I went to cookout today after my shift ended, with three of my coworkers. This being my first time going to cookout, I was honestly excited to try something new.
We order out food, and only half of the food ordered gets sent out.
I ordered fries, hush puppies, and a walking taco. They forgot my hush puppies, and once we told them they forgot them they said okay, and went to go make them. 5 minutes later they come back saying it'll be 10 minutes due to the fryer being "messed up". How is it messed up if a few minutes ago you just made fries, my coworkers hush puppies, and white cheddar bites?
While waiting for the other half of my order, the workers kept staring at us, looking like they wanted us to leave.
I work in a fast food/restaurant type of place, and I completely understand the feeling of wanting to go home after a long shift and standing for most of it, but staring at customers, who are just waiting for their food peacefully and not trying to give grief about an order being messed up, is ridiculous.
I finally get the rest of my food, and once I look in the bag they handed me that had my walking taco andfries, it looked like the walking taco had just been slung in the bag, and the fries were simply dumped on top. There was meat from the taco all over the inside and outside of the bag, and it looked disgusting. There was also meat covering the chip bag that contained the walking taco, and that was gross to hold as well.
I've never had to or felt the need to write a review about a place I've eaten at, but this is honestly ridiculous.
After work, a lot of people want to get food and go home because they don't want to cook a meal, and that's exactly what me and my coworkers did, only to get stared and, and made to feel like they just wanted us to leave before I got the rest of my meal.
I understand it being night, but still, customers should feel happy with what they get when it comes to fast food, or any restaurant. But this genuinely made me feel like that's going to be my first and last time visiting this...
Read moreI did not want it to come to this, the one-star review, but the experience I had tonight was far too egregious for me to ignore. Over the past few years, my visits to Cookout have become fewer and further between, as I have continually had a problem with my food being wildly incorrect.
Tonight, I was hungry after work and just wanted a quick and easy dinner. I ordered a Jr. tray- burger with cheese and A1, two honey mustard chicken wraps with no lettuce and extra honey mustard, and a shake (the only thing correct in the entire order). Both wraps had lettuce, though I managed to salvage them after a tedious and sticky process of removing the shreds by hand. The worse offender, however, was the burger, which seemed normal at first, only for me to find that half of the thing was coated and soaking in honey mustard, as if some had spilled onto it during the food preparation and whoever had been making it decided that it wasn't their problem or wasn't worth it to remake, so they wrapped it up and sent it on it's way. I only ate the wraps because I got home so late that I had no energy to make myself food, which was the thing I was trying to avoid by getting fast food. The burger was completely inedible, as the combination of A1 and honey mustard was too disgusting for me to bring myself to eat. The part that upsets me the most is the fact that I checked with two separate employees before receiving my food that my modifications were correct, and I was assured twice that they'd gotten it down right. Clearly, they hadn't, or whoever was cooking just didn't care. Either way, this is not a surprising or unusual occurrence for me at this location, though it is incredibly disappointing.
I will likely not be spending another penny here, as I'd much rather pay a little more to go to a place I know is going to serve me what I asked and paid for. I apologize for how rude this wall of text comes across as, but after numerous times of these things happening, I am just too frustrated to not...
Read moreI was so excited to check out this place, but was quickly disappointed. Greeted by teenage employees who obviously didn't know the meaning of customer service and neglected to tell me after paying at one window that there are TWO food pick up windows, let alone, which one I should get my food at, so I drove to one and no one came, so I thought I was at the wrong one, drove to the next and the next teenager was already hanging her head out the window yelling to me and waving that I was approaching the wrong window, flagging me to go back to the other, which is impossible as cars came up directly behind me. I finally get my food and the wrappers were not covering the hamburgers, grease was everywhere, the meat hanging out one side of the smashed buns, cheese out the other, it was simply the most disgusting throw together of food I've ever received at a drive through. The hamburgers were small though we ordered a larger size, the fries were cold as if they had sat waiting for them to cook and pack the other food. Needless to say, I won't go back, which is a disappointment as I really hoped we had another great choice of burger places in town, but just for the brash service, alone, I would not go back. I pay for a service, in turn, staff gets paid to be polite and provide, I...
