Well this was my 1st time here on Saturday around 3:45 pm. I tried build my own veggie bowl. I could pick 2 greens where I tried Romaine and Supergreen, they gave 4 small Fresh falafels. Falafels had nice garlicky taste to it but the oil in which they fried was either used alot or some peculiar oil was used that gets this weird taste or they might be frying in same oil as meat. Either way I did not like that oily weird taste. I never had such problem at CAVA restaurant. They gave 1 scoop of black lentils which after 30%-40% of eating the bowl I noticed strings coming out of lentil that will retract which usually means they were stale. So either they might have left lentils out for too long or kept dumping new one in old bin. Not sure but I noticed and was only wishing that I won't get sore throat, fever infection. Harissa hummus was good (Cava is definitely better), pepper feta was okay. Roasted potatoes, zucchini, cucumber & tomato salad, feta cheese, brown rice with quinoa, kalamata olives, chickpeas and purple cabbage is what I tried as toppings. This was served with 1 dressing which I chose Spicy Avocado. Overall Taste: very Blend as mostly I was eating greens and rice with barely any dressing. That drizzle isn't enough to cover the blend vegetables. Chickpeas were undercooked. Black lentils seemed stale and right after I left restaurant after throwing away 50-60% of the bowl, I started to have irritation in my throat while driving, kept clearing my throat and after sometime mucous came upto my throat which I had to hold up until I reached home and spit it out. CAVA has much better hummus and dressings and Even vegetables are well marinated and never ever I felt it blend or stale! Never had weird oily taste of falafels at Cava either. I personally will never go to Kairos and do not recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was looking forward to ordering a rice bowl, but the employee needed to refill the lentils first. This bin was 2 bins behind the rice. When she lifted it up, the dirty water the bin was sitting in got all in the rice so we had to pivot to just a pita. You can choose 3 sauces, but you better choose them all right then and there. My pita was dry with the 2 I chose so I thought I'd ask if I could get a side of more tzatziki sauce since I didn't get 3, but he really said it was $1.09 for this tiny cup. I laughed and so no and went back to my dry falafel pita. I chose only to go w/cold toppings cuz I figured there wasn't dirty hot water under any of those bins. 3 different variations of cucumber, but they all looked old and gross, so I went with the cucumber salad that looked a little bit healthier than the other cucumbers, but that was a mistake. Extremely sour and mushy. The fries were okay, and thank goodness they had ketchup I didn't have to pay extra for. The different healthy flavored drinks looked enticing, but the dispensers looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a while. I love CAVA so I wanted to give this place a shot. Pita, feta fries and a drink was almost $20, but at least they have fries. Also, if it's cold out, it's cold in the dining area, but at the areas to sit and eat were clean. Above the door are the words, " always do more than expected" and " being nice gets you halfway." Those words don't apply to a side of sauceš It is now 7 pm and they are starting to clean the drink machinesš¤·āāļø so I'll add a ā. The service was not bad, but you made my pita sir, you knew I didn't have much on it. The falafel was mushy and needed that sauce. I do recommend the...
