This rating has nothing against the venue building. It is an excellent facility. My low rating is due to this: I saw Styx last night and really enjoyed the first half of the show. There were no problems with the crowd other than people coming up or close to the stage to enjoy the show. Nothing radical and not blocking the view of those on the first row cause most were standing (and if you sit on the first row of a Styx concert, you should go home...) The 2nd half of the show, the older, bald, gray-bearded security guard was a complete buzzkill to the fun atmosphere of the show. They were running off everyone from the stage; young kids, adults, all the above, even physically turning a young gentlemen around by the shoulders when he came up to grab a picture and stand by the stage.... Obviously these older guys have forgotten what a true concert experience was in days of their youth and having no ill intentions of approaching the stage rather than having a good time and enjoying the music. If the band was uncomfortable or threatened, I could understand but this was not the case... (Not one item was thrown on stage), and people paid good money to see the show. I'll be reluctant to return for...

But we couldn't see a lot of it from our seats because parts of the performances, as well as the large screen that was behind the performers on the stage, were blocked by the curtains, the speakers and lights, and the stage itself because of how low we were. Which was a bit aggravating because I purchased the highest priced tickets, in the front row. It would be helpful if there was some disclosure as to the lack of visibility from certain seats in the theater, before those tickets are secured, or if there were a lower cost for those seats, considering we could only actually see about half of the show. On another note, some of the staff members were very helpful and a delight to interact with! There were others that were less-than-pleasant...
Read moreI have not been to the Cheyenne Civic center for a show in probably 10 years. I went this evening to Tom Segura. We bought "supposedly" VIP tickets (literally the center 8 seats in the front row). I asked for a refund on one seat and left after I spent 1 hour in line and missed the first full hour of the show for a beer. I work in the service industry and serve people every day of evwry week for the last 24 years. Save yourself the trouble and enjoy the show in any city...
