Since Wyndham bought out the LaQuinta hotel chain we have had constant billing issues with our company debit/credit cards. I have about 100 stays per year with our business and the constant overcharges and billing issues unauthorized my card are running into an enormous amount of money that I am constantly chasing my tail with. I have never, until today, had an issue with this particular location but low and behold today I went down to pay the extended reservation on my stay. It’s Sunday and the girl ran my card four times, ($172.05) ($172.05) ($162.76) ($162.76) for what should have only been one single charge of $172.05. The first two charges were actual funds removed from my account and they continued running my card for our stay until there were no longer enough funds to pay the hotel stay. In the meantime, these funds were pulled from my account for the transactions the hotel says they weren’t able to charge. This has happened repeatedly with numerous Wyndham stays with our business since Wyndham has taken this chain over in the past year - resulting in me chasing hundreds, and ultimately thousands of dollars of my own money throughput the year. They claim it’s a “Wyndham computer glitch” but it’s very expensive and has put my business travel in peril on numerous occasions. In Hillsboro I was told by employees that “Wyndham operates on their customers money”. In Midland I had an all out war with management to fix their mistake and return my funds. In San Angelo I am still two months later waiting on funds to return to my account for a stay I never got because they gave our room away that had been reserved for my disabled mother. And there are countless more. You can’t stay with LaQuinta, and pay cash and I would suggest you never give them a card if you don’t want to be mercilessly robbed of your funds. I am very sad. This has been our go-to hotel chain for decades and we have literally spent tens of thousands of dollars traveling hundreds of thousands of miles with this chain over the past twenty years. BEWARE OF ALL HOTELS IN THE WYNDHAM UMBRELLA
The answer is always the same, a very nice person saying “well gee whiz. We got all your money and we just can’t figure out how to get it back to you” - and then it’s always 60days if fighting with them and my bank to get it back.
If you’ve had overcharges with any of the Wyndham hotels, file a free and simple complaint by going to the Texas Attorney Generals website. Google “Texas Attorney General Consumer Complaint Form Online”. It takes less than 5 minutes and it’s free.
Also, Victor, the guy supposedly sorting this out (but not really because Wyndhams history is they hold the money for two months) informed me he came in on his day off to try to sort this out. This is a work trip and this was going to be my only day off too. I was in the lobby in my nightgown all morning over this. He informed me he wasn’t getting paid to be there. Working off the clock is illegal in Texas. If Wyndham is making their employees do that then they need to also be reported to the Texas...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel several years ago while our daughter was attending A&M University. It needed remodeling but at least everything worked. When I stayed 6/15/24, our room should have been immediately available upon arrival. Instead, we found a long line of guest trying to check in and the front desk not being able to assign rooms until housekeeping had finished rooms one by one. At one point, we were told that they could not check anyone in because the bedding was still in the laundry!!! The majority, if not all, of the guests staying at this property were there for the highly publicized sold-out George Strait concert at Kyle Field. Management should not have been surprised in the least that the hotel would have been completely sold out and had several months’ notice to stock up on supplies (linens) and staff (housekeeping) so that the rooms would be ready on time. Finding another hotel room would have been impossible due to every hotel in the area being fully booked. Guest, including myself, were highly irritated that we were stuck in the lobby of a hotel OVER AN HOUR instead of going to a concert that we bought expensive tickets for. Once we finally got to check in, we immediately noted the sink leaked and so put a towel under it. We knew it was impossible to change rooms or even get maintenance to our room from witnessing the madness in the lobby. However, it was not until the next morning when we went to shower that we found the shower didn't work at all. The lever to switch from tub to shower was completely corroded and unable to be changed. We did not partake in the included breakfast due to the poor conditions of the property and not wanting to risk eating food prepared in horrible conditions. This hotel does not even deserve to use the name LaQuinta. There was also a smell like the carpeted floor has not been shampooed in decades and the water also had an off smell. We were in Room 155. The issues with the room itself were reported to the front desk at checkout. I emailed the general manager and have not heard back for over two weeks. Wyndham refuses to do anything but pass along the comments to the...
Read moreI was at a training event in College Station with 2 coworkers. We were in three different rooms that all had issues. My room had a wall of moisture that hit you in the face along with the musty smell. It was hard to breathe while sleeping because of the moisture in the air. I purchased items that remove moisture out of the room to try and help remove the moisture or some of it. The moisture in the room caused mold and mildew in the room. You can tell they tried to paint over the mildew and mold instead of fixing the cause of the issue. The room looked clean at first glance but with a closer look not so much. Along with all the mold and mildew there was dirt behind the bed table and in all the corners of the bathroom. The outside of the of the hotel was dirty. The pool had trash around it and the pool turned green while we were staying there. The pool started out pretty and blue and I'm not sure what happened. As the week went on there were bags of trash in several places outside the rooms. One of my co-workers had several bags and boxes of trash outside his room the whole week we were there. The hotel did have great water pressure but the bathtub was clogged and didn't drain and had to be fixed the second day I was there. I will have to say that the only thing that I did not see in the room was bugs. I was very thankful that there were no bugs. The hotel has a sign up that they do not clean the rooms daily because of covid. The sign stated that if you requested to have your room cleaned it must be by 9 pm the day before, I asked the front desk 3 days in a role to have someone remove some wet towels. The towels were still in the room when I checked out 4 days later. I checked the addition lock that was on the door when I first arrived because I was staying in the room by myself. I locked the lock and tried to open the door and the lock almost came off the door. I looked closely at the lock and it was cracked in half. The staff at the front desk were nice and helpful. The one star that was selected was for the...
