Our check-in was easy the front desk staff was nice, he even called us to offer an extra night stay. Our Presidential Suite was very clean and all the amenities were nice. There is a mini island and kitchen, with seating for guests. The bedroom is huge and we like the doors that separate the front room from the bedroom. The shower is awesome, it's a walkin with wheelchair accessibility and it also has a place you can sit and not get too wet. There is a microwave and mini fridge for your convenience. Our room was quiet. I saw a lot of reviews with complaints about street and bar noise, but those things didn't bother us. We live by the freeway so the room was quiet to us. We did not use the valet parking because I do not like anyone else driving my vehicle. We parked at the Vine St garage, which was very convenient, only a block away from the hotel and priced very reasonably. There are plenty of activities and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is also located right across from the Columbus Convention Center and there is always something going on there. The breakfast room is very nice and we appreciate that the continental breakfast is from 6am to 10am, since most hotels don't have breakfast or the time is too early and only lasts an hour. This hotel has a pool that is open till 11pm (the pool could be a little cleaner) there were lots of little white hairs in the pool and I'm not sure what it was. The gym is nice, they have plenty of equipment with personal TVs on the treadmills, and lots of weights. The gym was also a very nice cool temperature if you decide to work up a sweat. Needless to say, we enjoyed our stay and turned our day trip into a 2 day trip. Thanks Hampton Inn.

Great spot to stop in for the night. We visited with our 2 kids, 8 and 2, and they enjoyed the pool and the room view (although not much from the 4th floor, but it entertained them). The room was clean, bathroom was nice, and the shower head had some pressure! Even better, they had a room on a Friday night at 6pm when I called to book from 10 minutes away. It did seem fairly busy but the front desk informed me there was a concert, convention, and something else going on nearby. The parking situation was in and out Valet service for $35/night. I guess that's to be expected in a downtown area like this. There were plenty of food and drink choices nearby. The night life seemed to be everywhere, if only we hadn't 2 small children, we could have been out all night livin it up. But alas, we found a local brewery to eat at with a kids menu, and then were able to walk the main drag down and back to get ice cream a few blocks away at Kilwins. Breakfast in the morning was free and it was decent, with premade omelette choices and waffle makers among the fruit, yogurt, muffins, and cereal. It satisfied our crew. And the dark roast coffee was delish. The pool was clean and clear and kept the kids busy for an hour or so in the morning. We had a 12 o'clock check out so that was nice not having to beat the clock to get out. Overall it was a great stay and we would stop in again if needed! Though my 8 year old really wanted to stay at the Hilton up the block because it had more floors 😆

Convenience, convenience, convenience! Conveniently located across the street from convention center with valet parking is the justifiable reasonings here! The front desk staff was professional but far from what I'd call friendly. The shining stars of the staff were the valet attendants! They were helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable about the area and all around positive & upbeat; The kind of employees that left guests in better moods and smiling after just a brief interaction!... We were thoroughly impressed by those guys (& gal)! The common areas are impressively clean and modern. Amenities include; a heated indoor pool (that was closed early by 9:30p), a 24HR gym, free wifi, hot breakfast, and valet parking till midnight. Fresh coffee was available in the lobby 24/7. The room was nice enough but honestly, left much to be desired from a king suite reservation! The TV's were outdated (no streaming capabilities) and had no access to the HDMI/USB ports. "Suite" amenities include; pullout sofa, extra seating, walk-in showered, hair dryer, fridge, coffee pot and available laundry service (NO microwave). Outside was as clean as possible. Designated smoking areas aren't clearly marked and no ash cans are available. Flower planters are stately but not well maintained. Overall the hotel is nice but at $300 a night (including taxes & daily valet fees) I expected better! Like I said, the ONLY thing that makes that price justifiable is it's convenience to the convention center!

I stayed at the Hilton on 9/21 for my birthday and had a very unpleasant experience. The room layout online for the 1 bedroom King Suite Cityview was not the one I received upon check in. We notified the staff a little after checking in around 3:15p. We were told that the room would be available at 4pm; however, after standing around for another hour, we decided to pack all of our items onto the room cart and head down to get food. We asked the front desk what was going on and they assured us it would be done “soon”. We came back to the hotel around 6pm and the room still was not done. My brother and husband spoke with James at the front desk who assured us again it would be done soon. Well, soon turned into hours - as we left to go downtown to kill time. We came back to the hotel about 8:30pm and our things were in the room we thought we should have.

After coming back in the hotel I spoke with James who said he would “work something out”.

