I should’ve checked how busy the place is on Thursdays around 8 before I came here with a party of 3. Upon entering, they said we had to wait 20 mins so we go back to the car and I start watching YouTube after setting a timer for 20. Timer rings and still no text received. We wait for 26 mins until we decide to go in and ask. Thats when they allow us to go in. This is our second time visiting and it seems like Covid Protocols have been lifted. Great place to hang out with friends and family as I see a lot of them here. The K-pop music matches the environment very well but I cant really say the same for K-rap. We ordered briskets and the quality of meet looks very questionable at first glance, but after cooking it they taste fine. I guess not all meat is kept in the same condition though as one of the brisket orders gave me a stomachache. The Iron Age Soy steak though, let me warn you, DO NOT try it with the sauce that contains salt as it is nasty. If you try it with any sauce you wont taste it as the Soy sauce overrides the taste. At first we felt rushed as the manager kept trying to get our orders fast. But it was understandable as there were many people waiting outside. Once they cleared out the manager never visited us again. I was disappointed how the spicy pork bulgogi would stick onto the cooking tray which caused it to be a bit over cooked. Bathrooms were clean but the second toilet stall for the mens looked like someone tried to break in there. The lock is loose and it looks like someone tried to kick the door open like they were expecting loads of cash. Otherwise the area is mostly clean and busy. Also, Iron Age, I think adding soup to the menu would attract a lot more people. I get that the place is a grill but some Korean soup goes well with meat . Area Hygiene: 9/10 Food quality: 4/10 Food Taste: 8/10 Environment Friendliness: 8/10 Staff: 7/10 Overall rating: 3.6

This would have been a 4 star review but due to the service we had received, I am rating Iron Age a 2 star restaurant. I am a repeat customer but because of the services tonight, I am not sure that I will be back. Our primary server acted as if we were lucky to be there and he was pretty short with us, to the point we were afraid to ask him questions. At one point we asked another server if we could sample everything on the menu at once and he told us he couldn't bring more food unless we finished what was already at the table. I have never been to a "all you can eat" place that requires you to finish everything before they can bring more items from the menu. If you are combating waste then go ahead explain to customers your policy prior to us sitting down or charge the left over and let people take the leftover home. Honestly if Iron Age was trying to increase revenue maybe the smart thing was to bring everything out at once. Our server ended up bringing the sea food side dish out 3 times because each time there were only exactly 3 shrimps and 2 squids. It was a waste of his time and ours. He could have just bring everything out at once and go help other tables. We could have finish eating quicker and let other customers take our table. Iron Age takes patronage for granted and assume there is no need to earn your business. Overall, I didn't expect a "high end" looking K restaurant such as Iron Age to provide poor service. The services completely killed the K pop music and posh decor ambiance. Iron Age might as well save it's interior decoration money, lower prices and be a hole in the wall establishment.

I've been coming here for about one to two years now and I will say I absolutely enjoy this place. An AYCE meat place is amazing, this place isn't for anyone that has a stomach as big as their pinky. They have many options for Menu A or Menu B. I usually just go with the cheapest menu because I don't like eating the seafood grilled. I always get brisket and spicy pork belly. I recommend eating your meat with the small salad bowl they offer so you don't fill up on rice too quickly and your definitely can get your monies worth. The steam egg is a great addition along with the spicy rice cakes and you can't forget the flavored soju. I've only had the mango one but it taste great and it helps with the food going down. Overall the food, I would give it a five. The staff, I don't know how I feel about them. It depends on the day and who you get, some of them are friendly and smile while they help you out at your table. And there are some that looks like they just dislike what they do. I give them a three. It's in a fairly large shopping center so there is a lot of available parking. Inside it's loud in the evening time so be prepared to shout. If you're voice doesn't project you might want to make sure you sit close to the edge of table so the server can hear you. They play kpop music videos, sometimes a kpop star would do an English cover. The environment is clubby but it's fun. It's a great place to go if you're starving and can eat an entire cow. I would rate it a five. Overall, I would recommend this place to everyone.

While I normally love Iron Age and go every single time I'm in DC( dragging all my friends and recovering it to anyone headed that way), I don't think I recommend going anytime soon. The service has really gone down. While we where seated quick and got out food quick we where rushed the entire time. From past experiences(all past experiences) we first ordered our drinks and given time to order our food before all the sides where laid out ( this time we where seated and it was at our table and there was only 2 sides an a little lettuce) which wasn't so bad except we weren't ready to order but the server hovered and asked again within 2 minutes. Next once we did get our food it was dumped strait onto the grill( every other time I've been they lay out the food and let us place it as we please) again that could be let go. While our first batch of meat was done cooking our server came again( at this point my friend had put on her watch timer and we had been there for 4 minutes and he had visited 3 or 4 times) and asked if we needed more meat which obviously we did not. After I put down the steak and it was nearly done our server came and put the next batch of meat on TOP of our almost without asking or cutting it up. By this point we both annoyed and that was when I noticed my water glass had lip stick on the rim (I wore no lipstick that day) and asked for another which came eventually. While trying to eat the waiter kept coming back and asking if want more meat even when we where not even half done. making us feel that we had a time limit and the 2 times we did request more meat he dumped it on and we had to take it off and cut it up. He came again while we weren't even halfway down with the new meat and asked if we want more me at that point we said no and he said OK I will be back with the checks. he gave options didn't listen and walked away and got our check. He was back on less than a minute and kinda dismissed up with a "thats it done? Ok good night" note we where still eating. After he left we sped up our eating and put down the card*(he came and got it quickly). When he came back for the final time and repeated the same dismissal we quit eating left a not on the back of our bill and left. Our total time there was 14 minutes 22 seconds( before we entered i had checked the time to make sure Shelia's would still be open when we where done as I have always spent about an hour there) and the server was there no less that 9 times. We now have stomach aches from eating so fast and indigestion(thanks server dude) soo we liked the food but probably won't be back after this and ill be posting this to all of my social media...

