by the far the most different dish I've had among Indian restaurants, I'm not sure if it was a different style than I was used to, but it was almost like a Smokey Salsa. It was still good, but its Flavor and texture was different than other Rogan Josh's, or what I make at home. Lamb Biryani - I mentioned earlier I love Biryani, lamb and chicken Biryani is probably the one meal I can live off of, and never get bored of. This was the best dish we had from our visit. Lamb was super tender, and had lots of flavor. My only criticism for this, is it felt very "wet". While Biryani typically has a nice oil layer/ghee layer on the rice, the wetness was more of a moisture, and I think it was from the gravy of the Lamb marinade, if it was just a little "Dryer", with more salt I think this dish would have soared. Don't get me wrong, its still a tasty dish. Lamb Keema Naan - Good ole stuffed naan with meat. Was fantastic, no complaints. Highly recommend if you haven't gotten Keema naan before, to get it.
There was one issue that came up to me. Instead of the Chicken Tikka Masala, we wanted to order Paneer Saag, but it wasn't on the menu. That was weird to me. if you choose order online through Indian Breeze, you can order Chicken/Aloo/Paneer Saag No problem. The menu instore and online only has Chicken Saag. I asked the waitress, and only Chicken Saag was on her tablet to place the order, so we couldn't do a Paneer Saag. With that, I think the menu needs reorganized. They have lots of curries, and meat options and it comes off overwhelming. Especially when there are multiple curries listed for different proteins. It would make more sense to have something simpler to view like Rogan Josh..... Chicken/Goat/Lamb/etc Saag.... Chicken/Aloo/Paneer/etc Traditional Curry....... Chicken/Goat/Lamb/Fish/etc etc, etc that would make it more easier to read in my honest opinion.
I wanted to give my opinions and thoughts. While I do focus more on the negatives more than the positives, i think its important to have the open honesty for improvement, or to think about approaches going forward.
Afterall, it is a brand new restaurant, and they're still learning themselves, and working out the minor details I'm sure.
I hope my review is helpful.
Lastly, don't let my "negatives" influence from going or not going. Definitely give it a try, Indian food is definitely an S+ Tier food, and recommend everyone should try it. Indian Breeze has good food, as well as helpful and nice staff. Ask your questions, try some curry &...
Read moreHappy to see another quality restaurant on cape Pkwy. Even happier to see not another Italian or cuban place.
I'm gonna write this review as a comparison to Masala Mantra a little up the road on Del Prado. I think these are the only 2 Indian restaurants in town.
I liked the place. I would definitely come back. The seating and atmosphere is nicer than masala mantra. It's nice to be able to eat on the deck on cape Pkwy. I'd say for dates this place would be better.
The food was good. Not my favorite Indian food, but it wasn't bad. I like masala mantras Tikka Masala more if I'm being honest. Theirs tasted a bit more like tomato soup than what I'm used to.
Naan is big, and chewy. They're a little light on their dipping sauces considering they're $4 but they were good. I ordered the breeze mix grill. I got a lot of chicken, 2 shrimps, and 2 very petite lamb chops for like $29. I ordered the coconut rice with it. It was good, but I was a little disappointed that I didn't get any money off ($10 is a little steep), but also never got the rice that comes with the dish either.
Mango chutney was very flavorful. Spices were fragrant. I asked for spicy and they treated me like an old white lady. Next time I feel like I have to emphasize that I want it spicy, but I want to be clear that I would definitely go back. It wasn't bad at all. I just give the full picture.
Service was ok. We sat outside and it took a long time for them to come out for refills, but again I feel like that's because we were the only ones sitting outside. Hard to believe a spot this nice used to be a subway.
Overall I give them a 4/5. I would prob order masala Mantra for take out, and come here if I'm dining in. Wish the owners lots of luck. Happy to see good ethnic restaurants in south Cape. Never saw so many Indians in cape coral. They have the support of their people and I think...
Read moreMy wife and I went to Cape Coral's newest restaurant the other night, Indian Breeze. A fantastic addition to the downtown food scene and, while it's not readily apparent, created by the chef/owners of our favorite Fort Myers restaurant, India's Grill.
Everything and everyone, from the hostess, our server Anto, the food runner and the owners could not have been more welcoming, thoughtful or gracious. In addition the interior design is beautiful, modern, sleek and is easily one of the best looking restaurants in the area.
We started with Lasuni Gobi, fried cauliflower florets served in a delicious and moderately spicy garlic sauce. The portion was large enough for two to three and was served piping hot and the flavor was outstanding.
For our entrees we ordered Tandoori Shrimp and Lamb Rogan Josh (both at their hottest spice level) plus Lamb Kheema naan (naan stuffed with ground lamb). If you haven't had it the lamb stuffing takes humble naan to a whole new flavor level!
All were absolutely delicious, served in a timely manner, not too fast or too slow, and the portion sizes were generous. The shrimp were beautifully charred but remained so tender and the lamb was cooked to perfection. The spice level was very hot but to make sure we were really satisfied the chef/owner, unexpectedly, sent out a bowl of his family recipe Phaal. That did the trick!
Obviously we totally enjoyed our experience and while we didn't try the vegetarian/vegan options there are plenty to choose from and we cannot wait for our next visit to Indian Breeze. Highly...
