This evening, I needed to pick up some ammo and ran in to make a single, 20-round box purchase. The young man at the firearms counter was friendly enough, but informed us to proceed to the front of the store to pay. Once there, it was apparent that their cashier and customer service area is a little confusing to navigate. While waiting to check out, an Academy Sports+Outdoors employee walked up to the customer service area and blatantly cut in front of us. His smug look and cocky demeanor spoke volumes; with probably no less than several pieces of gum in his repetitively gaping mouth, he resembled an obnoxious bovine chewing its cud. Rather than be aware that other customers were standing by patiently, and most likely looking a bit confused regarding where we should go to pay for our item, he simply stepped up before us to Cashier #2, and placed his drum of supplement on the counter, chomp-chomp-chomping all the way. Now, I thoroughly commend anyone who desires a good physique and improved health to work towards those goals with dedication and vigor. This young man, however, appears to have gone back for seconds, or even thirds, for the Mega-Bulk, as well as the I-Adore-Me-So-Why-Shouldn’t-You? servings of protein shakes. To make it even worse, Cashier #2 obviously could tell that we didn’t appreciate the actions of his coworker, however made no attempt to recognize that fact, and rushed us along with our purchase. I’ll be the first one to admit that I was thrilled to learn that Cookeville was getting its very own Academy Sports+Outdoors, especially after gaining their distribution center. But, at least for now, you’ve lost a customer. I appreciate the opportunity to vent my frustrations here, but I won’t be back at your location-or any Academy...
Read moreOmg OK so this is my favorite store I ordered something online and it was declining me no look I have the money in the bank so I went in store to see what’s going on they told me that it is my bank card so all right cancel the order and re-order it again and it went through immediately so I walk to the car with my the stuff I ordered and realize I needed something else again so walk back in the store and ask if they do Apple Pay because I left my card home she said yes we do now that’s the manager so we tried to pay and it declined it again so I’ll ask her if I can order it online while I am standing in the store will I be able to get it soon she said yes so we did it and I’ve been waiting there for two hours the store finally close at 9 PM so I ask her what’s going on she said I don’t know we’ll just have to call customer service at 9:30 I finally went Through the website and it shows after 7 PM orders will be submitted the following day so I feel like there’s people in store specially the manager don’t really know what they are...
Read moreIt was my first and last time I will be in that store. They had some Brooks tennis shoes with a sale sign that said 39.99. There was another lady beside me who said she was getting some because that was really cheap. I got a pair also. When we got to the registet, the didn't ring up for 39.99. They were 149.00. We both told them the sign said 39.99. They said, no, we have no Brooks that cheep. They called someone to go check the price, and the other lady and I went also. The price was on the Brookes shoes but was suppose to be on the under armor ones. They would not give us the sale price because they said someone could have switched the tag. But you could tell it hadn't been switched. They just had a worker who put it in the wrong place, but that's not problem. I think what you advertise you should sell it for. The manager was a jerk and was not nice about it at all. I will never be back in that...
