THERE IS NO PRIVACY. The bathroom door doesn't exist. The toilet closet door doesn't lock. I felt very exposed and too uncomfortable to take a shower because there was no door between the shower and the room. I couldn't take the most basic safety precautions to avoid putting myself at risk. ... ... My friend brought an extra air mattress and booked a massive $405/night suite for us to stay in during a recent business trip. When we arrived I discovered that there was no bathroom door. So... there was no way for me to shower or take a bath without my friend potentially seeing me naked. I was shocked. ... The room description did not warn me about the appalling lack of privacy. If you are traveling here with someone you aren't physically intimate with, BE AWARE: ... THE SUITE MY FRIEND BOOKED FOR US TO SHARE ON THIS BUSINESS TRIP HAD NO BATHROOM DOOR (surprise!), SO I DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO TAKE A SHOWER. ... There was no way for me to close and lock a door, take my clothes off, and guarantee I could shower without my platonic travel buddy being able to see me exposed. Anyone with room access could accidentally or intentionally wander in and get an eyeful while I was changing. ... I was so uncomfortable. I immediately went to the reception desk to ask for another room so I could have privacy, but everything else was booked. The staff did not offer any alternate solutions and acted like the surprising lack of a door was no big deal. So this space rental cost over $800 for just two nights, and I was stuck with no private way to shower or wash up during this...

The Factory Hotel at the Duchess Inn is the coolest place in the tri-state area. Jessica at the front desk was very nice. My ādisco roomā was amazing - love that I walked into a disco ball lit room with disco music playing on the smart tv! Everything is well labeled, so I was able to easily turn everything on and off. The little outdoor space is such a nice escape.
Iāve stayed at the Dutchess Inn before and loved it. The Factory is a very special (and chill-er) addition delivering on the same quality and attention to detail. Iām so glad they purchased this former sewing factory and turned it into a unique boutique hotel. The decor in the lobby at The Factory Hotel honors the history of to the building, right down to the sewing scrap rugs.
Love this place and I canāt wait to come back! Dog friendly and located right in the center of Beaconās amazing Main Street.
PS: if you are around Thursday July 18, 2024, then stop by their opening...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really enjoyed my stay at the Factory because this hotel is very comfortable and offers a really nice experience. This hotel has a unique theme in each room and always anticipated the things that would make my stay a great experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel is located in the center of Beacon on Main street so you have a variety of restaurants and bars within walking distance. I appreciate the attention to detail in this hotel because it made my stay in Beacon even more enjoyable, fun, and unique.
Here are some extra things to know if you are lucky enough to stay at this hotel: As it was formerly a sewing factory that made bomber jackets, the hotel nicely incorporates these items throughout thus giving it a museum feel I like the artsy touches throughout the hotel and there is a nice patio with fire pits outside for nighttime gatherings. Check out the view of the river and the mountains from the Dutchess Inn & Spa next door; and there is seating and fire pits on the roof too. The hotel is only a 5 min car drive or about a 10 minute walk to the train...
