I will never return to this store. Extremely rude manager that treated my daughter like a criminal. Our family is in Cody on vacation & my daughter and I stopped into the Trading Post to spend some one on one time together shopping. When on the lower level of the store, my daughter stood on one of the skateboards to see if it would fit the size of her feet as she likes to skateboard. She was NOT riding it around the store. She was approached by the Manager who looked her up and down and said "No riding skateboards in the store." My daughter immediately apologized and politely put the skateboard back on the rack. The manager then looked at her, pointing her arms around and said, "Oh, and by the way, we have cameras watching everything you do." After paying for my almost $400 worth of items, which I should have left on the floor after her being treated like that, I found the manager and spoke to her directly. She apologized and said it was "PrObAbLy BeCaUsE oF LiAbiLiTy." I'm sorry, but pointing to the cameras and speaking to a customer that way does not speak highly of you and the business you represent, regardless of the reason. I too am a business owner which is why I am so appalled by how she was treated. We will take our $$$ and our business elsewhere moving forward. ☆☆☆On a positive note, our cashier, Sandra was extremely friendly and talkative. Maybe she should be...
Read moreI have never given a negative review, but I would give this place a negative star if possible. Understandably their parking lot was full because the Fourth of July parade was in town. l asked the lady at the cashier if I could park in one of the parking places that had cones in front of them and she said no they were reserved for employees who were coming in She came up with no options for us to park even when I said we wanted to shop and spend our money there (as opposed to using their parking lot to view the parade). She basically said it is what it is. We drove away and came back and found a parking place and the two parking places with cones in front of them are still available for their employees to park in. I've been waiting in the car for about 45 minutes now for my husband to go in and get something. We could've parked in one of those parking places and been out of here by now. I own a small business and would never treat a potential...
Read moreThis is a really cute shop and I stopped here while I was in Cody when the weather turned cold. They have a great selection of mainly clothing plus some cool pet items. The reason why I'm giving it only three stars is because I bought some warm weather stuff for myself and my dog and headed out on my way west to find that the coat I had selected was not included in my bag and one of the sweaters had a huge hole in it along the neck seam. Both of those things were very disappointing and I didn't think to check through every item. I tried the sweater on in store and it didn't have a hole so it must have gotten torn when the sales girl was struggling to ring up the items. I'm not sure what she did with the coat. I was too far away to go back and didn't want to hassle with returns. Perhaps the store needs to arrange a larger surface for ringing up items. The sales girl really didn't have much room back there for anyone buying more...
