What should have been a 8 hour car ride turned into a 10 hour car ride with traffic.. not the hotels fault.. however once I went to check in I was informed that the 250 dollar incidental fee could not be separated from the card I booked the hotel room on.. and also that the card I booked the hotel room on had only been charged for one night, I know that’s typical. However most places I have been to have charged my card prior to my arrival and I can put my incidental charge on a different card. Not often do I come to a hotel and I’m asked for 885 dollars the day I check in. Fine whatever, I’ll move money around later.. even tho we’d cleared a different card for the room charges not including incidentals..
After all that, I ask her where to park she tells me to go back out the lobby turn left and turn left again at the dead end. I do I get my ticket..
Make sure you validate your parking ticket that night otherwise it’s $40 to leave. And you don’t have to validate it every time you enter and leave the building for that vehicle. Which I was also never told. So I paid $40 for one night. Got two tickets validated when I only needed one. Luckily the next woman I talked to knew what she was doing or cared enough to help and didn’t charge me for parking twice..
After all that when we got to the room it was clean. Which is a plus AlWAYS. However not a single plug in on the right side of the bed worked.. which usually isn’t a big deal most of them don’t work half the time however more inconveniences the closet plug in to that side of the bed was on the other wall closest to the window.. i went bought a 20ft cord to plug into the left side of the bed to drape across the top of the bed to charge my phone.
Also do not expect large king size pillows for your king bed. They are wimpy regular size pillows and flatten as soon as your head hits them. My 10 dollar Walmart pillows are more stable. For the luxury they advertise I expected more. Especially since we stayed in one of the more “elite” rooms.
The in room fridge is also just a beverage fridge. Big sign on it that say’s beverage only does not get cold enough for food. A lot of things that went wrong for us could have easily been avoided with some consideration. For a hotel as large as it is I was surprised that a lot of information I received after the fact wasn’t presented at check in. Not my favorite hotel...
Read moreI was extremely pleased with my recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Columbus! The valet staff were incredibly helpful and professional. Even though I opted to use the self-park option, they assisted me with temporary parking so I could bring my luggage in, assisted me with my luggage, and gave me directions for both where to check in and where I could park my car. The front desk concierge was friendly and helpful and let me know where I could find everything I needed for my stay. The older gentleman working at the gift shop was so sweet, helpful, and patient and gave me a list of local restaurants. I was staying here for a conference and the hotel food and beverage staff were wonderful! For the buffet style meals, they had fresh food brought out before anything went empty, the food was delicious, and for the seated lunch in, our server went above and beyond to accommodate my colleagues' dietary restrictions and was not only professional and kind but also had a wonderfully welcome sense of humor. And last but not least, the room.... This was probably the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in! Everything was meticulous including the freshly vacuumed floor and clearly dusted surfaces. They provided plenty of towels and had additional blankets in the closet. The soaps offered were of high quality and smelled wonderful. The bed felt like falling into a cloud. And I really appreciated the outlets that were built into the nightstand making it so easy to charge all of my electronics without having to crawl on the floor to plug them in. I highly recommend this hotel and will absolutely stay here again if I return...
Read moreHonestly, this place is really great with the exception of the bag service. We stayed for a week for the Crossfit Games. Check-in and front desk were excellent. The restaurant and breakfast were great. It's attached to the Convention center and has a skywalk to parking. I really had no complaints until the end.||||We left our bags with the staff after check-out and wanted to explore the city before we drove home. When we returned a few hours later, my wife caught them about to give our bags away to someone else. Fortunately the other person said it wasn't their bags because when my wife tried to stop them, they told her those weren't her bags. I had the ticket with me while I was retrieving the car so when I got back and showed the tickets they relented but never apologized.||||My wife was of course upset because they nearly gave away all of our laptops and valuables to someone else. One of the other workers (Mike) decided to step in and start arguing with us. He kept trying to blame us for some reason and started nearly yelling at my wife. He is a big man, over 6 feet and several hundred pounds, he was getting almost violent in his yelling and I had to tell him to calm down or leave, it was uncalled for him to speak to her that way.||||We talked to Jeff his manager and he was nice but I don't honestly think anything will be done. Unless Mike is moved to a new location or fired, I would not go back here again. I wouldn't trust him near my wife or daughters.||||If you stay here, I would make sure you are careful around the bag service and recommend not using them if at...
