The entry of this hotel is beautiful. The front desk attendants were kind and efficient. There was plenty of seating in the lobby. We spent some time at the business office printing a few things from emails (making copies was not much of an option). My daughter and I enjoyed a nice walk to Publix.
This site does not have a pool, but I did witness several guests enjoying themselves outside using the grills. The ease of checking in and out was appreciated.
We had room 413. The king-size bed faced the window, providing a nice glimpse of the sun going down and rising. It came equipped with a full-size refrigerator, flat-top range, pots and dishes, microwave, and dishwasher.
*It also came with a nearly $200.00 price tag (no complaints about the price), but with four of the most uncomfortable pillows I have ever experienced in all my hotel-brand travels. The pillows deflated as soon as we laid our heads down. After a long day of walking and enjoying downtown, we turned in for bed only to discover that our sheets were not clean—be it nail polish, dried blood, I’m not sure. (A quick call to the front desk, and the laundry attendant brought me clean sheets.)
No, I didn’t feel like unwinding from my day just to pull everything off a king-size bed and make it up, but my daughter and I humbly submitted to that reality and did so. We were now in our self-made bed, fighting an ongoing battle with the pillows and a noisy room vent. Eventually, we just turned the vent off for the sake of trying to get a little hope of rest... Nope!
We had a shared room connection with the guest next door (we were not together). Their television was very loud, and the constant dinging of their device notifications led my daughter and me to turn our television back on to try and drown out the noise.
After some time, everything stopped. I was consciously relieved, as I was not sleeping. I got out of bed because the discomfort of the bed was murdering my body and back. The pillows were taking another round on my neck. I gave up and sat in the chair, placing my feet on the footrest in an attempt to get a few hours of sleep before my event—the whole reason I came to the region.
Needless to say, I woke up to start the remainder of my day feeling like a folding chair. The guest next door started blasting music at 8:00 a.m., which bled through the walls yet again.
We missed breakfast, so no reviews there.
No, I will never be staying in this hotel again. It was my...
Read moreOne of the ways to get me irate with a hotel is when you play games with my room reservation, especially when I have already checked-in through the Hilton application and requested as well as received my digital key for my room! I traveled from Atlanta, GA basically to Florence, SC then back into Columbia, SC to stay the night at this hotel. This trip was the fifth time I have stayed at this property and it was another fiasco. I arrived around 1330 on 01 AUG 25 with my dog and went to the front desk which I told them we were early and was my room 713 ready. I was told that room was not available but Ashley would put me in a room on the second floor. I was livid! Basically, I said no and I made this reservation two weeks ago and you gave away my room even though I was already checked-in. Ashley tried to explain the guest requested and were granted another nights stay in that room. My question was that you couldn't contact me or get another room on the same floor ready for me? Then she said I had to keep my voice down which really sent me over the top. I looked at this woman and told her I want a room on the seventh floor as I had chosen and I want to know when it is ready. She told me I had to wait two more hours for another room. To which my response was what I am going to do for two hours in this heat with my dog? I called the Hilton Customer Service line and the person wasn't any help at all! Manager time. I had to call this hotel three time in order to speak with the manager-on-duty Eric. I explained I was very upset and I wanted a room as I reserved and on the floor I chose. He did get me into another room but the damage is done. Never again! Another really irritating issue with this property is the parking. You have to pay but they let guests park anywhere such as along the curbs and the island by the front entrance. Those of us who drive full-size pickup trucks this hotel's parking lot is a nightmare. Stay away from this property and go somewhere else. It's not worth the hassle or the games...
