Quite a decent watering hole, has a very "local" feel to it. The bartenders are all fantastic... very welcoming and personable with heavy hands. Drinks are very reasonably priced which is indeed a gem for Culver City. Not gimmicky here at all... they've got pool tables, tons of TVs for sports, dart boards, a nice stage for Karaoke which is a lot of fun, typical Sports Bar fare. They do have events like a Burlesque show on the 3rd Tuesday of the month IIRC; never been there for one of those though so I can't speak on it.
Downsides are that there's no "food program" but there are a few restaurants very close by (namely Tomy's next door if you're there in the afternoon which is cash-only but there is an ATM in the bar) a great Gyro place right around the corner and Jack in the Crack is right across the street. Also, keep in mind that this is almost exclusively an older crowd so if you're expecting a younger/mixed aged clientele like "The Backstage" you'll probably be let down. The establishment itself could perhaps use a light remodel/deep clean but it's definitely not to the point the health department needs to be called.
Overall, a perfect local non-touristy spot with no-frills, no-gimmicks, kind interesting folks that make for great conversations and inexpensive drinks. I don't like drinking all that much so I'm not there very often but it's perfect for what it is meant for and to me that's what counts at the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreScarlet Lady is a Culver City institution. This place is a true local dive bar equipped with two pool tables, a pinball machine, and a Golden Tee golf arcade game. They also have karaoke a few times a week as well as a burlesque show two days a week...yes, I said "Burlesque" š.
If you are a smoker, you have the option of the rear of the business, or there are a couple of tall tables and bar stools up front as well. This bar does not offer food. However, someone will occasionally order pizzas on game days. There is also a ramen place next door that is excellent as well as a burger joint across the parking lot that offers a wide variety of Americana food.
All in all, the staff is friendly and they pour great drinks! The locals are all cool as well. Stop in if you are ever near...

Those of us that are left to toil amongst the living dead seek shelter to remove the soil from our hats, shaking them free of dust at the saloons front door.
A classic dive to wet your whistle, karaoke sign on the door, a lonely pinball machine, freaks and wizards from all across the land sharing tables and chairs, super Mario on his lunch break.
This is the city of angels and demons, shotguns and suburbs, sublime on the jukebox and the spoils of war await the weary traveler hot and tired from the road.
Come see the scarlet lady, let her treat you, wine and dine you.
Walk in through her doors, itās weirder outside I assure you.
Smoke. Cook. Eat.
