I'm beyond upset right now and still sitting in my room in disbelief. I've never had such an invasion of privacy in my life. We checked into our room and went out to walk the main drag and then get to our dinner reservation. In the meantime, my husband listened to a voicemail from the motel saying that they accidentally assigned the wrong room and they need to fix it. We called back as soon as we saw the VM and then someone tells us, no worries we fixed it, we moved your stuff to another room. The people waited in the lobby, so basically, yeah you and your stuff don't matter as much as the person standing right in front of me.
My husband was like, wait what, you moved our stuff? By that time, I already jumped out of my chair in the restaurant and was moving down the road. I'm still so upset, I don't even want dinner anymore!
Yes they personally moved OUR stuff, went into OUR assigned room, touched ALL our things, clothes, my personal travel pillow, toothbrushes, our meds, food, suitcase,... All of it!!!
That's such a big no no, I don't even know what to say! I almost cried at the front desk when he tried to apologize, but there is nothing to apologize, you simply don't do it!!! Never ever touch someone else's stuff or go into their room without talking to them first. It doesn't matter if we didn't pick up the phone right away, it's a no!!!! You apologize to the person in the lobby and do you darn best to reach the people in the room. You didn't even call again, the only VM we got was to say that a room snafu needs to be fixed, but not oops those people are already in the lobby. You call and call and call again!
We've traveled hundreds of nights all over the country and world and I've never had someone invade my privacy that way! It literally ruined the last night of our vacation! We wanted to have dinner and drinks and enjoy a final night out before heading home.
I will never ever stay here again and can't recommend it to anyone else that enjoys...
Read moreAbsolutely the rudest owner I have ever met.
My son who is autistic has a real service dog. Yes, an actual full fledged service dog from Canine Companions for Independence. A world-renowned business who provides service dogs for people with disabilities.
The owner saw me take the dog on a quick walk after we checked into the room. My husband had stayed behind to watch the kids. When I came back from the walk this lady came stomping over to our room and banged on the door. I opened the door and the owner began yelling at me and said we needed to leave. She said we can't have pets and I said the dog isn't a pet it's a service dog. She then demanded the paperwork. I said you can't ask for it, it's against the ADA. She continued screaming and yelling at us, barged into our room, and used our phone to call the police.
Meanwhile, the owner claims the dog barked and people complained. I said it was impossible because we had just been on a walk and the dog doesn't bark unless told to. The woman continued to berate us in front of our children and demanding proof of certification.
I pulled up the law and tried showing her what she can and can't ask for. This woman refused to read the law. Mind you, this whole time my autistic son is crying in the room, shaking and holding onto his dog.
A police officer showed up and the officer was extremely kind. The officer tried calming the owner down, but the owner didn't care. Granted this incident is a civil issue and law enforcement couldn't do anything about it. So, after driving all day, we had to leave and go to another hotel.
I filed a complaint with the ADA and requested education be provided to the establishment. My husband wanted to sue the hotel, but after some thought, we decided the best way for this owner to be taught a lesson was to receive an education in ADA law.
This incident occurred in...
Read moreExcellent location in "Wild West" Cody, Wyoming for this super-clean, very well appointed lodge, the Moose Creek Lodge and Suites was the perfect place to stay on our anniversary trip! The friendly owners and staff are very knowledgeable and helpful about the Cody area. We stayed in one of the deluxe king suites which has plenty of room, with a livingroom/dining area, separate bedroom, and bath with tub/shower combo. The "1/2 kitchen" area included full-size fridge, microwave, dishware and utensils, as well as good counter space and storage for limited in-room food prep and cooking. Coffee and a nice gift shop with locally-made items is in the hotel lobby. A note: the property consists of different sizes and styles of rooms, some of which are on the second level. Keep in mind, there is no elevator. This is a non-smoking, no-pets allowed hotel. An indoor pool and on-site laundry is available for guests. ||The lodge is just a block or two from the wonderful Buffalo Bill Center of the West museum complex, and within walking distance of shops and restaurants along Sheridan Avenue. A stop for a meal or just a visit at Buffalo Bill's Irma Hotel is a must for Old West history buffs, just a few blocks east of Moose Creek Lodge. If there is time for a day-trip or two, consider spectacular scenic drives (Chief Joseph Scenic Byway & Beartooth Highway), picnicking (Buffalo Bill Reservoir), dinosaur discoveries and hot springs, and Legend Rock Petroglyph site day-trips (Thermopolis), and a chance to see the free roaming wild horses of the historic Pryor Mountains Wild Horse Range near Lovell, Wyoming (visitor center and tours are available in Lovell). Each of the above day-trip locations are within approx. 2 hours one-way from Cody, and each is well worth the effort! ||My husband and I highly recommend the Moose Creek Lodge and...
