Have gotten some beautiful plants here the past couple of years but last year, I purchased a quantity of "Beefsteak tomato" plants for canning at the end of season. Fixed income and attempting to stock a pantry and provide for family. ALL plants ended up being CHERRY Tomatoes though marked "Beefsteak" (jumbo tomatoes). Useless for canning and produced poorly. The growing season was lost, including expenses and labor. Contacted them last year and told "not their fault, it was their growers". No offer to compensate or help in the future. Contact this year at the beginning of planting season resulted in admitting fault but more excuses and no offer to replace misrepresented plants or discount new plants. APPEARS to be a small family-owned store but has lost the small-town customer service philosophy. Update: 10/24 Quietly went back to give them one more try for 2024. Bought what was promised to be Beefsteak tomatoes again. At the end of season fair number of tomatoes but NONE larger than gold balls, NOT beefsteak....
