Long review... TLDR

My family members and I stayed here over memorial day weekend. The hotel itself was nice. Rooms were nice and comfy and being bayfront was also convenient. Our other family members enjoyed themselves, including two little kids, and cookies were also delicious. The only thing I didn't like was that the water pressure seemed to get less and less the longer you shower. Same with the sink. I was brushing my teeth and noticed the water pressure getting less and less. Don't know what that issue was about but my SIL mentioned that if you turn off the water and turn it back on, it'll get back to normal.

When it comes to their in-house restaurant, I'm not exactly sure what went wrong but they seemed to struggle with that part. For one thing, my BIL wanted to go down by himself first to have some coffee, was seated by the window overlooking the bay but was seemingly ignored as no one came around to get his order so he left and went back up to his room. About maybe an hour or so later, we all decided to go down as a family to get some breakfast, was seated by the bar area but was again ignored until a waitress came by to attempt to give us some menus. Qr codes were posted on the table so we were able to scan them and didn't need menus which is what we told our waitress but instead of asking if we were ready to order, she walked off. We felt ignored because our waitress never came back around to take our order. They were busy and short staffed though so I thought "ok, maybe she's just a little overwhelmed right now and have other tables to take care of. She'll come to us when she's free" but she never did. Instead, she went around to other tables including the tables behind the bar to ask for their order or to see if they needed refills but never stopped by our table again. She even had time to stop by the bar to ring up a customer or to serve drinks but again, she never bothered to stop by our table again. When she stopped by the table next to us, we thought "ok, we're next" but nope. She walked off again. She never even made eye contact with us. She walked everywhere but never bothered to stop at our table again after attempting to drop off menus for us. At this point, my niece and nephew, who are 6 and 4 (so, little kids), were starving and you know how little kids can be when they're hungry. We waited patiently for about an hour before we finally flagged someone (another waitress/server) down to take our order. She came over, apologized for the wait and told us that their head chef was rushed to the hospital late last night so they're a little behind. We were understanding but it still should not have to take that long to place our freaking orders. If the head chef is out, shouldn't they still have the sous chef and another backup chef to handle the cooking? After placing our order, we got our drinks but it was another hour wait for the food to come out but by that point, I had already gone up back to my room (to get my charging bank because my phone was running low and because I was tired of waiting because I had started doubting that our food was being made) so my husband packed up my food for me. My family members described their food as cold and sad looking so don't think I was missing out on anything. My husband & BIL said mine was the only thing that looked decent. After this experience, maybe we'll go elsewhere for food next time if we decide to stay at this location again so we don't have to wait 2 hours for food. It also shouldn't have to take an hour to flag someone down.

We were also told that they were suppose to set up for breakfast buffet but no one did and they needed to do training for the summer and this was just a taste of what it'll be like. I'm not sure what to say about that part but I was disappointed with this...

First I want to say that the only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the front desk people as well as the maintenance man were very kind and accommodating. Particularly the maintenance man (whose name I wish I had gotten). He did his best to help us out and explain what was going on.

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. In fact I'd say steer clear. The 5th floor hallway smelled like pee. Our room was 75° when we asked in. I tried to change the ac however the display said "LC" which I'm guessing means "locked" there is a thermostat in the room as well but it didn't change anything. Our room was dirty. There was some kind of cake or pastry bits left on the coffee maker, the floor in the kitchenette and bathroom were both dirty. The fridge was dirty on the outside. The microwave was dirty on the inside. I actually brought a fee cleaning supplies and tried to clean up the shower floor as well as the bathroom floor. I could not get the shower floor cleaned. One bed smelled like pee which grossed me out. Also the balcony door had no lock. And it was windy so the wind kept blowing the door open. (Which is perfect since we had a 2 year old toddler with us) Talked to the front desk and they gladly moved us to a new room. Second room was mostly fine, it was cleaner and the beds smelled fine. However it was 75° in the room and no way of changing it to make it cooler. The sun went down so its down to 73° but all of us (2 adults, 3 children) are sweating in our sleep. The maintenance man did bring us a fan which was great of him. However it is mostly circulating hot air. We were booked for 3 days, 2 nights. But we are canceling and just going home. Our first day here was ruined by all the negatives of this hotel. Trying to get things figured out and not being able to cool off. It's our first vacations in 5 years and its being cut short bc put hotel has been terrible. Also neither of the rooms that we were given had any sort of ventilation fan in the bathroom. You want to talk abour humid? Turn on the shower for a minute and then open the door to a room that is just has uncomfortable and hot. Just awful here. I would not recommend to anyone. Full disclosure we were told the rooms are updating their ac units as well as getting new balcony doors, however that doesn't help us a bit. The room is not clean(at least the one we first had) and it is not cool. Two rooms and still nothing below 75°??? It was over 100° outside today and the room only gave us comfort our of the sun. I'm very disappointed and just want to go home. Stay away or make sure you check the rooms thoroughly before you start unpacking. Adding photos that we talk once in the first room. Nearly forgot to add, but as I'm in the hotel right now, while the second bathroom is cleaner. It smells like sewage and grossed us out. We were so tired and disappointed by the end if the night we went to bed. Before we fell asleep my husband and I decided to cancel the rest of our stay.

And you have to pay for parking.

Lastly whatever they are paying the maintenance man, they should pay him more. He really was kind and tried to be as helpful as possible. And I know he was running around trying to attend to everyone who had any room related issues.

*If all my photos are approved you will also see the gigantic dead roach that my kids found right next to the bed.

WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK...