...... updated

I went a few months ago and wanted to update this because the service was as better and I hope they keep it up

I went and we had a great server. He made the food and enough for a table of 5 and kept it coming... Was great service and was a nice polite attentive server not like some past experiences...great service will keep us coming back here instead of the many other places great atmosphere and then great service and food makes this a must go too. So don't start slacking iron age!!!.. Happy this is a better change from the past where it was snobby weirdly impolite and not enough food... happy it an awesome place again.

NOT ALL YOU CAN EAT !!! YOU STARVE WAITING FOR FOOD THEY ARE CHEAP WITH FOOD. ONLY A LITTLE BIT AT A TIME. BEWARE IF IN A LARGER GROUP

At home just made bulgogi and can't help but remember this restaurant I used to go to all the time. Just upsetting. Been about 9 months but still love and hate this place.

SO LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE AND PLACE BUT ALWAYS DRAMA WITH GETTING FOOD. TWO PEOPLE MAY BE BARELY HAPPY. BUT 3 OR MORE FORGET IT. . IN RECENT YEARS STAFF WAS HAD ATTITUDE WHEN ASKING FOR FOOD. ONCE HAD 7 PEOPLE AT A TABLE ONLY ONE BURNER GOING AND NEVER ENOUGH FOOD. THIS PLACE COULD BE GREAT BUT ITS NOT. ITS A NEGATIVE VIBE FROM STAFF AND NOT ENOUGH FOOD FOR THE TABLE OF PEOPLE.

SO ONE BURNER AND MEAT ON IT FEEDS 2 PEOPLE BUT THEY WILL WANT AMD NEED MORE. . BUT HAVING ONLY ONE ONE BURNER AND RATIONING THE MEAT AND GOING AWAY AND COMING BACK FOR 3 OR 4 OR MORE PEOPLE IS RIDICULOUS. THE MEAT LIES FLAT ON THE PLATE SIZE BURNER. THEN CUT UP AND DISTRIBUTED. ONE LITTLE BIT OF MEAT FOR EACH PERSON BUT THE STAFF THEN LEAVES.... THIS JUST IS UNREALISTIC TO THINK THAT IT FILLS UP PEOPLE. GET DISTRACTED AND THEN THERES THE WAIT...THE LING WAIT AND TEO LITTLE THIN SLICES OF MEAT IN THE GRILL AGAIN FOR THE WHOLE TABLE.

SIGH SOME OTHER BBQ PLACES ARE NOT THIS BAD. THEY PUT LOTS OF MEAT AND KEEP IT COMING.

AS MUCH AS I LIKE THIS PLACE ATMOSPHERE AND YARD BEER THINGS THE FOOD SITUATION KEEPS THIS FROM BEING A REGULAR SPOT WE GO TO. JUST CANT BRING FAMILY ALL THE TIME AND BE UPSWT THERES NO FOOD.

Realized How easy it is to make bulgogi at home. Just having all that meat available all at once at home is so satisfying compared to the situation of the single grill for however many people at a table and the rationing of the meat like it's gold just makes me despise this place even though it has...

This was my first time at this restaurant and I won’t be going back. For context, I went at about 10pm with my boyfriend and our 3 friends. Let’s start from the beginning: our waiter was in a rush and didn’t bother to ask for our drink orders when we sat down. I had to ask him for drinks for the whole table because he wouldn’t ask every time he came back. Luckily I had a plastic fork in my purse because my boyfriend doesn’t know how to use chopsticks well and asked multiple employees for a fork multiple times and never received one. Next, there were meats we requested and never got. I asked for more rice, they took my empty rice bowl and never came back with a new one. My boyfriend and his friends had been there before, so they were cooking the meat by themselves. But every time the waiter came back to the table he would grab the tongs from one of our friends to flip the meat which was completely unnecessary. To add, whenever they brought new meats to the table, the staff would pour the excess blood/juice from the meat on top of the meat cooking on the grill. When it was time for the check, the waiter brought it to the table and hovered next to the table waiting for us to pay. Seriously, he stood less than 5 feet from the table for at least 10 minutes popping over periodically to ask if we were ready to pay yet. This was the most we saw our waiter the whole night. To top it off, another random employee we hadn’t seen all night, came to our table, grabbed the check book and asked us if we were ready yet. (Ready to leave).

Not only did my boyfriend and his friends say that the quality of the meat seem subpar to their last experience, but the customer service was considerably worse as well. If I knew the food and service was going to be this bad, I would’ve driven the extra distance to another location or chosen somewhere else all together. I don’t plan on going back to any Iron Age anytime soon following...
