Better off going to Publix for sushi!
I am a longtime lover of Miyoâs and itâs additional locations. I recently had an unfortunate experience with the management at M vista. I ordered the Godzilla roll and confirmed, upon receiving my food, if the roll had shrimp. I believe the sushi chef made a mistake in NOT including shrimp in the roll. The waiter relayed my concern to the manager. The manager was ADAMANT in telling me the shrimp was there but finely minced. I opened the roll and looked extremely hard to see any remnant of shrimp. Not to mention we ALL can identify the taste and texture of shrimp, regardless of how it is prepared. Very condescending- he wouldnât even look at the roll. Not to mention there are pics posted by others showing the actual shrimp tail in the roll.
Ultimately, my issue is with the manager on duty. I feel like this was handled poorly. The service here has declined greatly.
Also, I ordered a Coca Cola and the waiter brought over a ginger ale looking drink. I asked him if it was Coke he said yeah. I asked him to bring a coke once the beverage station had been changed for the day. He did, BUT SERIOUSLY DOES NO ONE THERE HAVE ANY VISUAL JUDGEMENT ABILITIES OF FOOD OR THEIR MENU!!!
Response* You thought you ate with that response??? Gurrrrrrl please. You are ridiculous. As I mentioned, Iâve been a LONGTIME patron. This is NOT the emperorâs new clothes. There was no shrimp in there. Just fess up. If there are any changes you make it should be to the description of your menu items I.e. Godzilla roll - no shrimp. The one commenter/ reviewer described you perfectly C U Next Tuesday. The fact that I had to suggest a ginger ale colored drink IS NOT Coca Cola really says it all in regards to...
Read moreWe go to both M Vista and Miyo's Forest Drive on a regular basis, so when our daughter got married, Miyo's catering was naturally one of our top-of-the-list, first choices. We met with the owner, who helped with suggestions on selections that would meet our needs, which in addition to meat dishes and sushi, had to include a broad selection for our vegetarian family members, and for other family members with gluten or peanut allergies. Our reception was held downtown at the beautiful Big Apple event space, where our guests told us over and over how great the food was, how it was some of the best food they could remember having at a wedding reception, and what a wonderful change it was from so many of the usual "industrial" menus one gets at catered affairs. The catering staff did a great job setting up and making sure everything was in place and immaculate. They were efficient, courteous, attentive, and unobtrusive throughout, working in the background to keep the food going, and looking great besides. The equipment they brought all looked brand new, and the overall presentation was great. Everything flowed very smoothly. As the hosts, we never had one single worry throughout the evening. Would we use them again ? Oh yes, in...
Read moreThis used to be my go-to place for sashimi and sushi in Columbia. I hadn't been there in a while and decided to go for a late dinner. Wow! The place has changed. The service was horrid. We sat at the bar nobody else was sitting there but there was a girl trying to get a to go order. We sat for about 20 minutes with nobody saying a word to us and running around trying to get her order right. Finally a waitress came by and gave us menus. Then a guy who had been standing I the back of the bar came over and said in a very unprofessinal manner "what do you want to drink." Then it kept going downhill from there. I was ready to leave but we stayed. The food was ok but not grea and the sushi sashimi plate I always got was just salmon and two pieces of tuna. The tuna was old and grainy. Checking out was painful as they were more interested in making their own drinks, as they had been since we got there, and tipping each other out. I had to ask where my card was, which was I his shirt pocket and hadn't even been rung up yet. What a shame, I used to like this place. No more, I'll not be...
