It's our wedding reception day but the front desk "AJ" humiliated our entire family by telling us "the entire Hyatt Place building is closed" and didn't allow us to buy bottles of water!!!! I've been a Hyatt member since 2017 and used to love Hyatt properties. Saturday, September 13, 2025, it was our wedding day and we just finished photo shooting from The Garden of the Gods. Our family members felt thirsty and we would like to stop somewhere to buy some water. I just remember I used to stay in this Hyatt Place for 4 days so I decided to stop by there and buy some bottles of water. My aunt and my other girlfriend went into the hotel lobby first and I was right behind them. Once I walked in, my aunt told me the front desk said "the building was closed" so we couldn't go in. I looked at the two front desk agents still working there just fine; all the cars still parked outside. How was the hotel closed??? I looked around at the gift shop just to look for the bottles of water for our families and I saw the gift shop was completely full so I walked back to the front desk and asked the 2 front desk whether we could buy some bottles of water. The lady on the left with the gray hair said "yes absolutely!" but the front desk agent AJ right next to her replied in coldness, "No Ma'am, unfortunately the entire building is closed". So we couldn't even buy water from a hotel when the gift shop was fully ready to sell to the public or at least to sell to the Hyatt member like myself??? We didn't ask for any other amenities like using the restrooms or anything. Why did we get refused to come in or buy water in a Hyatt hotel that opens to the public and I've been a loyal Hyatt member since 2017?? We decided to take legal actions on this discrimination caused by the front desk "AJ"...
Read moreI left a tip for housekeeping each day. On the last day, having even increased my tip from the 2 days prior, the room was hardly cleaned at all. The only things done were the bed was made and towel's replaced. Dirty glasses and trash were still there from the night before, floor not vacuumed, counters not at all wiped down. One of the glasses we hadn't touched still had a previous lipstick stain on it, so I phoned the front desk for clean glasses.
The bathroom is as tiny as any I've ever experienced at a hotel. You feel like you will literally step INTO the toilet getting out of the shower! The toilet paper is so thin you have to use a TON of it to keep from having your fingers poke through when wiping. No - really! There is no magnification mirror, ladies.
There were no forks one day when we went down for the complimentary breakfast. The next day, there were forks but they were put in the bin with the tines UP, so everyone that was grabbing a fork was touching the tines of all the other forks. The buffet is not layed out well, people bumping into one another to get to food, etc. It was such a nightmare we ended up just eating at Village Inn next door.
Staff is friendly but young and unprofessional.
The fancy video center on the TV did not work, so it was impossible to plug our cameras/camcorder into the TV at night to see our photos/video.
Elevator is painfully slow, especially considering this is only a 4-floor hotel!
Rooms have no dressers.
Find another hotel. This one is over priced and...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would. Do not waste your money here. My friend and I booked a room for one night while visiting Garden of the Gods, we arrived and there had been no notice of the construction going on and nothing was well marked of where to even check in. We finally found check in around the back, and the staff was less than helpful, they had downgraded our room and weren’t going to adjust the rate to reflect it, we were breathing in construction dust because things were not properly tarped off and everything smelled like chemicals to the point you would be light headed. We couldn’t even check in due to their systems not working properly, when we were deciding what to do, Shania, the front desk attendant told us that we should in fact cancel and leave but of course without refunding us and with the nastiest attitude. My friend called Hyatt customer service/reservations as we should be completely refunded as they couldn’t even check us in, and the agent spoke with Robert, the other desk agent and verbally confirmed on a recorded line that we can cancel without penalty and be refunded. It’s been almost two weeks and we are still fighting for our money back $130 wasted to some of the worst hospitality that I’ve experienced, I've worked in hospitality a good part of my life and I couldn’t imagine treating guests like we were treated. I highly recommend the Days Inn by Wyndham, they were absolutely wonderful to us, it was so clean, had free breakfast, and a...
