I've been associated with the Hospitality industry for over 17 years. I wasn't expecting the best....but if you don't have the amenities to offer as other hotels do, your best pay off for no cost is providing great customer service. The only glimmer of hope was snuffed out.

Read moreThe pictures posted of this location were likely taken 10+ years ago. I booked online directly from the hotel website. When I arrived, they overcharged me. I asked for them to price match and honor their own site, they refused. Then charged me $10 for parking. I asked to be allowed free parking to make up for the overcharge, they refused. You are greeted by a huge sign by the check in desk about all of the things they will charge you for. Nothing is included in this stay. Want to use the new game table in the lobby? $5 per game, music by the pool to loud, they will charge you. A legit giant board of all things they will happily add to your bill. ||Assigned to room 104. Patio door wont open, window leaking in a big puddle because it's raining. I walk back to lobby, wait in line for 20 mins. assigned a new room, get all of our luggage and open the door and find it hasn't been cleaned yet. Walk back to the lobby and get assigned a 3rd try of a room. go to check the patio door, there is literally cheese melted into the air con unit... If they didn't happen to notice that while cleaning, I'm sure as hell not going to trust the cleanliness of the rest of the room. I walk BACK to the front desk, wait another 20 mins to ask for a refund. His response "I'll have to call my manager." Not sorry, not how can I help fix the situation. He calls his manager who says that they can't issue a refund. Tells me even though I booked thru their personal website, I have to call Choice Hotels and request they issue a refund. I spoke to her over the phone and she says "that's not my problem or my issue. We don't issue refunds. Email Choice and see if they can do it." Her name is Deepa. ||I call Choice who says the hotel obviously needs to issue the refund. I go back in, speak to manager on the phone again. I say that I'm not leaving until they refund me for their room, she refuses and tells me I'm welcome to call the cops. ||Hotel:|Dirty|Run down|Roaches squished and left all around common walkways and in rooms|Large leaks in multiple rooms every time it rained|Manger-rude, greedy, liar, lacks any sort of personal skills|Front desk attendant- has zero hospitality skills, or control of how guests are treated||Pros, The pool is large and seemingly clean. |Jackson, the only staff who ever even apologised during our 2 hour nightmare is fantastic. He tried to fix issues, was polite and apologetic, was working as hard as he could to make things work even with multiple families complaining and having issues. ||No not book here. We aren't fussy about much, just wanted to spend a couple days at the beach and explore the city. Most disgusting and disappointing experience ever. ||Still haven't been refunded the $400+ for a stay that didn't happen. ||*SO many jellyfish that we couldn't get in the water. couldn't even walk down the beach without stepping on them. Read moreWow has this place changed. This used to be our go to every Corpus Christi stay. Things have really changed for the worse and I’m assuming because new management. I should have read the recent reviews before coming back. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Right when you enter there’s a foul odor. A/C was on but seemed like just on fan mode. Exposed wiring everywhere. Missing switches for the light. Toilet kept not wanting to flush, would have to wait forever for it to be able to. Restroom was dirty with hairs everywhere. Did not look cleaned in the entire place actually. Blinds were all messed up. Everything was pretty much rusted and unsanitary. There was a dead bug in the lamp shade. Doors were jammed and door knobs were loose and hard to lock. Pillows weren’t even pillows and seemed super old. By the time we got under the blankets we saw dirty stains and dead roaches. We didn’t even want to sleep in that bed but had no choice. We even saw live little ones on the door trim. After cleaning it the best we could the A/C then decides to shut off. It was already hot in there to begin with. I finally had enough and went to tell the front desk. He came to check it and offered us a fan until he checked for another room. We couldn’t even explain any frustration we were already having as the man seemed to get defensive. He then took us to another room with a perfectly working but loud a/c. Which we were able to sleep in. It was about 2:30 in the morning when we had switched so we just switched our bags to the other room and laid down immediately. When we woke up we saw above us what seemed to be the starting of a water leak from up stairs. Also, we decided to check under the blankets and there was even more dead roaches under those sheets as well. The toilet problem was the same in that room as well and the restroom door knob was missing a screw. Over all horrible experience, not even comfortable complaining to the front desk. All we know is that we will NEVER be coming to stay there again. It’s sad what this hotel has come to and how bad they let it decay. It is nothing from how it used to be. Only thing great about it is the location and that is it. Definitely not worth the price! Thank god we got from a third party that charged us half of what they were asking because to be honest I wouldn’t even have paid that. Hopefully they get new management because it seems people have been leaving bad reviews about the same thing for months and NOTHING...
