This review is for a stay from 8/5-8/6/22. Called ahead when we were about 1.5 hrs away and asked for vacancies, and they offered $60 a night(absolute steal!). Once we got there, check in was quick, easy. No ice available after 10pm but that was fine with us. We got a single bed for two adults, non-smoking. There's no pool, but a soda machine by the office. The room was very adequate! Free decent wifi, Fully carpeted, No smoke smell, clean (I check for bed bugs). The room had three chairs, one desk, one microwave (unplugged) and one plugged in mini fridge with freezer(which actually froze our ice packs over night). One wrapped ice bucket, wrapped cups, TV with remote, 3.5 serviceable outlets(though one is always fully occupied and the rest have at least one item connected, which may be an issue for those travelling with a lot of tech), Heater, working air con, Small closet with two bars across opposite sides with no coat hangers and one luggage rack. Bathroom had two sets (bath towel and hand towel), floor towel and all usual toiletries in packets (2 liquid shampoo, 2 lotions, 2 bar soaps: hand washing/bath). The bathtub faucet was leaking the whole time and the toilet was a bit low, and would flush a bit wonky but was working. The shower pressure was low to medium, just play with the nozzle for a bit and you'll get some decent pressure with clearly hot or cold water. The bed was two twins pressed up to each other making a California king size bed, which was comfy enough. The sheets were soft and quite clean (some superficial stains/damage on the top comforter but nothing that takes away from it). The fridge door fights the carpet when you open it but works if you tilt it a touch. Given the low cost and easy available parking and access from main street, this place is an absolute win and this would be the first place I would check if I was coming through again. The gentleman checking me in was quiet, pragmatic and quick, check out was easy enough just left the key where the instructions on the door said to. 5/5 would absolutely stay here again for value and the fact that it's independently owned. (It was 42% cheaper than anywhere else I...
Read moreThe rooms are small, not perfectly clean that is for sure but minor problems..I clean white glove so I am a bit hard to please; Lots of hot water and water pressure was good; the beds were the most comfortable of our three night trip; pillows not bad either. Towels and others needs were nice, better than some motels of $259 a night; nice and white; commode, no lid but it flushed good, no problem there. TV, microwave and refrigerator were there too. Quiet; we were in room 17.Curtains did a good job of shutting out the lights from cars coming in and out; The only drawback and it may not be present in each room was the heater..it is an old heater in the wall but on a thermostat; we could not get it to start and it was cold, cold in and out; owner came over right away and got it started...ooh that felt so good ; during the night it quit and my being a coward, just huddled deeper into the wonderful bed and bedding. Eventually, I did get up as it was time to consider getting up and ready to leave; got it started it again and all ended up pretty darn well. The front desk was very courteous...they are either Pakistani or of another Eastern Indian ethnicity. The motel has been improved; a lot of the workmanship is quite good; carpets could use a cleaning. A Bible was there which I truly liked...I look first thing for it when I enter a room...not so at the Pawnee Inn in...
Read moreIt may be clean enough to sleep here but maybe wrap yourself in saran wrap and have a root shotgun by your side. It would not take much to make it better. Paint touch up. Clean carpets with stain remover. Remove old pink tiles in bathroom. People who understand English at the front desk, straighten mirror and pictures, get help for the hallucinating junkies and dont let them lurk outside of rooms for hours, Get locks on doors that will keep out light winds, dont stack the larger microwave on top of the minifridge without support, put in working smoke detector, replace 10 year old air conditioner, replace freaky looking partly melted plastic 6ft tall heater thing, get internet that does not crash multiple times a day and upgrade the speed so more than 2 people can browse basic web sites. Spring for the 30 dollar comcast package and it will be 4 times faster. Housekeeping was nice though and let me borrow the vacume. Housekeeping did not check my room on day 1. The intense musky smoking smell is mostly gone after 2 cans of oder removal spray. It is supposed to be a no smoking room. Took care of 10 flys in room the first night. The one bent up metal hanger in the closet looked sad. Water has an odd blueish tint. Probaly not drinkable. The old blood spatter up to the ceiling in the bathroom was a great atmospheric add on. How to you get blood on...
