Mayumi||My first impressions are that this is a funky place. It is new looking and seems to be well-maintained. The front door is locked and you need to buzz in. A young woman in a sweatshirt was sitting in the kitchen and saw me pull up with luggage so she came to open the door asking me if I was checking him. The front desk is basically the kitchen and the front desk people sit at a counter in front of a laptop. There were two people working. Check in was quick. I was given my key and told my room number and also that there was no elevator. It is pleasant enough. you walk through a courtyard. that has a babbling fountain and a fireplace and going up the staircase was a little challenging since I had a bad knee the room is very small and very modern looking. the shower area is a glass booth that if you do not close, the curtains can be seen from the sleeping area. the bathroom has all the usual amenities except no cups or glasses. In the bedroom area, there is no overhead light above the dust to work. The shades are operated by a remote panel by the door which was fine. There is no coffee pot or cups so you have to go downstairs to get anything to drink, including asking for a bottle of water. The bed is very comfortable with good pillows. The only mirror in the room is above the bathroom sink. There is a compact fridge which was nice. happy hour is advertised as between 5 and 7 PM. When I went down, there was a guy sitting at the counter in front of the laptop. I asked about happy hour, he poured a glass of sake out of a bottle into a wine glass for me which he got out of the frig. There was no food offered. Sake was good. |The next morning, I came down for breakfast. The same guy was sitting at the counter behind the laptop. I said, good morning, and he did not respond. I noted that three other people came in after me, and said good morning to him, but he ignored them. Breakfast is coffee, tea juice danish, instead, oatmeal and bread to toast. There was some fruit available. only place to sit in the kitchen is of a sofa set. Several people sit outside. It was very quiet and the vibe was very subdued. It might be great for some people but I found it a little unnerving. ||they say there is free parking and it is true, but not on the premises. There is street parking and then across the street at the strip mall. There are plenty of spaces to park.||Breakfast is from 7 to 9 AM but if you have an 8 AM flight you have to be at the airport you were out of luck for breakfast. There is no microwave in the room to heat up anything. Luckily, there was a big grocery store across the street where you can get a juice and a bagel to save for breakfast. There’s also a Rite Aid drugstore and a TJ Maxx so shopping is good. ||Would I stay again? If you want friendly, chipper, happy faces with lots if amenities this is not the place for you. No bar. But it seems safe...
Read moreA relaxing and clean oasis in Culver City close to LAX and SoFi Stadium! I enjoyed my past few nights here in town for Taylor Swift. It’s right across the street from a grocery store, Target, Rite Aid, and additional stores which made it easy if I needed anything quickly. The glass shower in the room was interesting and took a bit to get used to, but the colorful lights in the room was a nice touch! There’s breakfast every morning (although just pastries and toast) and water bottles in the fridge to always grab!! I really liked the open concept of this hotel with the welcoming “office” and the courtyard. If only I had more time to relax and unwind I would have spent more time sitting in that space.
Cons: Location is good, but might not be ideal if you want to partake in many of the LA “tourist” activities – it was hard to find an Uber in a timely manner especially at odd hours. But this hotel’s location was perfect for my trip. The bath towels also weren’t great and were thin and had threads loose. Additionally, there’s only street parking but it never seemed to...
Read moreStayed here for a 4 day business trip in Culver City with a side of touristing, and it was both affordable and cute and professional! The rooms are a good size for the price, and just off a central courtyard that is very cute and usable, especially for eating the continental breakfast. Quick ride from LAX, about 15 minutes. The area is right next to Sepulveda Boulevard, and mostly residential (apart from the useful strip mall across the street- Rite Aid and Panera), but the hotel has good street parking around it and lots of buses to elsewhere on the West Side. Lots of Grubhub/Doordash options and super easy to get food delivery.
and MOST OF ALL, the staff is friendly and great; I accidentally left a sentimentally valuable necklace there and didn't have time to get back from LAX when I was leaving. I called the staff in a panic, and David not only went to find the necklace but agreed to take down my address in NJ to ship it to me.
Would definitely stay here again if I was coming to...
