Americas Best Value Inn Ft. Jackson — Hotel in Columbia

DO NOT BOOK FROM THE PICTURES!!!! THIS HOTEL IS A WRECK!!!! located off a side road where there are NO LIGHTS in the parking lot. When i pulled up at 10pm the front door was locked and had a side window, once they confirmed I had a reservation they allowed me in, which had a musty smell. Reserved a first floor room with 2 beds cause i was travling with family and one person who had a bad back and leg and told them this several times and stressed it, upon arrival at 10pm, they had told me they gave my room away because I was late, I bit my tongue. Upon checking into my "room" which looked a total wreck, that had the smell of chain smoking (non-smoking room) and also had a strong smell of weed. I was in the room for about 10min, turned the A/C on first and then looked around the room. I found the paint on the door was pealing off, paint of the wall was chipping, and the bathroom looked like it wasn't cleaned in months, black spots, hair in the tub, shower curtain with mold, and the A/C was blowing hot air. That was it!!! I went down to the "drive-up window" had to wait to make sure I was staying in the hotel, then was allowed to enter. Told the person that I was checking out for these reasons, told me that being I had already checked-in and was more then 10min, that he was going to charge me the night. I told him that he could look at the room and see that nothing was messed up, but told me it to was late for him to do anything. I called Best Value the next day and told them about the problems and asked them for a FULL refund, they told me that there was nothing they could do and that I should have just stayed the night being I was being charged. PLEASE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!!!!! PAY THE LITTLE BIT OF EXTRA MONEY AND STAY A LITTLE FURTHER AWAY FROM...

I should've taken pictures of this dump. Words can't describe how disgusting this place is. So, first of all, my boyfriend & I had was driving a while & decided to stop somewhere to rest. Normally, we would go somewhere where there are good reviews. Well, before I could read the reviews for this place, he had already paid the lady at the window $70; figured we'd give it a try despite the bad reviews. Let me include that the lady did not make him sign any paperwork or check his ID. So, we make it to the room & upon entrance it seemed okay, however when we checked the beds, the sheets & pillows had already been used. There were foreign substances all over the walls & stains everywhere on the carpet. The desk & nightstands were broken & chipping of paint. There was also a very strong odor. It was so disgusting that we didn't want to put our stuff down. We finally decided to leave, & went to the window to inquire about a refund, but the lady at the window refused to give him the money back. So, we then asked if we could get some clean sheets & pillow cases & she said that they didn't have any. We were basically robbed of our money. We left & went to another place that was clean, comfortable & courteous. Please do yourself a favor & STAY AWAY from this place because this is a dump & they'll ROB YOU. Apparently they needed the money more than we did. This is wrong & they should...

I stayed here at this property in January to come and see my fiance, but this hotel was very nasty. I looked under the bed and saw beer bottles and other junk that should have been cleaned up. The bathroom was not well cleaned at all. The hotel was very run down and has not been completely kept up. I have no plans of ever staying here again. I would rather stay at a LaQuinta Inn, a property by choice hotels rather than stay here. The housekeepers could do much of a better job at cleaning the rooms and the owner could do much of a better job at keeping up the hotel. The hotel was not in a nice neighborhood at all and on top of that there were also pot holes in the driveway. I would not stay here and I am telling you that you should not stay here...
