The worst experience ever. Been staying at hotel for over 3 weeks with check out every Friday returning back every Sunday. Go check into hotel Sunday evening to be told that it shows check in was set up for Saturday and not Sunday. The guy was very nice said he would put notes in the account so don’t get charged for Saturday and manager will fix it in the morning. I go to the room to see someone is already in the room. They overbooked the room. They fixed it right away and got me in a different room. Go speak to front desk after work to confirm if charges were changed and why my room key isn’t working. The front desk got very rude stating that I had already checked out. I explained no please see the notes in the computer. She refused to look at notes. I asked if I could get my key fixed so I can get in the room that booked for rest of the week. I was told that someone was already in the room. So again they overbooked the room AND my personal belongings were still in the room. They refused to allow me to go in the room to get my things and was told to leave the premises. I left and called the police. Several hours later the police showed up and they told the police that they were holding my personal belongings because I checked out without pay. How can I leave without paying when my personal belongings were still in the room and my credit card is on file? They told the police that they were going to hold my personal belongings that they were not going to give them back. The police explained that they couldn’t do that and then they agreed to allow for us to go in room get personal belongings. We asked for a receipt and they show that the room was booked through hotel.com. We never used this website always booked rooms with Choice privileges rewards. The front desk Friday made the mistake with everything from check in and what website they booked room. Will not be returning to this hotel ever. Will blast them on every platform that a review can be left on.
In response to the owner feedback….I witnessed everything over the phone. I am not sure how a paying customer had trespassed on the property. The police did not issue a ticket for trespassing. This all started from the front desk error last Friday when they decided to use a 3 party website hotel.com to book another week and put the wrong date on check in. The room was overbooked. There was incorrect check in and check out date. Please explain how this is a customer fault when you all had credit card on file to charge for the room. How did the personal belongings get in the room already? Why did you withhold his room key and hold personal belongings? Again this company needs to take accountability for their actions on making a customer upset and not reading the notes that were left in...
Read moreThe room was good and it seemed clean. I stayed for five days for business.
The WiFi was worthless. I had major issue with internet not loading at all. It was a consistent disappointment the entire week. The tests I ran on multiple devices at multiple times with minimal guests were closer to 1 Mbs, but I did have a minute or two closer to 10 Mbs. I ran speed tests on two tablets, one cell phone and two laptops (Windows 7/10) - all consistent with the same disappointing speeds.
I could tell housekeeping was slowly giving up as the week progressed. The last day towels were just placed on the bathroom counter with no additional soaps/shampoo items and the bed wasn't even attempted to be made. Overall, it was a clean room, however.
I was in a room in the top corner by the lobby building. The stairwell door was loud and you could hear people come and go, but the only reason it was a possible noise issue was due to the fact that the elevator is extremely far leaving the stairs as a optimal for entry/exit.
There was plenty of parking, but as the hotel booked up, it became quite a trek (especially given I was in a room nearest the fewest amount of parking options).
There was an incident with the entire building losing power in the middle of the night for not more than a few hours (between something like 2-4 a.m.). I noticed it and immediately took a shower in case warm water would have been limited had the power not come back.
I spoke with a desk clerk about the power loss, not as a complaint, but just conversing and curious. He made up a lie and proceeded to tell me a massive portion of the entire state was without power. I still had cell service at the time and did a quick search and it was localized to the block. Furthermore I could clearly see out my window several building/lights had power less than a quarter mile away. It was an unnecessary lie and cost one star on the rating.
It wasn't a bad place, I would stay again assuming the price was reasonable. Telling me a fictional story to cover for an issue that would have never been an issue cost a star and the fact that housekeeping basically gave up on the last day was...
Read moreWould love to say I actually got to stay here for a proper full review, but unfortunately I never got the chance and won't be trying again.
I stopped here around 10:30 PM on Friday after booking through Hotels.com. I last second decided to bring my 5 lb dog and saw the hotel was pet friendly.
Upon arrival, as my sister and I walked up to the front desk after a gentlemen in front of us left the counter outside, she abruptly held up her hand and said "excuse me, I'm still assisting a customer". We nodded and backed up and started talking while we waited. The gentlemen walked back in grabbed a card key and walked off. After a moment of us talking, we looked at the empty front desk, expecting the lady to tell us she was ready at this point after the previous encounter. She looked at us and said "Oh I was waiting until you were done". Her tone and overall energy was just offputting right away.
After this, as I checked in she asked if I had a pet and I said yes I brought a dog. She looked at her screen typed for a second and then said "I'm sorry you didn't tell us you had a pet, we have no pet friendly rooms and you can't stay here".
She gave me her manager's number at that point, saying I'm sorry my manager will not allow me to book guests in non-pet rooms.
We left at that point - tired and over Quality Inn & Suites Garden of the Gods.
I get that: Hotels have to have rooms that are non-pet potentially for guests who are allergic, among many other reasons. Since I booked through Hotels.com I have to handle refunds there. I brought my pet last minute (though their site said they were pet-friendly).
They don't get 1 starred for having a non-pet policy in some of their rooms, and they don't get 1 starred for refusing to let us stay. They get 1 starred from me because of how they treated us, as if we were just a nuisance from the second we walked in to the second...
