The air conditioner compressor located in the bedroom of room 424 was so loud and vibrated I was unable to sleep with the compressor on. I called the front desk after booking the room online 3 days before arriving and specifically requested a quiet room. The front desk staff pre-assigned me to room 424. I have never stayed at this location so I trusted the front desk person knew the property and was putting me in a quiet room. Unfortunately this was not the case because the air conditioner in the bedroom was so loud and vibration I could not have on to sleep, and was awakened at 6:45 AM by construction outside my bedroom window in the adjacent property.
My room was not ready at check in time so I returned late evening. Before going to bed I turned down the temperature to turn on the air conditioner only to find out that the compressor located in the bedroom in a locked closet has a loud vibration that vibrated the floor and had such a loud audible noise I had to turn it off in order to sleep. When I checked out the front desk staff person knew of the loud air conditioner said that they have received complaints about that room 424 and the room across the hall. I was very disappointed that ALL front desk staff didn't have that information. And more disappointed that the hotel management would not fix the problem or block the room for guests requesting a quiet room.
I was awakened at 6:45 A.M with beeping sounds from construction equipment adjacent to the property directly outside of the bedroom window. The front desk staff should know about this construction adjacent to their hotel property. The large pile of dirt with construction equipment is directly adjacent to the bedroom window of room 424 so the front desk staff assigned me to the worst possible room for a quiet night stay.
Because of the loud air conditioner and the construction noise I had a miserable stay. I told the front desk staff when I checked out as well as the General Manager who walked up while I was talking to the front desk staff.
There were other bathroom maintenance items that should have been fixed prior to someone staying in that room: bathroom sink drain stuck almost closed preventing water from draining; bathtub drain not draining well so I had to stand in standing water during shower; and mildew on...
I stopped into this place by accident, only looking for some zzz's and to be on my way in the morning. I have used this community before, and the college all but guarantees a decent quality room at an affordable rate. I had not used this property before, but my first impressions of the place were how clean and maintained the place was. ||The desk agent who checked us in, I believe was mark, was most professional and courteous in the process. When we got our keys and got to our room it was in equally clean, and well maintained order. The only things I found that did not work were the work light over the kitchenette, and the dishwasher door apparently locked, as nothing was going to release it, and it didn't have a slider on the front to open it. I couldn't use the percolator assuming that the urn was in there, and I couldn't get it open.||It was an overnight stay, and I had no intention of cooking anything beyond warming up a cup of coffee in the microwave. When it was time for breakfast they had a pretty standard fare of scrambled eggs, meat, toast, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, fruit, and cereals. All of it was well prepared with an inviting service area and very clean tables and dining room.||I've one suggestion that would make the property more appealing than it is today. The HVAC unit evaporator motor literally roared, loud enough it interfered with hearing the TV. Additionally, while in the breakfast area there was another blower vibrating so loudly it was vibrating parts of the building, and again creating excessive amounts of noise. This is Texas, and these units run year-around, and I'm sure the motors in there, while turning, are very aged. ||I left the next morning by 10 with a good feeling about the place, and I'd not hesitated to use them again, or recommend them. The rate was good, the property exemplary, and the stay a positive experience. And, there's lots of collateral businesses in the area close by for any kind of shopping desire a guest may have. ||And, the college is not more than ¼ mile away...
Read moreI stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott Bryan College Station for a night of September 18th, 2025. Below are my views on good (+) and not-good (-) about this hotel. In the end, my final evaluation (the number of stars) is heavily based on the quality of my interactions with staff as a guest and a loyal member. ||Good things:|+ The hotel is kind of inside Texas A&M campus with restaurants, etc, surrounding the hotel|+ The hotel is clean and I very much like it. |+ The hotel has a little pool and gym.|+ Natalie checked me out, and I could tell that they were friendly and hospitable. ||Not-good things: |- Emma checked me in with NO smile! Either Emma spoke too fast for me or I was tired after a long drive, I could not hear them well, and Emma showed an unpleasant on their face. Emma gave me the keys and a bag of two bottles of water (with some pieces of chocolate in it), and that was all the conversation from Emma. They didn’t even bother to say something like “Thank you for your loyalty as an ambassador member”, a statement that all hotel receptionists have said to me, except Emma of course. Emma didn’t bother tell me about the hotel either until I asked for where the gym was. Emma didn’t talk about breakfast either.|- I came back later asking for two pillows. Emma gave me two pillows without covers and two covers separately. I think Emma said that they wanted me to see there was no stain inside before giving me (not entirely sure I heard correctly). I said thank you and walked away, and Emma talked behind “I was kind of waiting for you to put the covers on” (I think that was what they said). What? Is that supposed to be Emma’s job to put the covers on instead of me? I was very frustrated with Emma. I was not sure why Emma would treat me like that. I am an Asian, and not sure if it was the reason: if that was, then it was really bad.|- The gym is very small with only...
