I used to love Vit Goel. I would frequent the one in Annandale (never had an issue with Annandale, but the Centreville location is TERRIBLE). I am editing this review because instead of the Centreville owner responding about the experience, they needed to clarify the location instead of the MAGGOT that I found in my food. That goes to show how little they care about the health and safety of their food and customers. I hesitated on giving a bad review on my last in person experience. We arrived an hour before closing, but you could tell they were rushing us. The short ribs tasted awful, were greasy, and not their classic flavor they’re known for. Thirty minutes in, you could sense they wanted us out of there, even though a few other people were still eating. Today I ordered the kimchi and beef stew because I was too sick to make it myself at home. This set me over the edge. I found a maggot in the soup. I got my money back, but that is no excuse. This is disgusting and unacceptable. I had to throw away my whole meal. Not to mention I will need to monitor my health on top of a cold. I don’t know if management or staff has changed, but this place has severely gone downhill. As a Korean that has grown up in this area, this is embarrassing.

This place has by far the best Korean food in the dmV area. Service: Came in here on a busy Friday with a few of my friends and the servers got us seated in a timely manner. The server took our order and food came out quick. Also checked up on us regularly through out the entire time and asked us if everything was okay. The atmosphere of the restaurant has a cozy vibe to it and makes me feel comfortable. Food: okay, now it’s time to get to the best part of our experience here. The food here is so amazing!!!! I got the beef and pork spicy tofu soup and it came out piping hot, looking nice and spicy. The soup had so much flavor and I’ve never been to a Korean restaurant with better tofu soup, PERIOD! Additionally, we got the fried dumplings and it came out perfectly crispy and was even better with the sauce they give you with it. The Galbi was also exceptional. So much flavor and the portion/price is nice compared to other places that charge an insane amount. The banchan was also very good, with my favorite being the kimchi. This is by far my favorite Korean restaurant around my area and I’ll be taking my family and friends here often!!

I came back to this place recently after so many years. Tofu soup isn't my top pick of food. I'm so pleasantly surprised this time because they serve hot bibimbap now, and it was one of the best I've had in DMV. The ajummas work fast and efficiently. The decor looks like there was some effort initially, but a little bit worn out over time. It's still reasonably clean! The tofu soup is the best in the area, too, according to the folks who ordered it in my group. I tried it and it's alright, but again it's not my thing. The bibimbap and kimchi alone I'd come back for. The kimchi here is so good. You could tell it's made by someone who knows what she's doing. It's not too hard or too sour like the ones you can buy from Lotte. It's spiced just right. The pickled veggies given here are also the best you can get. I know I'm hyping up the side dishes, but they are really that good. They definitely elevate the overall experience one notch up when I was already happy with the bibimbap and its crispy rice crust on the bottom!

This place is god awful. How are they still in business? I reluctantly went today with some friends. I say reluctant because the quality of food and customer service in the past has been very poor. Sure enough, they did not disappoint. From start to finish they were terrible.

We requested high chairs because we had two small children. Even though there were 3 ladies not doing anything, they just sat around. I got up and got them myself.

We ordered our soups, some dumplings, and a seafood pancake. When we requested the dumplings and seafood pancake, they didn't respond. They didn't say "ok" or "sure thing". They just said nothing. Sure enough they forgot the seafood pancake.

Soups are whatever. I don't know how the same chain restaurant (there's a sister store in Annandale) could be so different in taste. The one in Annandale is bounds better than this place.

Oh the rice that comes in the stone pot? Cool right? Don't be fooled. They scoop rice they already made in there to make it seem like they cooked the rice in the stone pot. Lazy lazy lazy.

Hindsight, thank God we didn't get the seafood pancake. It doesn't come out hot anyway. Its normally supposed to come out sizzling and steaming. Kinda like how fajitas come out at a mexican restaurant.

Not once during the entire meal did they come to us to ask if we needed anything. We had to flag someone down anytime we needed something. Read the reviews about this too. They chase people down if they don't leave a minimum of 15% tip? Do your job, then maybe people will leave tip.

I read some of the past reviews, and it looks like most of their clientele have shifted from being mainly Korean. Lots of non-Koreans leave reviews saying that this restaurant is great or its so good. Non-Koreans I am speaking to you. We Koreans do not claim this place as a great restaurant. Its so bad. Please stop spending your $16 to eat some disgusting soup.

6 days prior to this review, someone found a maggot in their soup. That is disgusting. The store had the audacity to blame it on their sister store.

I guarantee it, once the non-Korean crowd realizes that this place sucks, they'll go out of business.

TLDR; they have maggots in their food. This place sucks. Don't go here please for the...

If I could give this restaurant 0 star I definitely would!! It was most terrifying, gross experience ever in my life at a restaurant! I went to this restaurant with my mom yesterday. We ordered hot pot bibimbop and tofu soup. Everything was fine until I chew something out of my bowl. It was a big nasty sharp, a hard metal in my mouth! I vomited out from my throat(thank god I didn't swallow that thing down! Also thinking what could've happened if any kids ate that thing!) and almost immediately I called waitress to show her what I found in my bowl. When she came, she took my bowl showed it to her staff and came back with apologies but when I asked to call owner she said the owner is not in the state. I told her that I would call 911 if I don't get to talk to owner. Then she called someone and I waited there almost 30min to meet this guy. He took us to this coffee shop and kept on saying "sorry" he admitted that it is crazy and unacceptable to find that kind of objects in foods. I told him that this is a serious problem especially for anyone who is in restaurant business feeding other people and it could've killed someone! I also added I am going to report this to health dept. He took my number and I left that place. When I came back home I couldn't eat anything that day because it grossed me out all day! Well, here is the worst part. This morning another person called me and I said who am I talking to and he didn't say who he was he just said he is just related person to the business. He absolutely had NO manner who sounded very nasty, annoyed and he almost scolded me about how I was making a big deal out of finding a huge piece of metal in my bowl. He told me to do whatever I want to do to make...

There is no doubt that the food from here is great but the experience I had today has me questioning the management. We were celebrating a birthday and I placed a carry out order of almost $500.00. They even called me a few minutes after I placed the order to verify the authenticity of the order and I was very appreciative of the call. Everything was fine until my daughter, who speaks limited Korean and looks like an 18 year old, went to pick up the order. The person who brought the food out told my daughter that a 15% tip was customary on a order of this size. She said that they usually put the percentage of tip on the check on an order of this size but they didn't on this one. She pretty much demanded that the tip should be added to the amount on the check. Now I don't know about anyone else but that's pretty steep when this is not a dine-in meal where the wait staff are waiting on you. Our family has ordered many times from here for pickup and delivery and never had a problem before but this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Shouldn't they be appreciative of a pickup order of this amount instead of utilizing an Uber service where they have to share the ticket total? I don't know if she acted alone or if that is the policy of the restaurant but I am...
