We work construction in Colorado springs and we live in denver so we drive down and stay usual all week. When we first good here to check in we were greeted by a older man who I think is the owner. Our boss paid for the room the night before and told us that all we need to do to check in was tell them the company name and we get the room. The man who was checking us in became extremely rude when I tried checking in. Saying things like "The person who made the reservation has to be the one I give the key to." I then asked them to call the number which the reservation was under and a few seconds later my phone rang." He still did not believe me so I had our boss call him to sort things out. 10 to 15 min later the man comes by and gives us the key. So we go up to our room. The room looks fine so I jump in the shower. I turn on the shower and hear a very loud screech sound from the faucet so i make the shower quick. We tried the internet and had trouble getting anything loading. I couldn't even get my email to pull up. The temperature outside dropped below 0 last night and so we turn the heat on. The hear did not shoot out hot air, not even warm air. It was cold air. (Yes we made sure it was on hot not cold) We called downstairs for someone to come check out the heater and they said they could not send anyone up until the next day so I asked for a few extra blankets and they said it would cost an extra 15 dollars. So we decided to freeze last night. I tied again with the internet around 2:30am and still had problems. We woke up and went to their continental breakfast in the lobby. I understand that you get wheat you pay for but this food was terrible. The bread looked like it had been there for a couple days and the muffins and rolls were stale. The milk was room temperature and the cereal was stale. The only reason I told my boss pick this over the hotel next door was the waffels. So I made me a waffel. When it was ready I could not find the syrup so I asked the front desk and they said they do not bring it out till seven. We had to be at work till seven so I just ate it was some butter and jam. After work we came back and I went upstairs to find our door open. I checked in side expecting to find a cleaning lady but when we walked in she was not there. We had all our stuff in our bags in the rooms including our laptops and other things of value. There are no locks on the outside doors so anyone could just walk in and take our stuff. I checked the heater and it was still blowing out cold air so I went downstairs to see if someone had worked on it. I was met by the same rude man who checked us in the night before so I politely asked if anyone could have someone help us with the heater. When we started back to the elevator he started to yell at me about some dirt on my shoes in the lobby. I check the bottom of my shoes and there is nothing on my shoes and I show him and he was replayed that it had all came off when I walked in and that he wouldn't let us stay here again. Anyways, we went up to our room and he checked the he waved his hand over the heater and was like its hot I checked and it was cold still. I asked my friend what he thought and he thought it was cold also. So said he could move us to a room. We did and I checked the heater and it pushing out hot air. He came back after a hour or so and was like "is this hot enough for you and left. I asked my boss room now on to have us stay at the days inn next door, which is on average 2 dollars less. Honestly if this review would let me I would rate this place very poor. Dont stay here. Not worth...
Read moreIf I can give this hotel a negative rating, it would be a negative in the thousands. I can’t really complain about the cleanliness because for the most part, it was kept pretty clean. However, the staff members are incredibly and absurdly, rude and presumptuous. There was only one staff member there that was actually Helpful and polite but to mention that staff members name will probably get them in trouble as they are not following the pack. I stayed at this hotel for about a month and during my time there I was restricted on the guests that I could bring in (told that I could not have guests based on the staff members’ prejudice and a presumption that one of my guest was homeless, which wasn’t the case. I was charged for linen and towels that was soiled by my dog which I paid for yet my hundred dollar deposit was still retained by the hotel. I was told by a staff member that I could not (yes this staff member told me I COULD NOT) go to a neighboring hotel, because it would make the management at this particular, super eight unhappy with the fact that I was visiting others in another hotel. Most upsetting and just plain ridiculous is that I was ejected from the hotel, given an hour to leave the premises, simply because I had a guest waiting for me outside of the hotel, so that we could then go visit with a friend in the neighboring hotel, and this happened two days prior to my check out date which the unused days were not refunded to me nor my deposit credited back to me. I maintained a respectful demeanor, all the while, being put out in the snow, with my dog and my belongings, at 1am in the morning after returning from downtown Colorado Springs and threatened to be reported to the authorities If I wasn’t gone in one hour from the room I had for a month. I’m troubled by the business ethics of the manager Ryan, who later saw me visiting a friend’s apartment at an apartment complex he lives in, and not knowing why I was there decided to inquire. He hadn’t realize that I was there, checking up on the apartment, and my friends boyfriend who was taking care of the apartment as well so, he decided to lie to the apartment manager by saying I had been randomly knocking on doors at this apartment complex because he had a problem with me for some reason telling him that it wasn’t any concern of his why I was there after he asked what it was I was doing at my friend’s place. I am disgusted by the owner of the hotel, who seems to allow his managerial staff to treat his guests anyway that they please and it’s usually with contempt, and disrespect. Most of them are dispassionate to the needs of the paying customer. More so, the owner of the hotel who’s there every day, seems to encourage his managerial staff to get rid of the customers before their check out dates so that they can retain the monies given to them without returning deposits, or unused days, and then renting the room out to another unsuspecting person. I cannot stress enough to anyone reading this that this is not a good place to stay. I’m not the only one that feels this way because during my month there I saw countless other people having difficulty with Ryan and other staff members for the same reasons I listed above. Please, for your own safety and financial stability, do not stay at this hotel. You may find that you feel like kicking yourself...
Read moreIt was too expensive, especially for how awful the room and breakfast was. We asked for a non smoking room and got a room that was beside multiple rooms labeled smoking and a couple of rooms ours and another room that didn't have any writing on the door specifying non smoking or smoking room. Immediately, upon entering the room it smelled dusty, smoky, and like old dirty people. We were worried that our clothes would smell like the carpet and room, so we put our luggage in the bathroom and only opened it when absolutely necessary. We also waited till morning to take a shower just so we could wash the stench off us before we left to a better hotel. The only reason why we stayed there was because it was a last minute check in too late to find a good hotel on such short notice. Also, the lamps and furniture were so old and damaged with tears, scratches etc and even the walls and curtains looked dirty. The bed covers and curtains were from the 1980's maybe early 90's with the typical country blue and mauve floral pattern of that era. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the carpet smelled so bad and ugly with some kind of hunter green pattern. Also, we had neighbors who smoked pot throughout the night and heard tapping and knocking noises at all random times throughout the night and morning till checkout. They only had one soap in the bathroom and one shampoo sample with no conditioner and even didnt have but one small coffee bag for the coffee machine. Breakfast was even worse with horrible food and scraps of leftovers nobody wanted. I have been to several super 8 hotels and know they typically are not as nice as 4 star hotels, but this one was the worst and cost more than any other super 8 thus far. Paid $98.00 for a stinky, old, and ugly room. Probably would have been better sleeping in our car, but we had already paid for the room. We normally get a discount using our AAA card, but the old lady at check in said she already gave us a discount and wouldn't give us the AAA discount. However, she charged us over $10.00 in taxes and was nosey and rude on top of all that. Do yourself a favor, spend a few dollars more at a better hotel and stay away from this particular super 8...
