Absolutely outstanding Mexican restaurant in Carthage. Exceeded all expectations. Order: Chorizo Queso Dip Appetizer Burrito Habanero Burrito Puerto Quesa Birria To start things off we were overwhelmed by the menu. So many wonderful choices that sounded delicious. We asked our server Lalo for some guidance and he came through in a big way. Very patiently and enthusiasticly explained how many of the dishes were prepared. Helped us so much with our order. The Chorizo Queso started us off and was excellent. The flavor and texture the sausage added to the cheese was wonderful. Both of the burritos we ordered were unique and flavorful. The Quesa Birria was wonderful. In particular the consomé had such fresh onion and cilantro. The only weak spot for me were the refried beans. Good texture but a bit weak in flavor. I'd like if they had more spices and a taste that could stand on its own. My wife wasn't a fan of the table hot space, thinking it tasted a bit too much of tomato paste and oregano (or some other traditionally Italian spice). I know, mostly small nit picks but it shows how great the rest of the meal was. We'll totally come back if we make it back to Carthage. Thanks again Lalo! 🙂

Service was fine. Prices and portions were about standard. The table-side guacamole was a big hit. However, the entrees were not that great. I had the Steak Mexicanos and it was extremely fatty. I'm not too picky about fat on my steak, but because this came cut up and mixed in, it was hard to see. So every five or six bites, I was having to spit fat into my napkin. Maybe just bad quality control that day, but wouldn't really recommend.

Wow! Great place. I picked it for a business dinner. From the outside, it looked like a quiet, cozy place to discuss business. Boy, was I wrong. The place was booming. Wait, staff rushing happily from table to table taking care of their guests. The food was amazing, and the place had a great vibe. I didn't get a lot of business done, but I will be back with my family every time I'm in the area. Would definitely recommend it.

It was busy, but the food made it to the table quickly, service was great. And the food was made by the hands of someone who knows how to make your taste buds taste bros! I've ate at Habaneros before, but the one in Carthage tops them all in my opinion. Just seems to be better quality, and frickin' fresh! Damn sure recommend going, it's affordable. Cost as much as it would to eat fast food, maybe a tad more depending on what you order. Amazing Queso good hot sauces, in different heats and flavors. Their hot salsa is mild and flavorful. And they have golden sauce... Made with, you guessed it habaneros. Hot, yet tolerable for heat lovers. It's a sweet pepper, but they seasoned it right, so it's complimentary to the Burrito LA Puerta I had. Delicious! My fiancee had this shrimp and pepper Burrito, and it made me question my own choice. Divine when dipped in the quest by the way. Sorry for the novel, but yet...

Hands down the best Mexican Restaurant in Carthage. The staff is always friendly, the drinks rarely ever get below half before they're filled and the food is top notch. The ambiance is great, the restaurant is cozy, and it's always busy - usually the sign of a great eatery.

My favorite dish is the regular Molcajete Bowl but everything there is amazing. They make the tortilla chips fresh everyday and the salsa and queso cheese dip is amazeballs. Mix them together and you have the best of both worlds. I don't think you can go wrong with anything there.

If you like a good Margarita, try theirs. They fresh squeeze orange juice into the drink and I could never figure out why they tasted so good until I watched the bartender make one. Never thought I'd love OJ in my Marg, but OMG, I'll never opt for sour lemon lime again. Try it, I promise, it'll change your life. If it doesn't ping me back here I'll buy...
