November 2021 the parking lot was being resurfaced, so parking to some of the stores was blocked off. Although I understand the need to do sections at a time & obviously not let people park where the work is ongoing, they really should have put up some sort of temporary accessible parking spaces.
Since handicapped parking was limited to a spot or two in front of stores that were not blocked off, the additional walk to get to the blocked off stores was increased even further for disabled people. For instance, the closest handicapped space was about 1/3 of the parking lot down & of course already taken. The closest parking spots were already being used by non-disabled people since there were no designated handicapped parking spots. I had to walk about half the length of the parking lot, and since the store blocked use of shopping carts outside the store, it was 2 trips to get my purchases to my vehicle.
I struggled with deciding whether it's fair to rate the strip mall due to a temporary situation, but ultimately I hope that it prompts some discussion on the mall's handicapped accessibility in general. It's obvious that the bare minimum is done even without the resurfacing, so I feel it's a fair rating for the future. I choose not to return due to the lack of accessibility...
Read moreWhile there are a lot of good shops here, they're also a lot of issues. The main issue is the traffic trying to get in and out. Only one entrance / exit has a traffic signal so the other one will get extremely backed up. Even the one with the signal gets extremely backed up. The lanes are also very narrow so car is parking will back traffic up as well. As far as the stores go there are a couple good restaurants and a couple good stores but there are also a lot of empty spaces. Currently there's a pet store, shoe store, Dollar store, five and below, a pool and vacuum store, once upon a child, Tuesday morning, Ross, Marshalls and a few others. It's also the area where there's a Starbucks. Just watch out for traffic, that seems to be the biggest...

This entire shopping hub in Columbia has everything you need (plus a lot of things that you THINK you need---until it's time to pay your next credit card bill! =) Everyone, please be patient and show kindness to others. Day to day life is leaving many of us angry, exhausted and stressed out. Please help ease someone else's stress. Smile, or allow him or her to go first. It's actually an obligation. (1John 4:20, 21: "If anyone says, 'I love God,' and yet is hating his brother, he is a liar. For the one who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And we have this commandment from him, that whoever loves God must also love...
