We were planning to stay for one Saturday night on 4/1/17. We arrived at the posted check in time 2 o'clock. We waited for 2 hours and still could not get in our room at 4. We had other arrangement's so we had to leave and come back. We get to the hotel at 8 pm, at 10 o'clock still no room. The ''system'' was not working right. Our group of people blocked out 14 rooms. At that time 12 had been checked into. There was probably 6 other people waiting for rooms in the lobby as well. The girl at the desk stated that they must have overbooked. During this entire time we never seen the manager although she said he knows about the situation. I have a husband and 2 kids. We ended up having to sleep in my parents room which had 1 bed and a pull out bed. It was so uncomfortable!! As well as the ''remodel'' work they have claim to have done was really poor. The bathroom was tiny and the trim around the bathroom door had nails all over it. It was definitely not AmericInn standards, or none I have ever stayed in before. So the next morning I thought I should check my bank account because at one point during the mad house check in time the lady at the desk swiped my card. Well guess what I got charged for a room. My mom paid for the room we were in. So I go down and a kid named Micheal was now working. (Breakfast sucked by the way, stale cereal, bad fruit) Micheal was helpful, apparently we were being charged for room 219. We were definitely not in 219! We were in my moms room that she paid for. SO... he said he would get it refunded and not to worry. So few hours later it was refunded and all was good. Until yesterday 4/3/17 I seen that yet again another charge from AmericInn for a full room total. So I call just so happens the lady from Saturday night that was working. She says she will get it refunded and all will be good. Guess what still not refunded. Still waiting on the manager to call me back. It's not like I havn't been patient with them. I waited for 4 hours in a lobby with my two under 7 year old kids. This should no way effect other AmericInn I have had many enjoyable stays at them before, but specifically this hotel is not good....
Read more0 stars if I could. I understand you get what you pay for, but this was either the worst (or definitely top 3 worst in my life) lodging I have ever experienced, and that includes many (often cheap/dingy) motels and hostels.
My husband and I just needed a place to sleep for the night (and maybe shower) to split our long road trip in half, so we weren't super picky or in need of a luxurious room for our ~7 hour stay, but this place was disgusting. Neither of us were comfortable with even thinking about setting foot in the shower in our room's bathroom. I hardly slept and couldn't wait to get out of there.
The worker at the front desk was very unnecessarily rude when she talked to me two different times on the phone, and that night, she was still working when my husband checked in, and she was rude to him as well. We booked a 1 king room but got a 2 queen that had no ac and a broken busted window screen, creating a noise, safety, and bug issue (and light problem, since the curtains don't fully close). It was especially disappointing staying in this inhabitable room since the purpose of my two calls were just to confirm our booking and give our ETA (hours in advance) to ensure nothing happened to our booking and they knew we were coming and when.
The pictures don't do justice at showing just how nasty this place was. The peephole had a napkin in it because it is presumably broken, the sink and toilet were not fixed down at all and had a ton of gunk, there were blood stains, and overall filthy and inadequate. Then there was the consistently and needlessly rude worker to top it off. Will never return here. Felt compelled to warn others; this crossed the line of safety/health issues such that even a low-maintenance traveler may be disturbed and should avoid.. Spend...
Read moreMy stay was June 27th/28th 2016 OVERALL 1 star - The stay ended terribly, but I'll start with the positives. Bed was clean and comfortable, AC pumped out cold air just fine.
The bad? Shower head was mounted for a 5' tall person (hit me in the chest). No biggie I guess. Room smell was SO NASTY I LEFT MY BUSINESS ATTIRE HANGING IN MY TRUCK OVERNIGHT. Yep, I had no intention of going into sales calls wearing clothes that smelled like my room. I also should have checked, but this hotel has no elevator (and looks and feels like a cheap 1980's hotel).
Lastly, and the most important / negative thing about my stay?? I left 3 days ago and STILL do not have a receipt.
A business traveler NEEDS A RECEIPT, this establishment only offered excuse after excuse (printer not working via wirless was the first one). Promise to email, but it did't happen. Promise for follow up from owner/GM, of course, DID NOT HAPPEN. 3 days after check out I still have NO RECEIPT. Biz operates like its 1985. Stay elsewhere people, not worth he headache.
P.S. I had stayed 13 straight nights in a hotel, I've learned to be very appreciative of clean rooms, good AC and happy staff. Not every hotel is created equal, nor do they charge the same. Myself fighting for a receipt so I can expense my stay is 100% unacceptable, and would be unacceptable to ANY business man who reads this. Its just not worth the headache, stay elsewhere (I couldn't, the College World Series and US Olympic Swim Trials this week led me to one hotel...I'll be better prepared next...