The next day at check out and my bill was still the same and no “working out” was done. The pleasant gentleman at check out said he remembered the issues we faced and that I would need to follow up with James who wouldn’t be back until 3pm on 9/22. I contacted James around 6pm which was very insensitive. I explained to James that I was following up because he said he would “work something out” for us and that my bill was still $242 for the room. He said that “yes, we got you in the new room and loaded your things”. That was not my idea of “working something out” I explained it was my birthday and I had things planned at the hotel with friends that I could not set up because of the room not being ready. He again stated the same and that he would not deduct anything from my bill, but provide 2,000 Hilton Honors points and I said that was unacceptable. We spoke for some more and he said if I wanted the room I would have had to select “special accommodations”. I am not sure how anyone would know that, but nonetheless, he kept alluding to he worked something out for us by taking the room cart up for us, which to me- was a given. There was much more said on the phone; however it did not result in any resolution.

He was extremely insensitive and had no empathy as my birthday had been completely ruined due to not having it ready and having to change plans that I had people coming to. I asked to speak to someone else and he said that he would put me through the GM’s voicemail and he “might” call me back.

It has been a week and I still have no call back. This is unacceptable and I will never go back to that establishment again. The gentleman that checked me out that day was extremely nice; however, I was very dissatisfied with James and how the situation was handled and his lack of empathy...

I’m really not sure how this place has so many good reviews. My experience with this hotel was by far the worst ones I’ve ever had. We have only ever booked with Hilton, are diamond elite members for years, so we KNOW what things that come with that status are. My reservation was for a king room with a sofa bed, non smoking. Walked into the hotel to the guy at the front desk arguing with someone on the phone. Got the keys to the room, no sofa bed. I called down to the front desk asking if there was some sort of mistake. She then told me they gave away that room, which I booked over a week prior. We are supposed to have “room savings” with the status we have with Hilton. I asked to speak to a manager, since they were doing nothing to try to fix it (not even an apology), which I was told they wouldn’t be there until Monday. She said she would call the manager and try to fix it and call me back. I waited 15 min, no call back so I called down to the desk where it rang for a long time and finally the man at the desk answered, who was so incredibly RUDE and one of the meanest people I’ve ever come in contact with. He said “she didn’t call the manager and she’s not going to. I can give you his business card.” He proceeded to tell me there’s 0 available rooms and nothing they can do. I went down to the desk, finally they gave me keys to another room. I walked into this room and it was OCCUPIED. There were other peoples suitcases and belongings!!! I immediately walked out and went back downstairs and told them they gave me keys to an occupied room!!! After waiting AGAIN they finally switched me to another room, after claiming there were none available. During all of this, I was trying to get the man at the desk to sort it out with my dad on the phone since that’s who the account is under. In the middle of my dad talking, the man cut my dad off, handed me back my phone and proceeded to dismiss us and answer the desk phone. Just overall nasty attitude and was treating me like I was dumb because I am younger. Was trying to tell me I didn’t have the status with Hilton and the accommodations that come with that. How this person has a job in customer service is beyond me. Not to mention the fact I drove around 20 minutes prior trying to figure out how to find the valet, where to park, ($42/night BTW), how to get inside. Just an absolute nightmare and disaster. Will be putting on our survey and everywhere else possible....

I am annoyed. My experience is less than ideal. Its late 12 43 to be exact... I am awake... listening to music from either a wedding party or a club that is connected to the hotel. Last night was no better Iheard the pounding music above the sound of the in room air conditioner which for the record is to loud. Unless you like a rediculous amount of "white noise" to sleep with.

I am betting there are no sound issues Sunday through Thursday.. so if you come.. the noise will only be an issue on the week end.

Lets talk about the hotel and staff. Generally I would give them three to four stars... all interaction with the staff is pleasant, intelligent and curteous.

The room is clean with small exception to the black mold growing behind the silocone in the bathroom in the shower. Rm 521. Look close at the stainless safety bar. What is the deal with the weird board on the ceiling in the shower. Fix it right.

Breakfast is nice. Pretty well stocked and the food choices change slightly every day. You can tell however the food is the frozen supply and thawed like the muffins...and heated like the egg omelets. My wife did not like the coffee. What do I know. I mixed mine with a packet of cocoa and vanilla creamer.

Maid service. Seems good. Clean and tidy. Kudos. I think the service(s) of the room cleaning staff is always under appreciated. Thanks for the fresh towels etc.

Would I come back?... NO. Not because they were good or bad.. not the music keeping me up.

I realize I dont need to be right downtown for a lodging service to handle my needs.

Ps consider not coming to stay on the weekend unless you are going out to party the evening away and do not plan on returning before event closing time. Lol

I edited this post at 1 06 am. Still flipping pounding. Hopefully event closes at 2 am in OH? Ascii pounders.

Yeah,... OH and C BUS is so full of "hipsters".. lets throw up together. Lol

Edited 2018 1

Nope still would not return to downtown. Thanks.

Definition of a hipster: someone with so little personality that they grab on to anything they can and over do their participation... think...