My children and I took a mini vacation to Corpus this weekend and stayed at this hotel. (We are from San Antonio and stayed for 2nights)

I have seen other comments and reviews that state their rooms were dirty etc.. but gratefully this was not our experience. We got the exact room we reserved and paid for. Beautiful view of the ocean. The room was clean and smelt fresh. Only negative thing to say about the room we had was the distance between the bathroom door and toilet was about 4-5inches so you had to maneuver and close the door to sit on the toilet. Frankly we didn't care because the cleanliness of the room and the view outweighed that.

I spoke to multiple staff members on different occasions and can honestly say I received EXCELLENT customer service each time. Everyone was kind, answered my questions or addressed any concerns.

We did not eat at their restaurant in the hotel however I did have 1 drink from the pool bartender and it was perfect.

The pool is a little on the smaller side and does fill up in the evening.

Onsite hotel Parking is 10$ a day which I didn't realize when booking but that was my own fault for not clearly reading everything. Still wasn't an issue however; as parking was definitely available at all times even if we had to leave and come back. So it all worked out.

There was also scooters to rent parked right outside the hotel which we enjoyed.

We LOVED the location, you can walk right out the back doors onto the beach.

This hotel also has as a shower and foot shower right outside the back off the hotel to rinse off the sand.

There are Jet Ski Rentals, chairs, tents, and more right out side the back of the hotel owned by Kevin Moreno whom he and his staff also provide EXCELLENT customer service. Jet Ski at your own risk 😂 I definitely wasn't made for it but I tried! 🤷‍♀️

There is a restaurant walking distance right across the street from the hotel called Black Beards great seafood and customer service! Check them out.

The ONLY negative experience we had was with 2 other drunk guests which I as the bigger person chose to desclate the situation for a number of reasons but if my kids weren't there things would of been handled differently and that's a fact🤷‍♀️. I did speak to hotel staff only to make them aware of the belligerent guests for awareness. I didn't ask for them to be kicked out of the hotel as I know liquid courage made them show thier disgusting true colors and hopefully they'd self reflect in the morning.

That situation had nothing to due with staff or the hotel and I do not hold them accountable for others actions.

We didn't let them ruin the rest of our time. We truly enjoyed our stay.

I will also say this is the nicest hotel on North beach Corpus Christi no doubt.

We would definitely stay here again with no hesitation.

Thank you staff at Double Tree Hilton Corpus Christi for your kindness and...

Date of my stay: MAY 2025 PROS: -Staff will ask if you would like a cookie after you check in and they are delicious. I even asked for a cookie later and they were kind enough to give me more. So yummy! -Pool and heated whirlpool were great. My wife and children spent quite a bit of time there and enjoyed it. -We didn't try the dinner but did have breakfast which was delicious. The waitress was very nice and the other workers at the hotel restaurant were all very kind. We went during the week and they only have breakfast buffets during the weekend so I wasn't sure what to expect. It ended up being a sit down experience where you are waited on. You get a menu and choose from what you would like. Your best bet is to purchase the breakfast when you book the hotel room. That is the best value there. But food was phenomenal. -The proximity to the beach was great. -Nearby attractions include the USS Lexington and the aquarium. -My room was a room with a beachside view. It was beautiful. The room itself was very comfortable. CONS: -The beach. Though the beach is extremely close, its not all that great. There was a lot of jelly fish which my wife and daughter both got stung by. There is even a sign as you leave the rear part of the hotel to beware of jellyfish. The sand of the beach is mixed with rock/pebbles so its not just sand. I was hoping the beach would be nicer but it was just meh. Nothing to do with the hotel but if you are going because of the beach, you must understand how the beach is. -Price add ons to pay for breakfast and parking. I suggest adding both of these when you book the room. But its disappointing that you have to add these, especially breakfast. OVERALL: If you come to stay at a nice hotel with lots of amenities and things to do nearby, this is a fantastic option. But if you are merely coming to spend time at the beach, I would choose another location with another beach front simply because the beach itself wasn't all that great.

I don’t even know where to start for this hotel. I was excited to stay on the beach but quickly regretful as soon as I pulled in. First, you have to pay for parking with a QR code. That’s fine but this parking lot is nasty. As soon as I walked in to the lobby, it was blazing hot. Because the front doors and the beach doors constantly stay open, the lobby is miserable. Might want to invest in a vestibule here on both ends of the building. There is sand and water all on the floors, so not the safest environment. Got the keys to my room, no cookie, and the room is awful. Even the hallways to the rooms were bad. It’s like none of the AC in the building works. The air is set the lowest it can go but it was 78 in the room and the bathroom was dirty. I’m not even sure housekeeping cleaned the room. I picked up the phone to call the front desk and the phone doesn’t work. So I take all my stuff and go down to change rooms. She gets me set up with another room and off I go. This room is cleaner and a little cooler. I turn it down as far as it will go and I lay on the bed right in front of the vents cause I’ve just been sweating since I got here. The unit is blowing cold air but the room is still humid and warm. I finally figured out that the front of the unit wasn’t even fully attached so it’s just blasting hot air around the sides of the unit. I call again and this time it rings and she answers but I can’t talk to her. She can’t hear me. So I go down to the lobby again and tell her the problem and ask for maintenance. Maintenance shows up with the wrong tools and has to go back to get what he needs. He patches the unit with some tape and tells me that they are doing minimal work to the rooms and units because they are supposed to be getting new ones, so minor patches are all that’s happening. Had as decent sleep as I could have and was so glad to be out of that hotel. Until this place gets an update, I won’t be staying here again.
