Studio 6 Suites Carpinteria, CA–Santa Barbara-South — Hotel in Carpinteria

Bad experience for me personally. I specifically requested a street level room as I have difficulty climbing stairs, especially with a suitcase. When we arrived, they were unable to process a credit card transaction and requested cash. We didn’t have enough cash for two nights. I had made the reservation on Booking.com. We had to call booking and get it canceled, and I had to pay cash for the first night. When we got to the room, my travel companion discovered there was a puddle of water between our two beds. Not only that, the floor seemed dusty and had pet hair on it. They moved us to another room, and the sheets smelled sour. Not having enough cash to pay upfront for two nights, ruined our plans of having dinner the next night in Montecito. We spent the next morning looking around for another hotel in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara, and finally found something 71 miles away in Arroyo Grande. Arrived at motel to find that despite price being shown on the map as $118 the actual rate being charged was 238, apparently some sort of avocado festival was in town. Eventually agreed to stay but wish I hadn't. First issue was it took 10 mins to get hot water to come out of the sink tap which ran very slowly, one the plug was put in the sink took another 5 mins to fill with enough water to was with. The Internet service was completely unusable, when I got a signal it kept dropping off every 2 to 3 mins. Dogs barking at 4am kept me awake finally went to make coffee to find the machine had the part missing where the coffee bag goes so no coffee. Feel totally ripped off and will never use...

I booked 2 rooms for our family. We stayed for 1 night and didn’t spend much time in the room. We had an event in Santa Barbara & hotels in Santa Barbara are expensive. The location was quiet. The rooms have full fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The beds are comfortable. There was free parking. The room is for 4 people but the design of the bathroom is not efficient since only one person can really use the bathroom that is spacious. It would have been good design if the door separated the bathtub and toilet from the sink & mirror. Also, my husband walks around the room barefoot and his feet were dirty. The maids should...
